• Adobe Bridge search tool just stopped working

  I've recently updated to CS6 and everything was fine for a few weeks then all of a sudden the search in bridge tool just hard has stopped working. I have always used to search for keywords and it worked almost perfectly until today. I have thousands of photos on multiple hard drives and ive even tried their indexing without result. nothing works. I've used the search bar at the top right as well as the window search and still nada. I purged the cache, I rebuilt the cache and done everything I could think again about nothing doesn't. Ive google and google and google and found absolutely no help in resolving this issue. I have reset the bridge during the startup also to nothing does not. I even indexed specific files in specific folders, and did research directly to these files and still nothing. I don't know what else to try at this point. can anyone offer suggestions before that I have quit and all re - install the product (which I REALLY don't want to do)?

  im running CS6 on Windows 7 64-bit... and once again, it has worked until today. I have not modified parameters or changed everything I can think of that would have thrown off kilter bridge.

  Weird. Have you tried to reset the bridge (Ctrl/Cmd-click the icon)?

  Maybe the cache is damaged or unwriteable?

  I suppose that the index is created in the folder "data" cache, and it is the root of your problem.  As an experiment, you could create a new folder in a location accessible by well known writing on a hard drive internal and change the location of the cache in Bridge preferences (make a note of the current location first). When you restart Bridge, it uses the new location and automatically create a new cache index and overview.

  Then, try a search in a folder, to a known used keyword, making sure that you have enabled in the search indexing options. Let us know how you go.

• Why site search help results instead of only web site results.

  When I search something in the search box of Firefox Help, I have the results all over the web (with sponsored results) not only site-specific responses. I noticed this on several other websites as well. It makes no difference if I just click on the arrow or the search for the button of the site.
  The search engine is perhaps fed by an external server which now has decided to give answers off-site as well as specific answers site?

  The removers spyware has not helped. Then I typed about: config in the toolbar URL and then sought an "intermediary". I have reset the default of all values that containedconduit.com or the led - services.com. Search of each function then returns to normal. Then I also reset all references of "Community Toolbar" that contains "intermediary".

  Click Start, run and then typing "sfc/scannow" without the quotes in the text box. Click OK.

  It could ask for a system disk.

  When you are finished with this go to Microsoft or Windows Update and get all updates.

  Restart your computer and try again.

  Help and Support in Windows Vista is designed to help with common questions of interest for the new user.  Command line features are generally not used at this level and not included in every detail.

  Most of the people who are familiar with using the command line will appeal to help from there.  It will give more detailed instructions and help the syntax for various orders.  Example from the command prompt:

  >ipconfig /?

  Returns the following:

  USE:
  [/allcompartments] ipconfig [/? | / all |]
  / renew [map] | Enough [map] |
  /renew6 [map] | /Release6 [map] |
  /flushdns | / displaydns | /registerdns |
  /showclassid card |
  [/ information adapter [classid]]

  where
  login name of the map
  (wildcard characters * and? allowed, see examples)

  Options:
  /? Display this help message
  / all display full configuration information.

  The default is to display only the IP address, subnet mask and

  leases for the cards related to TCP/IP is released or renewed.

  For information, if no ClassId is specified, the ClassId is removed.

  Examples:
  > ipconfig... Display information
  > ipconfig/all... Display detailed information
  > ipconfig / renew... renew all cards
  > ipconfig/renew EL *... renew any connection that has its
  name starts with EL
  > ipconfig enough * Con *... release all matching connections,.
  for example. "Connecting to the LAN 1" or

  You can do it with any command at the command prompt.  You can also just type help and it will display a list of commands.

  If you have the following AV, antivirus, programs installed, close your Windows Defender. Purpose of these AVs have their own advocates. 2 defenders on the same machine will create conflicts.
  Bottom line: it's ok. It's normal.
  List of AVs which will stop Windows Defender:

  Norton
  McAfee
  AVG
  Microsoft Security Essentials

  If the above does not apply to start you, here is the method of re - Windows Defender:

  Start button > in the search box, type Services > press the Enter key > scroll to find Windows Defender, click on it >...
  topic status , it must be said... Has begun
  under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
  If it does not say that, right click on Windows Defender > click Properties >
  in Startup Type, click on the pointer to the right and select automatic

  You can use the new functionality of ndata 11g, as shown below. It requires a multi_column_datastore or user_datastsore. You also need a ndata_section. Then, you use the store of data and ndata_section in the index settings. You can then use ndata in your query. You also must either insert your data before you create your index or set your index to synchronize on commit or synchronize after insertion before you can query the indexed values.

• Bridge CS3 help or no metadata info at random.

  I couldn't find a post about this, so I started this one. Have we never saw a problem like the one I will say? Please, forget my bad English writing skills.

