browser of the laptop has severe warning that the browser is obsolete. seems to be current. Tram want to download fake

I have a Toshiba laptop with win7 64 bit. About 3 weeks ago I started having a "WARNING BROWSER UPDATE REQUIRED. You use a browser that seems to be updated. Please run the exe when you are prompted to upgrade to the latest version of the browser. "I press"HELP"and he says that I am running version 27.0.1 and there is no download. The screen has a 'contact us. PRIVATE LIFE. EULA' when the user clicks on the 'CONTACT US', I get a MS Outlook 2007 Startup Wizard. The "EULA & PRIVACY" gives me the following in small print at the bottom of the page: "[email protected]".

I hesitate to click on the "FREE DOWNLOAD" for fear of downloading to a hard drive, virus of the searing.

What's this 'warning' for real?

Hello, this is a tactic of scam that tries to trick you into installing malicious software, in order to not download or run this kind of stuff! updates are managed internally and automatically by firefox if you don't have not download or run any .exe file at perrform one updated (you can run a check of updates of firefox > help > about firefox).

You can also run a full scan of your system with software security already in place and the various tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner & kaspersky security scan to make sure there isn't already a kind of active malware on your system that triggers these false alerts.

Fix Firefox problems caused by malicious software

You can also help by pressing F10 & will help > report false web while you are on this questionable page - this might get the page in the list of malicious sites that crash in firefox (the list is maintained by google) or when these pages use the firefox logos or trademarks to encourage users to download malicious software you could also send it to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/legal/fraud-report/.
