problem with memory card reader

bought an Acer C720 Chromebook in July, nine.  Now problems with memory card reader.  Sometimes he reads, sometimes it won't.  This can be corrected?

Hi PatPeoples84,

Yes it is possible, unfortunately it will probably come during the service.

I recommend you contact the provider of the guarantee. In the United States, refurbished products are managed by another institution as new products. If you have any questions, thinking to send me a private message with your serial number and I'll help you get the correct coordinates.

Thank you
Cory

    Hi all

We try to roll an office linked Clone pool that is used by our service accounts and as such, they need to be able to use for banking smart cards. We have installed all the necessary software on the machine of model (GemSafe Gemalto) and also one of our Thin Clients (Wyse V10L or C10LE) connected to the model directly via RDP with the card reader chip attached to ensure that different drivers installed correctly and all is well, the virtual machine is able to see the smart card reader.

The problem comes when spread us these machines up to the pool, the smart card reader is not detected at all. We tried to connect from the Client light view or via RDP directly to one of the linked Clone desktops and both meet the same problem, that is, the drive is not seen at all. If we plug/unplug the drive of the Wyse terminal we see it be detected in the log of the events on the Client itself.

Can what tools or newspapers we use side view or VMware to solve this problem?

To confirm, in the settings to connect to the server by smart card authentication is set to optional. In Global political USB access is set to allowed.

If need more information please ask and I will be happy to provide it.

    Thanks in advance.

Right, we got to the bottom of it... and I am kicking myself!

There is a GPO side configuration of the active computer. Administrative Templates/Windows components/Remote Desktop Services / Remote Desktop Session Host / Device and resource Redirection - do not allow redirection of card device chip.

  • X 230-problem with Driver card reader

    Hello!

I found a bug with the card reader Driver. I use Windows 8 x 64 and with installed Driver card reader, I often have a high CPU usage after waking from stand-by. It is caused by the SYSTEM process. In investigating this, I discovered that it was caused by the module of the driver for the card reader. I uninstalled and you have no problems since.

Am I the only one to go through this and I have no disadvantage to uninstall this driver?

    Hi TPuserX100e,

I'm glad you found the cause of this! I experienced it myselfand so far have not noticed any bad Effect to use the generic driver.

    I hope this helps!

  • Memory card reader problem

I have a HP Pavilion dv5-2134us running Windows 7, 64 bit.  In the past, worked the small memory card reader to the front.  It does not now.  There must be a switch somewhere in the device manager - not to conclude.  There must be some downloadable HP driver - was not found.

    1. There is absolutely no problem with the camera (s).  Same model, several units.

    2. There is absolutely no problem with the memory chips.  Down them on another laptop HP as well last night.

    3. I checked to see if pins were crooked on the card reader-not.

    What is the solution?

I need a specific link to windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit driver for the memory chip card reader.

I need a specific way to find the on/off switch in the Device Manager.

If you run the operating systems Windows 95, 98 and old, be aware that Microsoft has changed names, places and so on.  So, tell someone what has worked 5 years ago may not work today.

    Hi @bdcochran01 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read on your HP Pavilion dv5-2134us Entertainment Notebookand of problems with a memory card or a player.  Here is a document on the memory card reader troubleshooting.

Sometimes, Windows 7 will not allow any change in the drivers here is a solution for this.

First of all, try to click on the Windows icon, type services in the start search box, and then click or tap on the advice of local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type must be - automatic and the service status should be - started
Restart the computer after this stage and try to reinstall.

Here is a link to the software for the Alcor Micro Card Reader, to make sure that it is installed.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • The M70-267 Satellite internal memory card reader does not work

    Hello

Internal memory card reader no longer works on my M70-267.
Device Manager reports the error with the driver of the bus PCI 6 mass storage controller, device 4, function 3.
The first problem, the result of this is?

    Help, please
    thanx

    Hello

Yes, this mass storage controller could be the card reader. So, you can try to reinstall the drivers, which can be downloaded here:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

or you can remove it from the Device Manager and restart your machine

or, if that didn't help then you should send your machine to a service partner chartered for an assessment of health/repair of equipment.

To find the closest, you can check out this site:

  • Satellite L670-DX1 - after the installation of SP1 cannot use the memory card reader

    Hello

Since I upgraded my Satellite L670-DX1 of Win7 64 bit to Win7 64-bit SP1 (2 days ago) I can't use my memory card reader, he always says it is a bad card and I should reformat the card with any card.

Does anyone have a similar problem or better yet a solution for me?

    Greetings

You have installed SP1 using Windows update option?
Have you tried to roll back the OS to an earlier time to see if the card reader is working properly again?

Have you tried reinstalling the driver of the card reader?

