  Wellllllllllllllllllll... I did some research here on the site of HP and concluded that by doing this:

  In Adobe Reader, click file > print.

  Click Advanced.

  Check the print as Image option

  I print on a range of pages as I type this!   How I found this solution BEFORE I posted my rants, I don't know... guess I took too much in the frustration of it all... THANKS again for being here! Hope that I won't be back anytime soon!  :-)

  I have a Brother HL 2170W printer that is able to print wireless.  Having problems becoming it implemented.  Do not know what I do and there seems to be too many options.  Y at - it an easy way to put in place to work with my Mac book Air...

  It took me 6 years to finally make it work on Mac OS X Sierra and Win10 wireless! I used to connect to the router with the Ethernet cable.

  FORGET what brother can offer about the installation, they make unnecessary difficult.

  1. first of all use your connection Ethernet (printer with router) and mark the IP address of the printer: 192.XXX. XX. XX

  2. use any browser, type the IP address in the search bar and press return.

  3. you will be to set up printer Web page, allowing you to make changes: SSID, WAP2 password, etc.

  You will need administrator access to change settings: user: admin password: access (can also be found in 'Help')

  Better to download and install the BRM clear admin tool to find the new IP when a wireless connection for the changes to come.

  The Mac automatically finds the printer and driver.

  There are several possible causes for this message:

  a. the computer and the access point lost the connection.

  (b) the printer is set to offline mode.

  c. Canon printer is not set as the default printer.

  I just bought a Brother HL-2170W printer and can't seem to install/function on Windows Vista.  It appears to install successfully, but when I try to print VIsta says ' the Brother HL-2170W printer driver is not installed on this computer "," do you want to install the printer driver now? I tried to let Vista install the driver, and I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers manually with my factory cd. Packaging indicates that this model is compatible with Vista/Windows 7. I also had the same problems with a different brand printer that leads me to believe the problem with Vista or something wrong with my computer that prevents proper installation. Any suggestions? I tried to fix this for 2 weeks now.

  Check what bit system you have on vista 32 or 64. Then download this version of the driver. It should work.

  I have a few here that might solve the problem.

  Step 1:

  Click on the ORB start > go to control panel > choose printers > right click on your printer and make sure that there is no check box option 'use printer offline '.

  Step 2:

  1. go to printers and faxes.
  2. right click and select Properties.
  3. go to the ports (for some reason any of his Brother PC - Fax v2 shows)
  4. Add the new port.
  5. Enter the IP address (check the menu of the printer to find the IP address IE.) 192.168.002.002. to be sure enter 002 instead of 2).
  6. restart the computer.

  Wait a minute or 2 after the restart and the printer should now be online.

  Step 3:

  1. click on start > Panel > hardware and sound > printers > delete a printer and remove the printer from the list.
  2. click on start > Control Panel > programs > uninstall a program > click the driver for the printer in the list of programs - and select uninstall
  3. click on start > Control Panel > programs > uninstall a program > click Wireless print server software that is installed on the computer and select uninstall
  4. create a folder on your desktop - right-click on an empty spot on the desktop choose NEW - file / print driver name.
  5 download the LATEST VISTA PRINT Driver from the MANUFACTURER's website and place it in the folder. (we will install it later)
  6. when it is finished - install wireless printing software, once installed, install the DRIVER in the folder on the desktop.

  My Wireless Brother MFC-685CW printer is recognized by my PC HP Pavilion, but the properties of the printer on the PC indicate that it is in offline mode.  The PC is connected to wifi and works very well except for this. How do I please you?

• HP deskjet f380 - get msg even if properly connected offline

  I received a HP Desket F380, which has not been used for two years while the cartridges are dried out.  I downloaded the latest driver and replaced the black print cartridge, but I am reluctant to replace the color one as well in case it does not work.  When you ask to print from say MS word or internet I get printer offline despite being able to scan a page for my lap top.   Please note that I was told by the previous owner that the printer will always print if only the black cartridge is full.

• Brother printer HL-2170W printer does not not through Vista x 64

  Im running vista x 64 on a system that has been previously using this printer.  Some updates published last month and I did print the computer in some time.  Tried to print and could not, tested the printer with my accountant net windows XP and just fin he worked.  And then tested on my second computer on Windows 7 and the printer works.  I downloaded the brother print monitor and it shows the printer as it is ready, I can print from the web management tool, but if I try to print through Vista on any program or even a test print used.  I restored my computer to 3 months ago and the printer started working then updates posted and installed and it stopped again.  IM using the printer on a wired home network and every computer I have print but x 64.  I think that one of the updates of the origin of the problem.

  I wanted to follow on this issue:

  I reset my computer to before the printer no longer works.

  As I said before, I had already tried to update the drivers from brother, who has not fixed the problem.

  I installed every update 1 by 1 and found 1 that caused the printer to stop working.

  What don't get me, is how an update can be applied to a print spooler and do not expect to block its ability to print?

  How can I load the update and still be able to print?

  As far as the update goes:...

  I think that has to be in behalf of the update instead of just calling a windows security update.

  Put a header on it that reads the print spooler or such a name with a print in it.  It would have made the follow-up on the much simpler update.

  This can cause the problem for most other users who cannot get their printers to work on Vista.
