BSOD when trying to install XP Pro

Hi all

Let me start by saying I know why I get a BSOD, I'm not sure how to fix it.

I have a laptop HP 550. I'm trying to install a new copy of XP Professional. It is a non OEM of XP Professional copy. Just before the installation of XP should arrive at the "Welcome to setup" option, the blue of system screens with a STOP 0x0000007b error. At this point, I realize that I need to show the installation of XP SATA driver so that it recognizes the hard disk.

(1) first of all, on a second computer, I went here and downloaded sp39156.exe. I double clicked on it then cancelled the installation program. This has been done to create the folder in C:\swsetup.

(2) then, I went to the folder C:\swsetup\SP39156\Winall\Driver and all the contents of this file copied to a floppy drive

(3) then, I plugged the HP 550 laptop floppy drive and the computer. I pressed F6 to install the driver, and he introduced me to a list with four options:

-Intel ICH7R/DH SATA RAID Controller
-Intel(r) ICH7MDH SATA RAID Controller
-Intel(r) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R SATA RAID Controller
-Intel(r) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID

No matter which of the four, I take, each of them always generates the BSOD with the STOP 0x0000007b error.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I realize that I could disable SATA Native Mode in the BIOS... but I won't be running in any mode of "compatibility". Thanks for any help!

Hello

In case you use ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller (SATA driver).

Good solution is to integrate this XP driver.

Guide with the instruction how you can do that you can find in the link below:

Drivers SATA for XP (solution on BSOD 0x0000007B)

When you do this, then you will never need to replay with floppy drive during the installation of XP.

Important note:

When you pass by my guide so do not use the pdf/doc file SATA driver.

Use this one (is this SATA driver for your specific model).

Note:

This message has been changed by me to correct misinformation.

  • BSOD when trying to install Win7 64 bit with the new motherboard

    Hi all

I have the following BSOD problem:
I installed a new motherboard in my system (a MSI P43 C51). Before that, I got a Gigabyte G41MT-S2P. The rest of the configuration is: Q9650, Thermaltake truespirit 90 cooler, 2 x 4 GB DDR3 1333, GTX 470, 750W PSU, case name, SATA HDD 500 GB, Windows 7 64 bit.

Well, the problem started when I tried to boot into windows with the new motherboard: I got BSOD 1 second after windows starts loading. I thought... new motherboard, install new windows, so I tried to install windows 7 64 bit DVD and USB stick, I get the STOP: 0x0000000A error during installation. I changed the HARD drive, thinking that it could be a bad sector problem, but no, the other hard drive behaved exactly the same thing. I got BSOD at 40% extraction, extraction of 90% and for the moment "Complete the installation..." ». I also tried to install with the stick of memory only one, spent between ports, everything. The material I have works, as I played on my PC every day in the last month and received no. BSOD, also had a small overclock the CPU and the GPU (100 MHz on the processor, that the old motherboard supported more than 343 fsb and about 100 MHz on the GPU). It was stable, no errors, no nothing.

My thoughts are only, after asking some knowledge that work in computer support, it could be a problem of version of the BIOS (BIOS is 2005..) and the fact that my Win 7 installation kit is without Service Pack 1 (a colleague told me that he had this problem for the PC more than once and after trying to install SP1 It went smoothly and without errors)

I just got a new "blank" DVD of Win 7 64 bit with SP1. What I'll try today is to Flash the bios with the latest version and install the OS on a HARD drive new, sealed. He could not be my system components, because they are compatible and they worked 1 day before with no problems! I have literally NO IDEA what could be the problem. Today, I'll try the installation of the new DVD and with the new version of the BIOS. If this does not work, I have no idea what I can do... It is a sucky situation.

If you have any suggestions, please, don't keep it to yourself :-D

    Thank you!
    Alex

    ==============================================

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Drivers could be at fault, however the problems of disk or security/antivirus/antispyware products are
just as likely to be the root cause that they can force a driver to corrupt or go out of bounds.
The video driver or something affecting it would be questionable.

At the end of this message, I'll post a bluescreen generic and in the next convenience store
How do to update the drivers and BIOS but also to check memory message.

    -----------------------------------

    BCCode: 0a 0x0000000A

    Cause

This bug check is issued if the memory paged (or invalid) is accessible when the IRQL is too high.

The error that usually generates this bug check occurs after the installation of the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS.

If you encounter a bug 0xA control during the upgrade to a later version of Windows, this error can be caused by a device driver, system service, an anti-virus or a backup tool that is not compatible with the new version.

    Solve the problem

If a kernel debugger is available, get a stack trace.

