Bug of Muse in Internet Explore 11

Hello

I just updated my site, MORNING home | Pacific island ecosystems Research Center and it looks great on Chrome and Firefox, but IE 11 does not show the twitter feed in the lower left corner, does not activate the placeholder text on the images tab 'awareness' and other issues on the site. I am using windows 7 and you have the latest version of internet explore installed. All advice is appreciated, I put a lot of time and effort in my site and I want to look great on all browsers! Thank you!

Katie Keck

I also use IE 11, also I checked on other systems, I you suggest to reset the preferences of the browser and then check again.

  • A bug in Internet Explorer?

    Hello

Can someone tell me what is it?

I saw and heard this announcement on CNN today:

"A new bug in Internet Explorer allows hackers to commandeer your computer."

Then, he gives a link to access the site for more information. That's what I get from this link:

That's how it works: hackers set up a Web site that installs malware when you visit. If you are fooled by visiting the Web site using the Internet Explorer program, malware infiltrates your computer and gives total control by a stranger. You can even notice.

"I would say that someone taking control of your computer is just the beginning of the worst case scenario," said Adrian Sanabria, an expert with security 451research.com . "Because then they steal your information, access your email, etc"

Right: Cyber Insurance bridges the gap between physical and digital

That's where the real danger lies. Anyone in control of your computer can spy on everything you do. If it's a PC at work, hackers can reach what to what an employee has access.

It's worse for those who use Windows XP, because Microsoft does not support this operating system with security patches. For them, Microsoft said: upgrading to Windows 7 or 8.1 GB.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recommends that people abandon Internet Explorer until there is a patch - or install Special software in the meantime instead.

But this bug is more pervasive than it looks. Many machines use Windows - Bank ATMs, point of sale, seats restaurant tools - and Internet Explorer is their default browser. If hackers manage to send them to a bad Web site, that the machine is now under their control. It won't be easy, but it is possible.

"You do not as a Windows PC running the software," said Paco Hope, consultant at the software security firm Cigital . He advises companies to speak to salespeople to determine the vulnerability they are.

Because that this attack is based on few of the additional features of Internet Explorer, there is a relatively easy fix: just disable them. FireEye advise to disable the Adobe ()ADBE() Flash plugin. While Microsoft is working on fixing the bug, its engineers suggest your browser runs in Mode 'Enhanced Protect.' But experts say computer that will probably ruin your experience online.

To disable the Flash plugin in Internet Explorer, click "Tools" and then "Manage Add-ons."

That is why the simplest solution is to simply abandon Internet Explorer and use another browser, said Marius Buterchi with the antivirus software manufacturer BitDefender . This attack does not affect other Web browsers such as Google ()GOOG, Fortune 500) Chrome, Mozilla FireFox or Apple (),AAPL, Fortune 500) , Safari.

This type of attack is particularly bad, because it affects all versions of the Web of IE6 by IE11 browser. It's more than half of browsers currently in use right now, according to the Web Analytics site NetMarketShare.

This is not the first time hackers use modules like Flash to attack computers. But this hack, first publicly disclosed by FireEye in a blog post Saturday, has been described as a 'zero-day '. This means that the attack is a unique technique, never seen before - a particularly dangerous vulnerability, because it has not yet been patched.

  • Site of muse does not work in Internet Explorer

Please help. My site bjh.dadeschools.net does not work in Internet Explorer. It works with all other browsers but not IE. Please help with this question.

No, just to take one or the other. I used the one that ends in IE = 10 and it worked for me, but when I have a few minutes, I'll try to use IE = Edge because I think it's the best way to go. But yes, you need to add it to each affected page unless there is a way that you can add it so that it applies to all the pages... I'm not familiar with the Muse enough to say if this is possible, flippant.

But go ahead and test it like this...

    1. go to your homepage.

    2. click on Page in the menu bar.

    3. Select the Properties Page.

    4. go to the metadata tab.

    5. in the HTML code forsection, paste the following code:

Save that and try to republish and test this homepage you have applied that change and see if it works now. If so, then go ahead and apply it on your other pages or try and find if there is a way to implement the HTML code forcode to all your pages (maybe a master page or something.) Let me know if it works for you or if you have any questions.

  • Muse from view of compatibility of Internet Explorer 11 - on intranet pages

    Hello

We recently started using Adobe Muse to create intranet sites for our company. What happens is that Internet Explorer 11 is by default set to 'intranet Sites to view in compatibility view '. This setting can be changed in tools > compatibility view settings and uncheck "display intranet sites in compatibility view. However, we do not want to ask end users to do this just to display an intranet site.

The compatibility view is causing pages to appear broken, hover over the items that don't appear not correctly, pages have text where text should not be, layouts are off, etc.

