  When I go to a specific image, keywords are there, even when the results of my research do say no images found.

  My questions would be:

  I am able to search for keywords on a server (from any computer with access to the server)?

  How can I search for keywords attached to the images that are buried in the 2-3 files?

  Hi Kim,

  Could you please confirm if you use bridge or bridge CC 2015 CC.

  On the local disk there is no problem if the images are buried under files.

  External drive or network drives there may be latency/performance issues, but you should be able to search for images using keywords ideally.

  I went through and applied tags to hundreds of images, with a respective hierarchy as well. As long as bridge remains open and turned on my computer I have access to sort and find files based on keywords.

  'Closing bridge': and all the keywords are missing from the keyword pane, with the exception of a few who are present with bridge as examples that are always there.

  I can re - select all images and keywords will load again in the keyword pane, but that takes time to manage.

  It's like some preferences file does not play, or key words are not saved in the keywords pane. I loaded this app from Photoshop CS4 again.

  One person suggested I go to preferences and UN-click 'Keywords read hierarchy' then open all my image files and even once, click on the pictures to reload the keywords in the keyword pane again. Then return to the preferences and re - click Read hierarchy of the keywords again, and everything to be in order. I did twice, once with starting point before clicking the RHK button again.

  Yet after two years of Bridge CS4, I can't use this function to search for images.

  And Yes, I select a folder or installation disk for bridge to look for key words.

  After all this time, someone to solve the riddle of trying to make this work. I can't update my Mac. I have a PowerPC, Quick Silver, 2002 G4 1000 double. 10.4.11 is the latest operating system, I believe that I can use.

  Are you italicized keywords?  If so, they are temporary and will go away when the bridge is closed.  They will repopulate when the image is open.

  If this is the case right click on the keyword and choose 'make persistent '.

  but the way I'm looking to write a key word letter-by-letter. Is it possible to get a drop down menu

  or something like that, where I can select a keyword in a list, so that I don't have to write the key word?

  If you try to use a keyword you can do a right click on the keyword in the keyword Panel and then choose just find it.  That will eliminate having to type in it and be fooled.

  CS4 software will not work under El Capitan (Mac OS X 10.11). The software is too old and will never be updated, because it is the end of life.

  You need to restore a previous version of the operating system or upgrade Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • It depends on what kind of work you do.
  • You can get rid of Photoshop elements 11, but I think you should keep the other application where you need it.
  • Adobe Bridge is the kind of an organizer.
  • The extension manager is used to install plugins adobe or third, but 4 CS is old enough, the most recent version is CC

  I think you can get rid of them, once you make sure you don't need those for your work.

• Images not appearing is not in the search by keyword in Bridge CS6

  I am using Bridge CS6, falling into persistent galleries of pictures (JPEG) and tagging them with keywords. When the time comes to do a search, a couple of these images are are ignored in the results. Other images with the same keywords are returned, but not these a few offenders.

  I tried to reset the bridge and purge central Cache.

  No idea why some files would be invisible to the search function?

  Well, after a reboot, purge central cache several times and reset bridge several times, I did apparently something in the right order and the problem is solved

  Looks like it was a bad file cache or preference.

  You would need 11 PSE to open these files directly in the PSE. Your options are:

  1. use DPP.

  2. download the free DNG Converter and allows to convert your raw files dng files that your version of the raw converter can open:

  3. upgrade to 11 PES, but that won't help at all.

  I know that in previous versions of bridge which came the names of files and folders as thumbnails in the content panel. Now, I noticed that Bridge CS4 in Windows 7 that the only way to know what that image, file, etc. is, would be to click on each one to get the name of the file in the Preview Panel. Some folders have a name placed on the top of the image file, but not all. I'm more interested to know what image file is a jpg, gif, psd, tif, etc..

  It's not a big deal... just make it a little easier to work.

  At the end of this line that you mentioned should show Photoshop with a little

  triangle. Pressing this will provide a submenu with batch / HDR

  Photomerge etc.

  If you don't have that control everything first to meet the preferences and see if, according to the

  Chapter startup scripts shows a checkmark in front of Photoshop. If it isn't

  Press top and reboot of the bridge and you should be OK

  If it's here or there is no Photoshop at all firstly try to restart Bridge

  with held low Key option and choose Refresh Pref. If still no luck you

  have to be installed in the wrong place or a bad installation. But you should

  provide more details on the system and where you have installed
