BUG: Alt + stop scroll Zoom with monitor 4K Windows

Monitors Windows 8.1 with 4K users and have Windows' upscaling activated, please let me know if you can reproduce in the comments! If you have a Mac, you can try to reproduce too, to see if it's just a Windows thing.

I recently install a monitor of 28 "4K for my Windows machine and upgraded to Windows 8.1, because it has better follow independent scaling. I also still have a screen 1920 x 1080. (I do not recommend this configuration and Windows 8.1 does not handle it well.) But that's another story)

Premiere Pro is up to date: 2014.2 version: v8.1, caravan

By default, Windows has this slider set to the recommended average setting:

display_scaling.png

It upscale almost seen everything in Windows, including a Premiere Pro interface.

There is a problem: while placing the cursor on my calendar, hold down the ALT key and my mouse wheel scrolling is not zoom properly. He zooms in, but the location in that zoomed in is incorrect.

Here's how Alt + scroll to zoom usually works:

-where your cursor is where zoom you. If the cursor is positioned on the CTI, you zoom with centric ICT. If your cursor is at the level of the 2-minute mark, when alt-scroll to zoom in, the 2 minute mark will be centered in the timeline panel.

With Windows 8 scaling of the market, math that anime centering algorithm of Alt + scroll are completely overwhelmed! It is difficult to describe in words, so here's a chart that shows exactly what happens when I place my cursor over the red spots and try alt + scroll:

cursor_zoom_not_working.png

If the software worked as expected, red & yellow arrows ecaple eachother, because your zoom must be placed right where the cursor is.

It drives me crazy, I pressed Alt + stop scroll method to zoom. Zoom tool and the keys +/-are not enough; granular and resizing of the horizontal scroll bar is a more recent addition to the first that I didn't need to use immediately, such as alt + scroll stop worked very well for me until the upgrade to 4K.

Now, I considered my second 1080 p monitor might have added to the math problems, as it has a different amount of the scale applied on it, but I've completely disabled the second monitor and performed tests and had the same bug, so the chances of my second monitor having an effect on this bug are incredibly thin.

Of course there are solutions:

  • Tour Windows DPI scaling. Fixed the problem instantly, but everything is really tiny on the screen and is not really recommended
  • Do not use the Alt + stop scroll method to zoom.

I guess it's only a bug in Windows, but if anyone wants to test this on a Mac with a Retina display, which would be useful!

Can anyone else reproduce this bug? If so, can be bug reports to ensure that the message is in any of the files? I've heard of the brand that it is the best way to ensure that the first team takes a serious problem. If a bug is reported only by a single user, there is a chance that very few users encounter the problem, and they will not give priority to a solution.

Hi Tim,.

First of all, I'm sorry that you are affected by this frustrating issue. If I understand your question, it's a problem only Windows and it does not occur on Mac.

Right. It is not currently recommended to the scale of your display beyond 100% with Adobe digital video applications and Windows 8.1. This can be problematic for wider screens, like the one you mention. If I understand correctly, we work with our partners of Microsoft to correct some of these anomalies, but in the meantime, we have resolved issues UI that makes a few items too small to read in some panels.

In fact, there is conflicting info. While the current version is (first Pro CC) 2014.2, you say you have 8.1 caravan, which is not common. Who says you can have the October version installed and have not yet fully updated your application to 8.2, the release of December. The version of December is those with a few corrections of the user interface on the type unreadable in some panels.

The only other suggestion I can offer is to change the font size, the Group of project items in the Panel menu. Helps me to see the elements of the list view much more easily.

Please file a bug report, so that we can add your details to our database.

Thank you
Kevin

This laptop is 2 weeks and has been upgraded to 10 Windows Home. Whenever I use it in laptop mode normal screen guard zoom back annoyingly making it almost unusable. I googled a suggestion to turn off "pinch zoom" in settings > devices > mouse and touchpad > click the trim settings. Is there a way to maintain this setting from one day to the other, or is there another way to stop this annoying screen zoom when using the touchpad?

  • behavior of scroll/zoom mouse in the Source monitor

Hi guys, long time lurker but first time poster. I was wondering if someone could help me with something. Basically, I love mouse scroll/zoom of the features Adobe in the timeline panel, but I hate it in the Source monitor.

In the timeline you can mouse scrolling the entire timeline to the left, right, up, down. You can use ALT upwards or downwards to zoom, etc. Meanwhile, in the Source monitor, scroll left, right, up, down, alt, etc... He advances to the read head. Which seems redundant when you already JKL.

It is not so much a problem when you look at images in the Source, but if you are looking to audio (a song or trying to locate a specific point in the dialogue to say), it's really nice to be able to use the mouse to zoom in and out, and scroll around the audio waveform as you would with film in the timeline panel.

Does anyone know of a framework that could allow this? The only solution I found is hover my mouse the small bar "resizer" (for lack of a better word) which is just above the button in the Source monitor Panel. If the mouse is positioned in this small drop little real estate, you can use the wheel to zoom and scroll the Source monitor Panel... But it would be nice if you could just do that by default. No chance we prefer settingI am not aware of?

  • Illustrator CC - Zoom with scroll wheel?

I put Photoshop in place so that I can zoom in and out by using the arrow pad (not used, just scroll keys).

I'm getting started with Illustrator, and I'll put up my workspace for its similar to what I have in Photoshop, but I can't seem to find the zoom with the mouse scrolling option!