  In fact, I use adobe bridge to add keywords and descriptions in the IPTC Core metadata for download later in an image bank. But just a phew days there, he began to lose the information that I took a few pictures. No matter what I do, but after the closing and reopening of the program, it randomly selects wich information to record. As far as I know, bridge is not a record of command, it automatically saves the changes in the metadata profile. But in my case, for some reason it isn't (not just the IPTC core, but everything I write in any field of metadata can be saved or deleted at random, as the bridge).

  Here's a phew questions I have in how to solve this problem and to keep my workflow:

  -Is there a way I can manually record the information that I write in the IPTC core?

  Y did update or bug fix I can do?

  -Is it possible to save the batch and preset commands I have in my deck so I can reinstall the program without losing their? or in any case, I can send them to another computer?

  If you do a montage in RAW, you will get a XMP files, unless you have possibility to DNG, and then it is written to the image.  What else creates an XMP file, I'm not sure.

  I tried you have case, and I get the same results. I also tried with the soundex function "!" and gives me the result, so I tried this:

  The difference is the "!" in front of the searchterm. Is this really the solution to your problem?

  I recently bought a gently used Canon 1ds mark ii body for portraits indoors mainly as a backup of my 6 d and I find myself to consider taking along my family reunion in August. My question is what tripod would you recommend all who could bear the weight of it set on a Canon EF 28-300mm usm Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS usm? I have worn these lenses round, never in the same time, however, attached to my 6 d or my 50 d and addressed just the weight (in my arms a little stronger) outings my zoo... but I feel like a tripod will be necessary here (also, I have rings of tripod for both lenses) cause with the 1ds they make for a bestial combo. I have a tripod of bower, on that I used my 6 d/50 d with smaller lenses, but it seems weak for my taste for the big stuff so I'm not going to it. Help?

  In the tripods and the device you use on them, three things are most important: stability, lightness and low price. As with so many similar choices in life, you can have two of the three. You do seem like a photographer who believes that a tripod is essential to daily life. It sounds as if you take the tripod at the meeting, it allows to take group photos of your parents (with or without yourself in the image) and then store it in the closet until the next similar event. Given that, I would look for a tripod head and affordable ball which is clearly strong enough to handle your camera and its larger lenses and not worry about the weight. My use is about like yours (if I'm right about you), and I opted for a Benro (in fact two, a large format and a table top), one of the brands that Tim recommended. They are heavy but very stable, and they are working well. If you are partial to the Arbor, I think it is perhaps a mark of House B & H, they probably have comparable models.

• CS4 Extended User: 32 GB of photos of the session will not download through Bridge.  Help!

  First time poster here.  I am running CS4 Extended on my old Windows 7 PC for one year.

  I did 13 mini sessions over the weekend.  I am a portrait photographer and have had ZERO problems with my CS4 extended last year.  I always upload my photos through the bride (and Adobe Photo Downloader). I adjust them in Adobe Camera Raw, and then open them in Photoshop.  No problems so far.

  I shot 8 of my sessions on a 32 GB card.  Usually, it takes minutes to get the images out of my card.  Now?  It takes DAYS. I realize that 32 GB is a lot trying to download everything at once, so I'm decaying clustered image 100-200 each.  But everytime I try it, my Photo downloader block eventually.  I HAVE to get these images out of my cards as soon as possible!  Help!

  Symptoms:

  (1) the thumbnails ALWAYS take to generate

  (2) when I click on the images to download, they take forever to download (as... hours... for 100 images).

  (3) after an hour or two, the Photo Uploaders no longer works and I have to close the program.

  I tried:

  (1) restart the computer - 6 x without result

  (2) turn off my norton 360

  3) update my Adobe and Photoshop - all software up to date

  WTH is happening?

• Auto-Keywords on import/sync search help parameters

  I have a folder that I sometimes add external files to by synchronizing it... when I do this, every photo, I add has 4 specific keywords assigned, I know that I put it to somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me remember, or find where and want to stop!  When this setting could have access? When I do the actual sync it does not give me any how 'file settings option'... and I can't find nowhere elsewhere in the General preferences, or what you have. strange.

  If the keywords are added automatically, it is likely that you left in the import dialog box. On the lower left side of the import dialog box, you should see them. Their removal should take care of your problem.  This isn't a settings folder option and I wish this would have a box to give an option to retain or not. As it is, he remembers everything that was listed on the previous import.

• Why can't I do a search in my external hard drive using Adobe Bridge CS6?

  When I open Adobe Bridge CS6 and try doing a search within my external hard drive, it will give my internal hardisk results only? This is the 1st time that I encounterd this strange issue. For this reason, I do my research with windows and then browse each result with bridge! which is really annoying.

  I solved the problem go on the search field and clicking the search icon where he will give a drop-down list of the 3 options, and then selecting bridge search: current folder and that solved my problem. Thanks for all help

  You can search for an external drive if the operating system permissions are OK.  Bridge, however, will not look on different drives.
