Broadcom Netlink NIC driver required

Hello

I installed Windows 8 Pro (clean installation) on my HP DX7400. It is now double boots Win8 or Win7.

Win7 works as before, but does not connect Win8. It turns out that no driver installed for the card Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet. Asked to Broadcom and they say the adapter is EOLed, not supported under Win8.

PC connected with 3 g Galaxy Tab attached and fine all connected.  Driver update search and seems to find a driver but it fails with a message about a mistake in the INF file.  Suspect it's a Win7 driver.

Anyone know of a driver that will work with this PC and NIC?

Thank you

Hi Paul

I'm also surprised that Broadcom did not work

However

I had a sniff around the mancave and found a very old Realtek RTL8139/810 x NIC (PCI).  Its recognized by win7 times and 8.

WIN8 is now character very well... all I have to do is figure out if its worth all the trouble.

The PC gets all upset if I copy stuff from one system to the other (both on the same disk) and may require chkdsk, I have through the other hard drive to keep happy file systems.

See you soon

Ian

I'm trying to update the CARD driver for a HP 6710 b with XP, the NETWORK card is a Broadcom NETLink network card, when I try to download and install that latest Windows Broadcom does not allow me to install it, saying not to install this driver.

The only driver on the HP support site is from 2007 and the driver is dated 12/2006.

I don't know why HP did not update the NIC since they should of at least given users more options for these drivers.

    Thank you.

Thank you it seems to have worked even though the installer said it was for a map of NetXtreme NETWORK rather than a NetLink.

  • Broadcom netlink gigabit card does not connect to 1 Gbit/s, auto negotiate connects to 10 Mbps

    Hello

I am very satisfied with my purchase Alienware Aurora ALX and happy to be part of this community.  However, I have this problem:

Does not connect to 1 Gbps Ethernet adapter; Here's what I've tried so far:

    (1) confirmed that my router is able to support Gigabit Ethernet.  I have two other devices connected to the same speed (an old PC and NAS).

    (2) when I set the speed and duplex of the adapter auto negotiate, it will connect to 10 Mbps

    (3) I noticed that there is no setting for 1000 Mbps in speed and duplex options.

    (4) I tried 100 full duplex MB, it will connect, but my Internet connection slows down less than 1 Mbps (I'm on a 15Mbps connection and test the other PC it could reach around 14Mbps).

    (5) I then tried 100 MB half duplex, it will also link and my overall network performance is good.

    (6) I have confirmed that I have the current driver from Dell. I've had the computer for 3 days (using windows 7 by the way).

    (7) I tried all ports on my router and confirmed that the side of the router has also been on auto negotiate and not trying to force a specific speed.

I hope someone has a solution or suggestion for this problem.

    Kind regards

    Jason

    * SOLUTION * thanks in part to the previous article.

Here is the Giga speed solution that worked for my new Dell Studio 1458.  I've read a lot about speeds slow xfer using the Broadcom NetLink LAN connection.

There were two things I did not initially, but were in fact true.

    (1) you must use a CAT 6 line on ALL your machines capable of gigabit.  I though that a good line of Cat5e support giga speeds.  This isn't.

Card Dell NetLink is apparently, some initial negotiations with your router (a bit ' as a fax machine), then after seeing all of your connections.

    It will drop the xfer rate down to the lowest common component (i.e. the Cat5e cable).  And;

    (2) map of NetLink won't give you giga speeds in automatic selection (advanced ethernet properties, speed & duplex).  The speed and the duplex window will never

view 1000 MB!  You can check if your is10/100/1000 connection by double clicking on the icon of your connection to the Local network.

I checked the speed of my connection giga via a test utility and transferring a 200meg file.  The results indicate an increase in the speed of 12 MB/s to 26 MB/s.

These figures do not show a factor of ten speeds increase, we'd all have (so much), but they are in line with transfer rates of others.

    I hope this helps!

  • XPS 8300 nine connects to the Broadcom Netlink Communication card only after restarting 3 - 4 times at cold start.

    Hello

    I just bought a new XPS 8300.

After woeking OK a few days, now it connects to the Broadcom Netlink Communication card only after restarting 3 - 4 times at cold start.

    Someone has the same problem?

All other computers in the House connect from the first shot. (two cell phones and another office.) They have much slower computers.

In the beginning, I have re-installed the driver (DVD and downloaded), but not that's the problem.

The computer must have a little hot.

When it does connect, Test the Dell tool DOES NOT SHOW (does not appear in the list of tests) Broadcom NetLink Gigabite Ethernet card.

I'm a little disappointed, it's a brand new computer, I was expecting more problems from the beginning.

