Brightness low contrast/min during a turn on Satellite Pro L300

When I turn my laptop on and when the Office lights, the screen is low contrast/mi-luminosite.
It stays like that for about 10 seconds, then it flickers and goes to a screen brightness/contrast high.

I want to get my screen similar to how it is for the first 10 seconds when the Office lights. My screen at this moment is very mixed, making it difficult to look at a few pictures (particularly those taken inside as in a club). As far as I know, there is no button to adjust the contrast on the laptop.

I tried to play with the brightness button, but it does not help. I also tried display settings in the control panel and also tried to right click on the desktop that makes me the graphics properties. But I can not this low contrast/mid-brightness screen I see first.

I vaguely remember when I first set up my computer there is an option for high-low contrast and if I remember correctly, I chose a high contrast which, in retrospect, was a mistake. How can I go back and change it.

I called toshiba, not a lot of help. They suggested I have reinstall the display driver? How can I do this?

and it sounds like a graphics card problem?

soon :)

I don't know if you are meaning the same display brightness contrast/min, but usually you can alter the brightness of the screen using FN + F6 or FN + F7 m key combination

This key combination is present for all portable Toshiba and you might find the info in the user manual as well.

  • During BIOS update by Satellite Pro A60 went down and did not start

    Hi all

I have a Satellite Pro A60 and I've updated the bios. To halfway the update, my laptop came down and started Hasna´t since. It only give a couple of beeps (trying to tell me the bios is damaged, I guess) and turns off again.

Tried to start with (~) key pressed (a tip I received from a friend), but without success.

I live in a country where there is no available Toshiba dealer and I rather not ship the laptop for repair.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    This doesn't sound good.
If during the POST, the BIOS detects a problem, it will normally display an error message visual on the monitor explaining what the problem is. However, if a problem is detected before it initializes BIOS video card or a video card is not present or not detected then BIOS will play through the Speaker beeps to let you know there is a problem.
Depending on the type of BIOS you have the BIOS can play beeps in a specific pattern to indicate what the problem is, or emits the signal even a few times indicating the problem.

In your case, it is possible to s you used a bad BIOS or bad BIOS procedure. Both can damage the motherboard.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - PSLB9E - cannot turn off wifi except for by Win 7

I installed Win7 64 bit with a custom installation (replacing 32-bit Vista). I have updated all drivers (to my knowledge) and BIOS to 2.1. The wifi is always enabled, any position of the switch on the front or the combination Fn + F8. I can unplug a wifi service in the network Panel Win 7. This may seem like a good problem to have, but the power gets used when on battery. Obvious pointers? I can't follow up? Thank you very much.

You can likely install toshiba value added package for win 7 if it is available.
I also have the same problem with mij L40 pro and value pack for Windows 7 will not install on my laptop.
Maybe it wil last updated in the future.

I think that you are good to go now on what I believe that it will keep the setting that you created.

I don't know if CCC has an option to save these settings. He can just leave them until you change it again.

Shut down the computer then turn it back on again, then check the settings to make sure.

Note that if you ever update the ATI driver or update the software of the CCC, you may lose these settings.

I'd write them down to safety on a case where you need to refer to them.

If you use a calibrator as a Spyder (for example), you want to leave the CCC at default settings first, calibrate with the screen reader, then adjust CCC after for tweaking final with the brightness and contrast.

To those who don't have not one built in graphics port. If you decide to extend your display Omni with a 2nd monitor, you can use a graphic like this USB card adapter. If you do, an external monitor is better than the built-in screen year only elon on what you buy. Amazon.com: StarTech USB to VGA video output Also, if you have a 2nd monitor already setup and the built in screen dies (All in One are known for this) the 2nd monitor will generally continue to work and you can always access the computer easily. Cannot override the built-in screen.

So, as you already know, do not rely on your photos being stored only on the hard drive of the Omni. Use external backups.

If my advice was useful, please indicate the appropriate post as solved.

    Thank you.

  • Adjusting Brightness and contrast on the Satellite L550-113

I am a user with low vision and I think buy the Satellite L550-113, but before I do that I need to be sure that the adjustable screen brightness/contrast very easily, preferably through the orders of material as opposed to via the control panel. I also need to make sure that we can do (i.e. too dull for a non-disabled user) rather dull screen.

Could someone give advice on how to adjust the screen contrast and brightness on Toshiba L550-113? In addition, the screen has a glossy or matte finish?

General information about the quality and ease of use of the screen will be very useful and much appreciated! Thank you.

    Hi mate!

Yes, the brightness of the screen can easily adjust via the FN keys. You have to press FN + F7 to increase the screen brightness and FN + F6 to decrease the brightness of the screen. In addition, in Vista power management you can also adjust the brightness of the screen and save settings for profiles of different powers and block or power mode.