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 15-J104sa memory card reader does not

I took delivery of a HP Touchsmart from Envy 15 - J104sa, running Windows 8.1 this week and the internal memory card reader does not work. It does not recognize SD cards (I tried more than one) and continues as if nothing has been inserted; Don't display an error message. The cards work on my previous HP laptop. The only way to get the laptop to show an inserted SD card is to run the driver software update (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63001-63500/sp63415.exe) whenever an SD card is inserted; This must be done with the card in the reader. If the software is running and then the card nothing happens. If the card is ejected and then re-inserted (or a new card inserted) it is not recognized and the process must be restarted and the driver reinstalled even though nothing has changed.

Can someone please help me with this question or I'll have to go back to the HP laptop. I do a lot of photography so being able to read fast and reliable SD card is extremely important for me; It is not a problem, I was expecting a new laptop all right out of the box.

    Thanks to you all.

Unfortunately not, updates of driver solves the problem, but an update of the BIOS through the HP helper application seems to have resolved the issue. While I appreciate there were not specific drivers available in my opinion, it is difficult to accept that HP should be able to release a model where they know the equipment are not fully supported by the operating system and in this case does not work.

  • Windows XP prevents me from installing the new hardware as my Canon camera and memory card reader.

original title: problem with new hardware

last week, windows xp prevented me from installing new hardware, namely a canon digital camera and a memory card reader. Although the system recognizes the material into the machine, when you are looking for auto install it asks me for the service pack 3 cd, which I did not. I never had problems, install new hardware before. Any ideas why this happens?

    Hello

    · What is the service pack installed on the computer?

    · What is the model number of the canon camera?

    · What is the exact error message that you receive with error code if any?

If you have installed service pack 3 on the computer then you can try the method and check them off below if it helps:

Change the registry to point to the installation of Windows XP Service Pack 3 files

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: How do I back up and restore the registry in Windows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

    a. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. find the following registry key:

    c. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

    d. in the right pane, right-click ServicePackSourcePath, click on edit, type % windir%\ServicePackFiles, and then click OK.

Just guess... could this be a hardware problem?

If you have more than one port... try USB to another.

Maybe you can connect the camera to your laptop via
USB cable and see if you can download your photos.

  • suddenly, my memory card reader does, no idea why?

Suddenly, my memory card reader no longer works, any ideas on why it has stopped working?

    Hello

If you can not get the card reader to work, it can be replaced or an external card reader is not
    Dear.

They go bad sometimes. Try these:

/ Settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start then look at the screen - make sure that the USB port is enabled.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control Panel - Device Manager - hard disk - drive SD card or similar - double click - tab driver-
Click on update drivers (this likely will do nothing that MS is far behind the certifying drivers) then right click
    following the UNINSTALL.

Now bring the controllers USB - right click - UNINSTALL everything in category one at time EXCEPT
the category itself - REBOOT. This will refresh the USB driver stack.

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

    Do 1 above.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices currently connected to your computer, as well as
all USB devices that you previously used. Run Options and check the 1st three choices to see if one is
it. you can remove all instances of the drive and restart again.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/usb_devices_view.html

Start - type in the search box - Windows Disk - find Windows Disk Management on the list above.
Right-click - look RUN AS ADMIN to see if there is a drive letter assigned or a conflict.

Check with the manufacturer of your system for the updated drivers - some card readers to do not use windows
    drivers.

I want to help you with this. Follow the steps I found posted by @pcwizard

Follow these steps to map the card reader

    1. Insert the memory card into the printer
    2. open my computer
    3. click on network drive mapping
4 Select the letter of the drive you want and enter the folder \\192.168.1.101\memory_card

Note: replace the 192.168.1.101 with the IP address assigned to your printer.

    5. click on finish, and the Player opens for access to the files

If it still does not work, look at the following memory card troubleshootingdocument. If however this does not resolve the problem, please let me know, thanks. I cross my fingers.

  • says «Download and install the driver for memory card reader»

Have a HP Compaq 2510p laptop with Window 7 Professional. In the center of the Action, it is said to download and install the driver for the memory card reader. When I do that, it says the following:

This solution could not be downloaded most likely causes:

    • Your computer was unable to download the solution at this time. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet and then try to download the solution later.

Internet works and tried repeatedly, without success. There is also a vertical line on the screen of the computer that is still increasing so much width every day. Is this related?

    Thank you

The vertical line is a strong indication that your screen is failing.  You will need a technician to replace it.  It will be not cheap.  Make sure that they install EXACTLY the good screen.

Your computer is capable of displaying web pages?  If so, it is online and there is another problem that causes this download produce this message.

Go to the HP support website and find your computer model.  Then find the driver, you need and download and save to your desktop.  Once you do this close the browser, and then double-click the update of the driver.

  • DM4 memory card reader won't read the Extreme Pro Sandisk SDHC card

I have a dm4-1201us and the built-in memory card reader will not read my Sandisk 16 GB SDHC Extreme Pro memory card. I can read with an external drive, but prefer to use the internal drive. I think that HP needs to update the memory card driver reade.

I solved the problem by inserting the memory card into the internal drive. Then I opened the Device Manager and found the drive, which was a mistake on the Bill. I deleted this device and check the 'delete the driver '. I did a restart and now it reads SDHC cards.