    Thanks, Cristian, Montreal, Canada

    All,

According to the received update, please call Support technical and would take appropriate action.

The fix is based on case to case, so I would ask all those who face this problem to call tech support for your region.

The technical team sent details to the technical team and the TS process for this issue should go smoothly.

FYI: I was not provided with a patch, please contact Dell Technical Support for more details.

  • How to fill a Broadcom Ethernet NIC?

There is no option for me at the bridge with the Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet network card currently installed on my system. The adapter is not compatible? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

Check the settings of the NETWORK adapter on your host computer.  It seems that it has not installed the VMware Bridge Protocol service.  You should be able to add/install this driver for the card (inf file must be in the VMware Player folder)

& sata/IDE controller software. Get the MB hardware specifications, go to the mfg

Web site & download the software and drivers. If intel, download the chipset installation

utility & install it 1. The other would be the SATA or / and drivers for the MB IDE

controllers, 'Matrix Storage console' would be the one, also chk for desktop

Internet downloads, amd, and other brand materials would be substantially the same.

Restore the system to the date and time when the computer was working fine.

If this message has always been to present its likely that the Ethernet card that is built into the computer is connected to the motherboard using a USB connection (this is common in laptops). If this is the case, there is nothing that can be done to remove the message that the deactivation of the Ethernet card, but this will prevent you from being able to use wired Internet/network connections.

  • BROADCOM NETLINK GIGABIT ETHERNET! HELP PLEASE!

During a test of reliability and Performance that he showed many times this device is disabled.
It indicates that a device is disabled and prevents from running correctly.  It is said if you don't need this device that I can just disable but don't know if I need or not so can someone please help me understand this.
    I have Windows Vista.

    Thank you very much

Broadcom Netlink is a network card for the cable networks. You don't really need because apparently you connect to the Internet, another way (such as through a wireless network adapter). If you want to activate the card following the instructions on this page.

  • Problems of updating HP dc7700 SFF NIC driver

    Hi all!

I have a HP dc7700 SFF desktop I have been working to rebuild. I restored it to out of State of the box with the built-in HP restore partition, put the OS Win XP Pro SP2. The Integrated NIC is a processor Intel 82566 DM. The default driver is version 9.4.21.0 (as dated 19/07/2006) and works very well at speeds of 1 GB. The problem is that when I upgrade the driver to version 9.15.17.0 (dated as of 07/03/2012) using the latest ProWin32.exe installer available on the Intel site, the NETWORK adapter will connect is no longer at a speed of 1 Gb and will connect to 100 MB. I know that the machine has network connectivity and seems to be very well until I do the update of the NETWORK adapter driver. Starting after the rendering of the office, State system for the network connection status bar icon indicates that it is connected to 1 GB for a moment, then it shows as disconnected, then reconnected shows, but only 100 MB. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the package of pilot several times with no luck. I also tried the official HP package from the downloads dc7700 (SP51788) page and that brought no result. I can restore the r in car to the 2006 version and the NETWORK card will reconnect at a speed of 1 Gb again.

I'm thinking / hoping I can't be the only person who is having this same problem? Any help would be tremendously appreciated. If I can provide any additional information, please let me know. Thank you!

Why not just use the driver of 2006 if it works well? Newer isn't always better, especially when it comes to drivers.

  • T410s Ultrabay problem - hard drive requires more power

I'm working on upgrading a T410s to give it as a gift to my girlfriend. I've already upgraded the ram and had to replace the screen and both went very well.

Now, I'm working on adding a second hard drive with the ultrabay. I'll keep the original SSD as my boot drive and you want to use the ultrabay for a normal HARD drive to increase the total space for her. It is a graphic design / photography major space would be nice.

I bought a 3rd party caddy and a WD Black 750 g 7200 RPM drive through Amazon. I followed the advice that I heard somewhere that you need to make a shortcut of the old EVD to access the new hard disk drive. When I installed the ultrabay and booted up, the computer could not access E:. Nothing happened.

I heard somewhere else ultrabay housing could use only 5 units of power (I don't know if it was watts or volts) and therefore the WD black drive series, I got is likely to need more power to operate (9-12 units). This noise to anyone who has installed a ultrabay correct? Maybe at the time where the T410s first came out, most hard drives use more than 5 units?

    Any recommendations? Thank you!

I don't know what are the units of power, and I never heard of the the ultrabay on a T410s not giving a hard drive of all the power he needs. I must admit that I am very skeptical about the claim that you read.

Perhaps the drive has not been initialized because it's new? If you are on Windows 7, click the Start button and type "create and format" in the search bar. You should see the drive it so that it can be initialized. Another way to get there is by going to control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management.
