Bridge CS5 suddenly crashing with memory problems

Over and over again, many times a work meeting, bridge closes unexpectedly, saying he has a memory. I have WIndows XP, 4 GB of ram. Can you point me in the right direction to solve this problem? I was changing the wrong settings perhaps? Would it have happened when I had to remove my prferences Photoshop? Any help will be much appreciated because it makes me bats ~

Problems of memory do not necessarily mean RAM.  It can also mean

not enough disk space.

If you don't have at least 20% free space on your hard disk, you must delete the files or get a larger dirve.   Also, you may have free space, but you need a big block of contiguous space.  So delete temporary files and foreign programs and then defragment the HD.

I hope this helps.

    Hello everyone,

    I noticed that much, including myself, had the problem of the CC bridge crashing when faced with a mp4 file. Tried everything - nothing will do, including technical support.

    Now, I've discovered:

    I opened my Prev PS (CS5.1) version and it is the bridge attached (4.), open the folder with mp4 files and... NO PROBLEM to THE OLD bridge. NO crashes!

    ... Then, after that... I closed Bridge CS5/CS5 and reopened bridge CC 2015... now they work as well!

    Something in the old bridge needs to be formatted mp4 files anf now are compadible with CC Beidge.

    I should mention that the open mp4 files and he played very well when you open directly from Windows Media Player or other players.

    He was / IS the only CC bridge that hangs when opening a folder containing a mp4 file!

    Can this is for all the information - BUT - someone provide contacts to the Adobe product expert team or other places of forward this

    so that they can hopefully fix the problem?

    Thank you

    I think I solved the problem...

    Right click on Adobe Bridge CC in all programs (Start button) > properties > compatibility > check: "Run this program in compatibility mode" > then chose Win 7 If you Win 8. In my case, I have Win 7 64 bit and I put in Win7 in any case.

    Now all mp4 files work! After the importation of the camera AND after being returned in Movie Maker or Photoshop for example HD, YouTube, etc)

    (I shouldn't say mp4s 'open', because it was not the question. They always open and played Windows Rights. But the bridge crashed when just trying to built the thumbnail for the mp4 - when oprning the folder that contained the mp4.

    Looks like everything is good

  • How to make bridge CS5 to open with my saved workspace settings?

    Everytime I open the bridge he opens with large thumbnails in an old folder.  I have to "reset" my workspace (even if it is highlighted at the top of the page already!), then select the last folder I was working again.

    Is it possible to get the bridge to remember your last used folder and last parameter of workspace and just re - open with those already implemented?

    The current situation is just a lot more boring needless clicking.

    I tried all the options, I find in the preferences and tried to create and save different workspace settings, but nothing seems indeed how the Bridge opens the first time I use it in a session.  I'm under it on Windows 7.

    Thank you

    Clive

    You must disable "automatic loading at startup bridge."  I think it's in the preferences / advanced.  This option casues problems more then a few seconds, it saves loading.

    Settings won't stick with this option enabled, unless you leave the bridge first before to shut down the computer.

  • Problem with CS5 to crash during the insertion or deletion of page

    I have a legacy file (teaching manual) which was created in CS2 and has been edited and updated over the past two years with no problems. The file is about 360 pages, with about 30 illustrations, table of contents and index larger size. During the updating of the material today, I went back to insert a page because the text to overflow and InDesign crashed. This happens whenever I try to insert or delete a single page. I can insert a single page on the pages i to viii, but when I try to insert a page in InDesign Sec2:1 early crashes. I can open and close the file, and edit anywhere without any problem.

    If I insert 2 pages at a time, it works fine and I can run the text on the page. But when I delete the extra page that I don't need, it crashes. It doesn't seem to be specific to any specific master page in the file. I tried several times to export to an IDML file, reopen and save it in an InDesign file, but the same problem occurs.

    The same thing with the file on the same verson InDesign which is on my laptop. This problem does not occur with other InDesign files that I've created in the past. I need help. Thank you!