It is simply non-existent or just hard to find in Illustrator?

I'm afraid that you have to press Alt/Option, d.

Hakalo, here is another suggestion, and it's what I have on my computer. First of all, I went to the download page of Firefox and downloaded Firefox version 3.6.17 on my desk. Then I went into Control Panel (cp) (start, Control Panel, add remove programs) and deleted firefox to my computer [uter. I have then closed cp and went on the desktop and installed 3.6.17 immediately all the problems of ff, I had, went.

    In fact when you download a program my computer put on the desktop because it's where I want it to be, your situation might be different. You can check this in tools, options, general.l;

  • I lost the right scroll bar with the arrow on my monitor.

I lost the right scroll bar with the arrow on my screen.  I also lost the clock on my toolbar at the bottom.

Check the resolution of your screen. If you are using Windows 7, you can right click on your desktop and click on the screen resolution - make sure that the correct resolution for your monitor is selected.

If it is a desktop computer with a monitor, you may also reset the default settings of the monitor using the menu key. Depending on your model, the steps will be something like those here.

  • ALT + scroll = zoom mouse?

Plans to implement the classic alt + scroll zoom in later versions? I find it very painful to have to constantly do it manually when you are working on details.

Otherwise, congratulations for a pretty sweet application.

    Hey, H4wkins -.

Another thing you can do is scrolling the hot text of zoom on the stage.  Up and down on the scroll wheel is expected to increase by 1%, and now shift is expected to increase by 10%.

    Hope that helps!

  • Zoom with scroll wheel of scrolling in PSE8?

    Hello

PSE5, it is always by default you could zoom in and out the image / area of work with the help of the scroll of the mouse wheel. Since PSE6 this function seems to no longer be available. I use PSE8, and the question is if there is a way to activate the zoom with the scroll wheel somewhere in the program?

Thank you very much in advance!

It is in the General preferences. Just turn it on.

  • my magic mouse suddenly stopped scrolling in pages

While editing a long document into pages my magic mouse suddenly stopped scrolling.

I have looked on various online forums and found no solution.

I checked my setting and preferences, but found nothing changed.

It scrolls up and down allows very well on the Internet pages and in number and even get out of my folder in the Finder.

I tried other folders and documents in Pages and the mouse does not scroll.

It shows that 35% battery life and I think, if she was too weak, do not work on anything.

    I did something wrong?

I'm fairly new to Mac and perhaps I accidentally pressed a combination of keys for my editing.

I hope someone out there can tell me how to solve this problem.

I had to resort to using the arrows up and down!

And my mouse scrolls quite happy in this question paper.

Well, I'll answer myself that I see no way to change the message.

I checked again on the Internet and came up with a site that said I had to change things for my mouse or trackpad (don't have to make one of these!) accessibility. I wasn't click the scrolling speed and the arrow to 'faster' (he was placed in the middle of the speed bar).

I then chose one of my documents Pages, and to my amazement, found that I could scroll through once again with the mouse!

While that's fine I can continue once editing, I would still know WHY it is suddenly stopped and WHY he started working so I changed the speed of scrolling.

    All responses are welcome.

If I hit a key by chance combination that has stop working in the Pages, then I would like to know so that I don't make this mistake once again if in fact I did a mistake.

  • Dell Inspiron 3647 with monitor Samsung

The Samsung S27D390H monitor does not seem to get along with my new Dell Inspiron 3647 system, bought at the same time for the system.

Sometimes, the screen is black and will not respond when I turn it on.  Dell said that not all monitors are compatible with their systems, if they would not comment specifically on this monitor.  Together, they said is why not to buy a Dell monitor.

It could be a 10 Windows sleep problem or a problem of monitor or computer hardware.  Dell tells me about the monitor because it is not a Dell monitor. Microsoft won't talk about the problems of sleep with Windows 10 because I bought the system from Dell with Windows 10 on it so Microsoft says that I must deal with Dell. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with Dell, struggling to understand the accent of the person I was talking about. It was exhausting and frustrating but no help. I'd stick rather pins in my eyes!

So we plugged the monitor into a power strip and turn off the power strip. So far that has worked, but the problem is intermittent, then it will be some time before we are confident.

Reference verified Dell Bios version.  All standby/hibernation settings have been checked and turned off by Dell.  Not sure about sleep of the BIOS.  Don't know what your last question.

Been another incident.  Off the monitor with monitor power switch.  Half an hour later turn on monitor power switch.  Black screen.  Waving the mouse.  Typical exhaust.  Hit Ctrl Alt Delete.  Nothing.  Turn off the power strip and he turned his back.  Picture came back on the monitor.  And it showed on the screen Ctrl Alt Del orange asking what I wanted to do.

But really, I'm fine with the solution of power strip.  It's simple and it works.

    Thank you all

  • How to detect the stop scrolling

    Hi all

I am currently working with the Bold and Storm, JDE 4.6.0 and JDE 4.7.0 respectively. I have the following question: How can I detect when the user stop scrolling? I have set up a ScrollChangeListener.scrollChanged () that detects when the user begins to scroll through the screen. At the moment, I put a Boolean variable in the true, but now I need to put the same variable to false when the user stops scrolling and I don't know how to do it. Any idea?

Is there another listener or event that it would be useful for detecting the start and stop scrolling or the movement on my screen?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

    Gabriela.

Try to implement a TimerTask with Timer class to check the status of scroll each time.
