• Bridge CS5 with CS4 files cache problem

  If I use Bridge CS4 on a directory, then open the directory even with Bridge CS5, bridge insist on rebuilding thumbnails and previews (as shown on the lower status line).    If I reopen it then the directory in Bridge CS4, it rebuilt again inches and previews - but only inches seem to be rebuilt.   Preferences in both versions of the bridge are "identical".  The bridge cache files are kept in directories of images.

  The construction of the cache seems to be pretty fast (faster than expected) - I don't know what, if anything, is being rebuilt.

  I clean up the previous version of the suite a mac CS3. However, I had a few questions I was wondering if anyone has a solution.

  When you run Bridge CS3, images there Bridge CS4. There is no export function I know (is there?). How to do everything that is in Bridge CS3 to CS4 appears before I have remove the CS3 applications?  (this macbook pro that I use was responsible for CS2 days until CS4... I have inherited at work and need to make room but still keep intact images, I never used before Bridge all noob help is appreciated)

  Bridge creates only preview thumbs for its own library of cache and not the

  You can uninstall safely CS3 without loss of images. However you will need to

  to cache the images again at the opening of CS4, but that takes some time.

  You will need to re-create new areas of work for the PS and the bridge, and then set

  preferences back to your wishes, but that is only once. Keep in mind that

  actions and brushes that you have created or loaded onto your CS3 application not

  automatically copy. Better PS CS3 save you first in a folder, you can

  Your CR2 files the 60 d are not supported for your version of ACR.

  Each provider uses different kind of Raw and sadly enough they also use another type of crude oil for every new camera produces. Adobe offers a free upgrade for the cameras, about 3 or 4 times a year. In the past, that they could not get new types of Raw earlier while consumers so often that meant you had to wait a long time before the ability to ACR was there. Today, they have a better relationship and often get pre model of production for the updates are already there when new cameras are entering the market.

  However being a commercial company, they don't offer upgrades for others then the latest versions of Photoshop and ACR. Currently, CS6 and CC are both get updates but the previous version don't are not updated any longer.

• Bridge CS4 image previews are too small

  In Bridge CS4, can't do the preview images to show something larger than a large thumbnail view, see the image below.  I tried all the preferences in the Edit menu (miniatures for example: do not treat more game to 10 000 MB files, cache options are keep 100% previews in cache export checked/automatically cache files when the size slider possible checked / cache is set to 50%, rendering software saw size of monitor checked/unchecked/generate checked).  None of these options change anything for the size of the preview image.  I have a XOC DX10.1 ATI Radeon HD4890 1 GB, so my video card is not the issue.  I am running Windows 7 Ult x 64 on ASUS P8P67 Deluxe with 16 GB of RAM and over 2 TB of HARD drive space.   Also, these images are showing everything in the image of the AI, not individual images in each file.  How to show individual images in each file HAVE as if they were separate pictures, like Illustrator?

  

  I don't know anything about the .ai or Illustrator files.  But I think would be it has something to do with how IIlustarator saves the file.  Look to see if there are other options.  As can a test you convert the .ai to another form and see the evolution of the size of the thumbnails?

• Selection of a filename in Bridge CS4

  Is it possible to copy - paste a file name only in Bridge CS4? I use a Web site to sell things that I do and this framework requires me to download pictures of these things in my shop on the Web site. When I use the uploader of image on this site, I need to go my hard drive to find the image file I want to download and I was not able to find a way to copy the name of the file only, so for now I export images to my office so they are easier to locate with the uploader of the image.

  If I could stick the file name (all my image file name is dated_numbered) in the search bar, it would be so much more convenient than a) exporting to the office, then deletion when I'm done, as I do now.

  If you have selected a file and press the F2 key, the file name without extension is selected automatically. Cmd + C, you can copy this name.

  But why not select the files you want to download and put them in a subfolder of your main folder. Your image uploader, you can select this folder and downloading your files is a piece of cake.

  You can also rate files and/or label to set your choice easier and with the Panel filter, select the criteria you gave. This will find the files instantly and those that can be easily put in a new folder. It is easier to work a main with nested subfolders folder and a folder with many files it contains

• Keywords in Bridge CS4 - Delete when the bridge is narrow.

  I went through and applied tags to hundreds of images, with a respective hierarchy as well. As long as bridge remains open and turned on my computer I have access to sort and find files based on keywords.

  'Closing bridge': and all the keywords are missing from the keyword pane, with the exception of a few who are present with bridge as examples that are always there.

  I can re - select all images and keywords will load again in the keyword pane, but that takes time to manage.

  It's like some preferences file does not play, or key words are not saved in the keywords pane. I loaded this app from Photoshop CS4 again.

  One person suggested I go to preferences and UN-click 'Keywords read hierarchy' then open all my image files and even once, click on the pictures to reload the keywords in the keyword pane again. Then return to the preferences and re - click Read hierarchy of the keywords again, and everything to be in order. I did twice, once with starting point before clicking the RHK button again.

  Yet after two years of Bridge CS4, I can't use this function to search for images.

  And Yes, I select a folder or installation disk for bridge to look for key words.

  After all this time, someone to solve the riddle of trying to make this work. I can't update my Mac. I have a PowerPC, Quick Silver, 2002 G4 1000 double. 10.4.11 is the latest operating system, I believe that I can use.

  Are you italicized keywords?  If so, they are temporary and will go away when the bridge is closed.  They will repopulate when the image is open.

  If this is the case right click on the keyword and choose 'make persistent '.

• Accident of Bridge CS4

  It took my IMac 40 minutes to close this afternoon. When I restarted, I got a message that BridgeCS4 quit unexpectedly. I clicked on the button submit the problem to Apple, but will not reopen the CS4. I tried to close and restart, but every time I get the same message and bridge is out of action. I was not yet using CS4 Bridge at the time wherever it happened first. CS4 opens automatically at startup, and it lies with the pse in the Applications folder. Everyone you have suggestions?   I would like to be able to have it automatically launch the new CS4 Bridge rather than his own version, but it will not.

  On Win7, they are stored in c:\Users\username> \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS4\Collections\ in the form of .filelist files, simply move them to the same folder tree but with CS5 instead of CS4

• Recovery of the Bridge CS4 keywords

  My hard drive crashed and I replaced with a new and improved the o/s to W7 from XP MCE simultaneously.  I got my PSD, JPEG and pictures from camera raw (canon CR2) of the old drive and when I started the bridge in the new facility but most of my "custom" keywords don't appear in the list of keywords, or they don't seem to appear in the EXIF data.  Is there a way to retrieve this info from the old disk image?  (this is the boot drive).

  The keywords under XP file should be here: C:\Documents and Settings\ [user] \Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS4\Adobe bridge Keywords.xml. You will need to copy to this folder to win7: c:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS4\

  This file contains only the list of keywords in the keywords Panel, when you apply keywords to your files, they are stored in the metadata of the files themselves, unless you're talking about in this case raw files, they must be stored in a. XMP file

  Glad to hear that the solution got bridge back to normal.

  Make a backup of your settings may be a bit of work.

  Most of your settings are available in your user profile (Documents and settings or users folder).

  There you should be able to make a backup of your work space (where you have saved your settings as a workspace).

  That being said - I've just sucked every time. Does not take long for my particular setup.

  And I have to press ctrl + shift to display the dialog box reset in Bridge CS4. Go figure.

• Bridge CS4 overview of NEF files is not updated

  Somewhere along the line, he stopped working for me. I can click on a thumbnail in Bridge CS4 to edit the file in Camera Raw.   If you have active quick thumbnails it will show no changes.  Need to have one of the HQ options enabled.