I tried a meta tag to override this setting in IE11 and it works. The tag will in your html < head > to disable compatibility view and display the page normally. It's this meta tag: < meta http-equiv = "X-UA-Compatible" content = "IE = 11" / >

When I entered the following meta tag in Muse > Page Properties > metadata, Internet Explorer will not picking up the meta tag to turn off compatibility view. I read about this and it's because the entered meta tag is placed near the end of the < head > tag - close to the < / head > tag. When I go into Dreamweaver to edit the html code, I place the < meta http-equiv = "X-UA-Compatible" content = "IE = 11" / > tag just below the head of <>tag, save and try to open the page in IE11 on my intranet. It works! Compatibility view gets turned OFF

I don't want to keep tweaking the html metadata whenever I publish. Is it possible to precisely place this line of code in a project Muse so they could publish at the top of the list in the < head > area? It's about saving lives.

We understand the demand to be able to settle this in the .html files generated by Muse, but it is very unlikely to be part of a release of the Muse before the summer. Thus the only timely at this address way is to configure the server to include a response header specific when serving files .html in the structure of the folders in your site. "Server configuration" seems the whole, but in general, this means putting a few lines in a configuration file in the folder root of your site, but exactly what needs to be done is very specific to the server used.

  • BUG? Presentation of elements via Dynamic Action in Internet Explorer generates "null."

I first noticed this using the newly improved apex.oracle.com. When I have dynamic action that must send the values of page element and the value is null / empty, the call to post/ajax result includes the literal 'null' as the value for this parameter.

    for example
    p_flow_id = 65928 & p_flow_step_id = 2110 p_instance = 574862348021401 & p_request = FLOW_PPR_OUTPUT_R1858426911545391_reset_R_1858426911545391 & p_arg_names = P2110_VENDOR1 & p_arg_names = P2110_VENDOR2 & p_arg_values = 3754 & p_arg_values = null

This only happens in Internet Explorer. I use IE9, but it seems to work that way, if I put it in IE8 mode as well.

I returned and tested in the Apex 4.1.1.00.23 and I got the same result.

    Greg

    Hi Greg,.

Thanks again for the follow-up. You are right, it is the "Set Value" operation that causes the problem when it is called with a null value. In fact, it's a bug of IE underlaying.

See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5387038/null-values-shown-in-form-fields-in-ie and also http://bugs.jquery.com/ticket/5163 strengthening jQuery

I will file a bug to use jQuery.val () workarounds to the problem.

    Thank you

  • Have a bug with Internet Explorer 7

I am trying to create a special datagrid to store the new Member of a project (the interface is to create a new project). I am able to open a cfwindow if the user wants to add a new Member in the datagrid control. The cfwindow will consist of a form of 3 cfselects (member type, name of the Member and the Member's role). Once the user send the form, it keep the new Member in a special table as a temporary table (it's the way I found to play with several generation of information while having everything in one page instead of having several steps to create a new project).

In any case, when the user clicks on the button send the cfwindow, the application will save the new Member, update the datagrid control in the parent window and close the cfwindow. It makes me very nervous, I wasn't able to accomplish successfully the part until I decided to try with Firefox and see what says the Firebug functionality on any problem. Rather than see a problem, I saw a success! I picked up in IE7, the problem persists. The problem is when the form is submitted, the cfwindow was just the main window and is not a cfwindow, while Firefox can deal with sending, the updating of the datagrid in the teacher/parent window and the cfwindow closes correctly.

Someone has an idea to fix that we live with this? I'm not comfortable with this bug and to be honest, I would have preferred the opposite because we are Microsoft Partner and the company wants to use - whenever possible - product from Microsoft, including Internet Explorer. It's not my decision because I love Firefox but it's something I have to deal with!

I understand the code of the CFWindow only the main window contains a lot of code that it is out of this range, because there is no associated problem at present.

    Thanks for any help.

    Cyber,

I tried to work with cfwindow before I was getting a lot of errors with IE and then I found a perfect solution CF_WINDOW custom tag. I tell you it's great and it's free! Also focus on tag, you might find a few solutions in there!

  • Major problem with Muse site works only in Internet Explorer

The site loads very well in another browser, but doesn't load at all in Internet Explorer. I'm on a Mac and do not use IE but when I load the site in a browser test I get this error: "JavaScript Expection: error calling the function switch: error: invalid argument".

Noting all the site load.  We just went live with this site today and many people try to use IE, so I'm in a panic to find a solution.  I searched and seem similar problems but have not found a solution that works for me. Any help would be appreciated.

    The site is: www.palmvista.church

    Thanks for your help.

IE is notoriously badly to deal with malformed hyperlinks. Other browsers ignore silently. IE shake its cookies and often after the hyperlink problem has been treated properly. I suspect therefore that there is an incorrect hyperlink on your page.

In the 'Useful links' section, the hyperlink on 'FAQ' seems to be malformed. Try to remove that link and add a valid link, then re-publish/re-upload the site to test on IE. Which may, or may not, be the cause. But it's the first thing to try.

  • Get a security certificate error page in Internet Explorer for a new Muse site hosted on BC

I'm not familiar with the operation of security certificates! I tried this search, but it was confusing, so I wanted to try the forum. Is it because of some adjustments, I used? Or it would happen because there was another version of the Web site to the top in Drupal, hosted by someone other than BC which replaced this site?  If there is some simple tips on how to solve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

This only happens in Internet Explorer:

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by an approved certification authority.