    I just thought some about this, so I'm glad you popped up again.

    Seems to me you have two choices, go back to the previous version which works and re-do much editing or try to fix later. If you want to go back, open the file and check the bey in the history of file holding the CTRL key while you choose about InDesign from the menu help. You will see the full backup history in the lower left corner of the dialog box. I check for the latest version, that it has been saved, then open the file in this version and export into .inx (in CS4 or earlier) or .idml .idml for CS5 or later, and then open the .idml in CS5 and save as a new .indd and proceed.

    The existing file, you can divide and conquer stuff, but like I said, I thought instead, and in your shoes I would probably ignore the first step and try to export to text marked for each story, and then build a new doc by placing the tagged text. If it seems to be OK, place the images again and go ahead.

    Whatever it is, I think you have some heavy lifting.

  • Bridge CS5 with CS4 files cache problem

    If I use Bridge CS4 on a directory, then open the directory even with Bridge CS5, bridge insist on rebuilding thumbnails and previews (as shown on the lower status line).    If I reopen it then the directory in Bridge CS4, it rebuilt again inches and previews - but only inches seem to be rebuilt.   Preferences in both versions of the bridge are "identical".  The bridge cache files are kept in directories of images.

    The construction of the cache seems to be pretty fast (faster than expected) - I don't know what, if anything, is being rebuilt.

    What is an operation expected?

    This poses some difficulties that I have 530 000 images (7 terabytes) on Bridge CS4 and the reconstruction of the files would literally take weeks to rebuild.

    Central cache built in Bridge CS4 allows not in Bridge CS5, as expected.  But there is a way to save a lot of time is the construction of a local cache in CS4, which will produce 2 hidden files '. '. BridgeCache «and» BridgeCacheT' in the same folder with your images.  After that when you open the folder in CS5, the thumbnails can get out of the local cache, which will be much faster to rebuild the cache.

    For reference, there are 2 ways to build the local cache:

    1. check the option "Automatically export Cache files when Possible" in preferences > Cache.  This will produce a cache local to each folder as you navigate so you don't need to worry about build manually.  It is unchecked by default.

    2. manually build a local cache for a folder and all its subfolders by innovation in the folder that you want to build, then the selece tools > Cache > build and Cache export, with the option "Export Cache files" checked, click 'OK '.

    Please try it and tell me if this solves your problem.

    Thank you!

  • CVI8.5 crashes with failure 'insufficient memory' after compilation

    Hello

    I used the 8.5 CVI to compile my project in debug mode.

    Before the last my latest changes short I could run the project without any problems.

    Now after beeing ready with the compilation nothing happens for awhile, then ICB crashes and an 'insufficient memory' message appears, sometimes a "a reminder of custom control triggered an exception" message.

    I noticed that in the moment just before the output of cams message memory the size of memory used virual windows goes suddenly to 2.86 GB.

    The pc has 2 GB of physical memory and 6 GB of virtual memory, at the same time is available free memory.

    If I change the debug to zero level, the software is functioning normally, so I think that there is no failure in the code.

    What is the problem?

    Hello JR,.

    Thanks for your message, you're totally right!

    After that I added a few features the problem had disappeared.

    The failure seems to be fixed in CVI 9.0, because the project has worked without adding features.

    I tried with different keyword in the forum, but I have not found this answer.

    Maybe it was the problem in finding that the theme of the threat has nothing to do with my problem.

    Thank you

    Hi Trevor,

    Thank you for the presentation of your test program. I was able to reproduce the 'out of memory' you were see and so I investigated this problem first. I'll try to tackle the problem of the acquisition of data/timer tomorrow.

    I confirm that this is a bug in CVI which was previously unknown - and which has been around for a long time, without being detected. The conditions that cause this bug manifest itself are extremely rare, but you were still 'chance' to replicate. Fortunately, there's a pretty easy fix that you can do which should make these conditions disappear.