To resolve an error caused by the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system.
    3. In the WindowsAdvanced Options menu, select last known good Configuration . This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

To resolve an error caused by an incompatible device driver, system service, virus scanner, or backup tool

    1. Check the system log in Event Viewer for error messages that may identify the device or driver that caused the error.
    2. Try disabling the cache in memory of the BIOS.
    3. Run the diagnostics of equipment provided by the manufacturer of the system, in particular the scanner memory. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.
    4. Make sure that the latest Service Pack is installed.
    5. If your system has cards (SCSI) small computer system interface, contact the card manufacturer for updated Windows drivers. Try to disable sync negotiation in the SCSI BIOS, check the wiring and the SCSI ID of each device and confirming the proper termination.
    6. For devices (IDE) peripheral electronic integrated, set the built-in as only primary IDE port. Also, check each IDE device to the right setting master/slave/stand alone. Try to remove all IDE devices except for the hard drives.

If the message appears during installation of Windows, make sure that the computer and installed devices are listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.

    Comments

Before upgrading to a new version of Windows, remove all third-party device drivers and system services and disable any antivirus. Contact software manufacturers for updates of these third-party tools.

  • I get the BSOD when trying to install Bluetooth on Satellite A200

    Hello!

    I have a problem:

When you try to install the bluetooth for the first time since the reformatting of the hard drive, I get the BSOD. During its restart and tries to launch the bluetooth I, once more, get the dreaded blue screen of death.

I have Vista home premium 32 bit
I recently reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system
I checked for viruses, etc., and it's clean...

Don't know what else to say...

How can I resolve this problem and install the bluetooth?

It is very mysterious, because the laptop should run fine after using the recovery CD.

In your case, you should check if your BIOS is up to date. If this isn't the case, then update the BIOS. But to be honest, I guess there could be a hardware problem.

If its SATA you need SATA drivers to install. Since the XP CD doesn't have the SATA drivers on it

Unless you disable the AHCI in the BIOS. Or their wake.

Or get the SATA drivers. Check out them on diskette, press F6 during installation and then add them.

  • Accidentally deleted Windows 98 when trying to reinstall XP Pro upgrade.

I wanted just a fresh reinstall of XP Pro, so please help me with my specific problem if you can.  I was using my version of XP Pro to re-intall upgrade.  Instructions for reinstalling confused me and I inadvertently selected an option that has removed the original 98 OS during installation process.  Given that my copy of XP Pro, is to install an upgrade not a complete new OS, I can't proceed because my 98 files are gone: (...) (but perhaps not fatal?)  I stopped the process as soon as I realized that the option I chose was probably not the right, but it seems that it was too late.  Using my XP Pro upgrade cd installation could not proceed when I tried again because the original 98 OS files are now missing. :(

I got this computer set up with a legitimate 98 and XP Pro upgrade for several years.  I can't find my original of 98 (I can't find it in stock and gives me an injury so I can't dig for it, also, it could be anywhere).  So the problem is this: I need to restore my 98 operation system somehow somehow (without my cd), so I can use my XP Pro updated to get back to where I was, a work computer XP Pro.  That's all.

Is it possible to do, either by MS support (I was registered through Windows Genuine Advantage or just what it's called so I guess they can check that my BONES were and are indeed legitimate) or can they help me with another installation of 98 so I can re - install usimg my upgrade back to XP Pro? Or another solution? Somehow to restore the deleted files? Please note: I can not afford to buy anything right now, I am out of work right now, so thank you very much in advance for any suggestions and the reasons to buy Windows 7 or buy something else, but these solutions are NOT viable for me right now, but thank you again if you were going to think that.  What I really need help's suggestions as to what can be done to help me get my current system facing up and running using what I have on the spot.

I appreciate sincerely any help you can offer!

Hey guys, this imac has el capitan, I am trying to reinstall snow leopard but I get 3 beeps. This research, I came across info suggesting either bad ram or I'm going to need at least a 10.6.7 to a flash drive as suggested in this thread here: three beeps when trying to install snow leopard

I have the original disc from apple with 10.6.3. Possible to use this disc or my only option would be to try to get an OS x 10.6.7 on a USB? If so, I just found the 10.6.7 here: *.

I have it on my windows desktop. I guess my next step should be to install on a bootable flash drive. So yes, I have a 16 gb flash drive that I use for windows, do I need to reformat for mac first and then copy the dmg file downloaded to it?

< link published by host >

You're right, three beeps point to a problem with the RAM. The first thing to do is to remove and reinstall ensure that it is firmly in place. If not, then replace the RAM, if you bought it from Crucial or OWC then the RAM has a lifetime warranty.