AFAIK Satellite L550 has a brightness screen like any other portable satellite.

    I hope I could help a bit! :)

  • Detect the shift in two consecutive low contrast images

    Hello

To determine how fast a sample of ice sliding USB camera (rate of about of 30 mm/min) I head to align an image every 5 ~ 10 sec and then compare the two images. I'm fighting to get a robust method to determine the displacement. The main displacement will be that in a sense however ice may move a few pixel widths in the other direction as it slides in front of the camera.
Currently I am comparing the two images taking a large (400 x 800 pixels) KING of the second picture, then taking the pixel values average of all the columns in the two images that then allows me to subtract 1 d arrays that result and find the position where the difference is minimal.
This works very well for the "perfect" images but no longer reliable with less then perfect images.
Because the images are samples of ice with very little "features" (not counting the odd are bubbles) and low contrast, I feel that I have to rely on profiles in levels of medium gray rather then a 'function' follow-up or detect an edge etc..

The berries average grayscale of the King plotted in the graph to see the clear peaks and valleys, so another method would be to match the data but I don't know how to do it again.

Any suggestions on how I can better determine the displacement between the images? The method should relatively quickly because it must be in 'real time', i.e. within seconds.

Thanks as always for all of your help.

    Jack

    Hi again

Advice of Follwing Mike subtract images I've played around with this feature and have now the principle works well.
In case someone else I would try something similar please see attached the VI and two images of the example that I used to experience.

Well yet, which doesn't seem to work, it's the method of detection of peak/Valley. Any width I put may not find the Valley... suggestions welcome!

    Have a great day.

  • Cannot change the contrast, brightness, etc. on Satellite Pro 4600. Help please.

I can't control the contrast, brightness, Saturation etc... using the control panel of Trident in my Satellite Pro 4600. Could someone help me to activate these controls?
    Thanks in advance
    Andrea

    Hello Andrea,

normally, you can change this settigs in the Panel, but to explain the way to change this would be nice to know what operating system you have installed.

If you have the perinstalled Os, it might be that you have Win2000.

    Win2000:

Go to the control panel - display - Advanced control and then you could choose between video, color or television.

The Brightess could be changed to energy-saving, because the brightness depends on your setting of power.
Battery high brightness mode could reduce your battery power!

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download the Intel HD graphics installer on the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp63001-63500/sp63064.exe

Once finished, download the Chipset driver on the following link andreinstall.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp62001-62500/sp62417.exe

Once resettlement Chipset completed, do not restart as a guest, rather open your download folder, right-click on the Intel HD graphics card installation program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.

When this is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking the function keys f2/f3.

    Kind regards

PC is a Dell Vostro 1510, it is only a couple of years.

    Can someone please?

The initial problem was that the PC did not go beyond the page of Windows to start upward. So I had to do an installation of the Dell windows XP disk repair. But I couldn't boot from the CD, (even after changing in the system BIOS boot order) to work around this problem, so I had to disable the boot on the other upward options being - HDD, USB etc. so only if it start from the disc.

After completing the first part of the repair facility, the PC restarted to complete the second part of the installation, however I got an error message "the Kernel32.dll file is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the checksum calculated.

After some research, I solved this problem by using the windows recovery console to extract a new copy of the kernel32.dll from the windows XP disc. It seemed to work. The second part of the window repair facility restarted successfully, but now the problem is it will not complete installation, it gets stuck/not will not go beyond the 26 minute mark during the phase of "complete installation."

It has been full of hiccups. I'm not a person of computer tech at all, but have managed to get so far at this stage.  Can someone please please help, very much appreciated.
    Thanks :)

  • control of the brightness and contrast of the HP Pavilion G4 1310au

Hello. I just got a new HP Pavilion 1310au G4.  My problem is that he did not have any operating system installed and if no system driver have been installed either.   In the box I've only had a CD that has power cord Manual HP in it and nothing else and the laptop of course, bag and some manual printed.  I expected to see a system disk CD so I could install the drivers in the system, but I have not found one.

So I installed the operating system and then install the network driver that I downloaded from another computer and also audio.  My problem is that I can't find a laucher that would help me control the brightness and contrast of the screen.  I tried the FN and F3 or F2 keys, but it did not work.

Can someone help me how I can control the brightness and the contrrast or even better if there's a launcher software where I can control all the features of this laptop? Furthermore, I don't know how to enable bluetooth either.

    Any help is very appreciated.

    Hello:

You probably also need to install the graphics driver there is the support page and the driver of your laptop...

After installing the graphics driver, you should be able to use the function keys to control the brightness.

You can also install the quicklaunch software that allows the other function keys.