    The problem occurs when, at some point during the connection phase, an internal memory allocation is requested for a list of the imported symbols, if the list size is between symbols 8187 and 8189. In the case of your project, it happened to be 8188. This list includes all the symbols that your project defines and also imports from all libraries (including the CVI libraries) associated with the project. It turns out when you added the new source file, the total came to be 8188. It depended entirely on what is in your project, of course, but also on the specific version of the CVI, you use.

    A workaround is to add some free in your source file functions, such as the total number of symbols will change. For example, I added the following code to myAsyncTimer.c, which was enough to no longer trigger the bug:

    void foo (Sub)
    {
    }
    foo1 Sub (Sub)
    {
    }
    foo2 Sub (Sub)
    {
    }
    void foo3 (void)
    {
    }
    void foo4 (void)
    {
    }
    void foo5 (void)
    {
    }

    I'm still sorry for the double trouble. I will then consider the other problem, and I'll let know you when I have more information.

  • Bridge CS5 crashes when opening

    Joseph Heller would be proud.

    Adobe Bridge, CS5 crashes when starting.  I downloaded Photoshop CS5 Extended, installed on my new MacBook Air (this computer has never seen any product of CSx).  Installed CS5 installed SC4 legacy serial number serial number, all right.  Photoshop works very well.  I installed all my plugins Nik and Bokeh Plugin.  All right.  I tried to launch the bridge, and it crashes during launch "not able to be achieved.  An unknown operating system error has occurred. "Adobe has released an update, I downloaded, but when installing, it crashes too (could not perform the update and provided a link to the Adobe support.)

    Hours later with Adobe ovens.  Tried:

    (1) by removing the PLIST file for bridge, no luck.

    (2) tried the trick of the Bridge Option to reset all the preferences in Bridge, no luck.

    (3) bridge created a new account Admin, connected to it, worked.

    (4) technical support adobe says it's now a problem with Apple because the program has worked with the new admin account.

    (5) says Apple book sand, it is a program of Adobe, it should work regardless of what admin account.

    (6) back to Adobe, talked to anyone at the third level (always 1), it's an Apple problem.  He suggests to disable Photoshop, uninstall Photoshop, run a clean script (that I just downloaded but haven't tried) which will remove all the files that have to do with CS5 uninstaller doesn't uninstall (completely logical), re - download and reinstall everything, yet once (I've not tried yet).

    Do a Google search for crashing at the opening of the bridge reveals a frightening amount of comments with people having similar problems (don't even get started me on Adobe Air).

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Arnie...

    Hey Arnie,.

    We have this (former) document on the problem that you describe. The solutions are still valid.

    Troubleshoot unexpected behavior that occurs only in a particular user account. Adobe on Mac OS software

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/408/kb408993.html

    Here are the locations of specific Bridge preferences, you can try to pass Bridge CS5 files the following paths on the desktop to ensure all get recreated and exist. I know that you had mentioned the PLIST one already in #3.

    [It] in the path would be your specific user account.

    If your user account was not all permissions of read/write on any of these directories, which could also be the cause.

    1. users / [user] / Library/Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS5
    2. users / [user] / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CS5.
    3 com.adobe.bridge4.plist file located in the users / [user] / Library/Preferences

    Hope this helps,

    Dave B

  • Bridge CS5 crashes repeatedly (CS4 too)

    A typical workflow for me is to open 4-5 (.dngs) in Camera Raw in bridge raw files, edit, save as TIFF, return to the bridge and move the raw files to a subfolder. My problem arises usually when I try to move the raw files. Bridge moves them, but at the same time it crashes. I can move 1 file at a time without crashing, but not 2 or more.

    I hoped CS5 would solve this problem, but it didn't. I trashed my prefs, several times. I purged the cache several times. I changed my openGL settings in Photoshop Basic. Every thing I try works for a short time (which means that for about an hour I can come 2 .dngs both in subfolders after backup/editing in Camera Raw). Then it stops working, and I'm back for repeated failures.

    I am under Photoshop CS5 x 64 in Windows 7, with 12 GB of Ram, a quad-core i7 processor and an ATI Radeon 4870 graphics card. Photoshop CS4 and now CS5, work like a dream; and that's of Camera Raw. I know Bridge cannot see most of this RAM, but I would really like that it works as well as it did in CS3, on a much older, slower machine for me.

    Is it a problem other people had? I was not able to find much about it in the forums or Google, only a solution involving a nVidia graphics card, which I did not. Oh-, I have the latest drivers for my graphics card, etc.

    Mary

    To change the compatibility mode to Windows 7

    • right-click on the icon for bridge

    • Scroll the properties to get the box properties of adobe bridge cs5

    • go to the Compatibility tab, in compatibility mode section

    • Select windows 7 in the drop-down list in the menu drop-down

    • Check run this program in compatibility mode in the check from the box.

    • Select apply and exit.

  • InDesign CS5 to crash on launch due to problem of fonts auto-activateur

    I had a problem where all the work I had been collecting would be more open in InDesign CS5 without crashing on startup. Just found out today that this has to do with the new feature in CS5 that reads fonts in your folder 'Document '. Once I renamed the folder files started opening up again. Is there a way to disable this feature in InDesign, or someone else has found another solution that does not involve renaming the folder on every job that I collect?

    I'm sure this is a known problem now, but I don't see anything happen when I did a search.

    It's an interesting Enigma...

    On the one hand you KNOW have two fonts with the same name but different types will cause a problem, but however ID will want to activate a font of this file, if it does not find the same police already active. When released, T1 fonts were not supported by the installed fonts in the Document, but I think it was one of the things added in 7.0.2 then maybe that wasn't such a good idea after all.

    I filed a bug on this at Adobe - feature request/Bug Report Form

  • Very frequent crashing with AE CS5

    So, I was installing a project quite long... just import all the files I needed and organize them. When I did, I dragged the first piece of footage in the editing and started to rub quickly to find the point I wanted to when BAM. System freeze. Thinking it was a thing of the time (since I had done a couple projects in the exact same environment already with zero problems), I rebooted my PC and reopen the project. Started scouring... this time my PC restarted itself. Now, I was starting to be afraid. It's two weeks since I paid the amount of $500 for CS5 Production Suite... the second most big investment I ever made in my short life.

    Anyway... This time I tried the project of switching to another drive. Has started rubbing when sound tinny ear shattering came through my helmet and my PC froze again. At that time I began to consider a career change. So now, I began searching on... Adobe says that opengl is probably the problem I went and disabled (no open project). Immediately after turning off, another accident... This time, a black screen. Rebooted... removed the GTX 470 hack who gave me access to the Mercury engine. Open A project... Crash. Restarted once more the hack of thought may be required a reboot to be deleted. As soon as I click on the shortcut of EI, I crushed again, said some things that would make sailors blush and made a sandwich for my nerves.

    I'm if close call to Adobe and begging for my license to be passed to the Mac version I can do my work on my MacBook Pro. Headaches PC in recent years... have aged me, I tell you.

    Maybe someone can help, though. My system is completely stable until I open AE that needs to open a portal to hell. My specs are:

    I7 920 @ 2.67GHz (without overclock)

    GTX 470 (without overclock)

    12 GB OF RAM DDR3 @ 1600

    64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium

    750 watt power supply (to avoid any problem of power)

    I tried other things:

    Deactivation of multiprocessing

    Rub through different sequences from various sources

    Delete preference files

    Avoid reflections on the gaping hole in my bank account

    Hi PatPeoples84,

    Yes it is possible, unfortunately it will probably come during the service.

    I recommend you contact the provider of the guarantee. In the United States, refurbished products are managed by another institution as new products. If you have any questions, thinking to send me a private message with your serial number and I'll help you get the correct coordinates.