A site address different Web issued the security certificate presented by this website.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

We recommend that you close this webpage and do not make this Web site.

Unfortunately, this is not possible, SSL certificate supplied with catalyst for business can be transferred to your custom domain and you cannot add additional SSL certificates to your domain custom when using BC.

So, the solution is, whenever you need to secure URLs, use the url that is secure on your site that ends with worldsecuresystem.com. You can try to access the url, secure your site and you will get no error. To know your secure url, go to admin panel-> site-> site domain settings, you should see the secure area.

Let me know if you have any question.

  • Flash and Silverlight don't work at all in beta 34.0, when Internet Explorer is working correctly with these; immediately arrived with Update Beta 34.0.

    Hello!

Immediately after the Update Beta 34.0, Silverlight and Flash, completely stopped working in Firefox. I am running Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2.

They work fine in Internet Explorer.

This happens in any website I want.

For example, I can go on Youtube and the page will display a black box where the video should be, but there is no control of playback, or any way to activate the video. Clicking in the black box has no effect.

On the site of game music, Grooveshark, the site does not recognize Flash installed at all. (If you have not installed Flash, this site displays a message each time. Grooveshark correctly recognizes that Flash has been installed by Internet Explorer.)

I've updated the Flash plugin for the current version, which also has nothing.

I have not reinstalled Firefox, or do a system restore, still.

I just bought a new computer I was going to migrate to and withdraw from this computer, so I wasn't going to make heroic efforts to solve this problem. I reported this more on the order of a bug report.

    Thank you.

    Karl

    Karl,

Do you by chance have Flashblock installed? I had checked before and did turn off but it seems was not enough. Update b 34, 1 break Flashblock who, in turn, breaks Flash and, for me, VLC. I had to disable (in Add-ons) and restart Firefox, and now everything is fine.

I found this while digging for answers on the Mozilla forums and eventually find http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23 & t = 2881007
    on Mozillazine.

  • Why is Mozilla trying to Mougeot Internet Explorer?

With each update to Mozilla Firefox you seem to do it more like the Internet Explorer which IS NOT of WORK TO START WITH and more time passing, you're now with Google Chrome, trying to IE Mougeot.

Chrome has load a dangerous Script when it is on an https site and watch items from outside their IE https site called mixed content. Mozilla calls YOU disable Protection on this Site.

GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE you & chrome are doing my job in tech support more difficult.

It sounds as if you don't have a support question, you just vent your frustration with changes in Firefox. Another way to do is to use

I've been with the support of teak with yahoo and I tried to go through the internet Explorer and it works through this search engine I would rather Firefox if someone has the fix for this

    Hi fred1228723,

It looks like a known issue reported here:

    https://Bugzilla.Mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=713014

There was a workaround solution posted, but I have not tested it myself. Here are the steps.

    1. Go to the Yahoo Messenger Options - change the window in the tab menu and press OK.
    2. Then go back and switch to the small window and press OK.

Once the bug is resolved formally, you could try to run every night or Aurora build to use the hotfix at the beginning.

    Hope this helps!

  • Why internet Explorer opens in the small window

After I opened my home page in Internet explorer 7. Whenever I click on the links they allways open in small windows. I tried to resize and closing, but it makes no difference, I also tried to hold the SHIFT key and the keys CTRL but in vain.
    Guy

The whole recall settings has been nothing else into trouble for Microsoft.  Your "bug light" comment is correct to halfway.

However, there are some things that you can try and I hope you find a solution.

Have you tried to resize your window and close the resized window via clicking on the top left corner of the window (Yes left) hand and selecting 'close' in the menu?

I have the 64 bit version. Someone told me that smart printing does not work with 64-bit is tat the problem? Help, please

    Hello arturomv:

It's great smart printing now works on Internet Explorer 8. Firefox already has the search already installed bing bar. All that Internet Explorer has there it as well. Now Firefox will tell you to which toolbar or extensions are not compatible HP Smart Print is a. You finely haveHp smart printing works on Internet Explorer 8.

Activation and move it to the top list in Firefox, it is already activated. Do you see the search box short on right click on the triangle next to the search icon. Most likely, this is googles icon. Select the icon of the Bings. Under icons is managed search engines who click and move Bing on top. Now, bing is now your search engine on Fire fox. To bring up Bing search page click on far right icon search search box.  Fire fox has its own printing software. Click on file and select print set up.

  • no history of web in internet explorer, only computer documents history illustrated

    WIN 7 - IE 9

from last week, only history that is displayed in Internet explorer history is documents I have open on my computer. There are no web pages that I have been to.

    There is a file in

    c:\Users\*your User Name*\Appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\History\Low\History.ie5

called index.dat which controls the amount of history of Internet Explorer that is stored.

Once this file is reached about 16 MB, history to stop recording (I'm guessing a bug because it makes no real sense).

If you remove this file before it reaches this size, history is preserved. Even if you delete it later, previous history is saved.

Index.dat will be recreated, and you will not lose current history.

It is a special hidden file and to view or delete, you must open a command prompt window with elevated privileges.

Right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.

    Then type

CD c:\Users\* your user name *\Appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\History\Low\History.ie5

Replacing it with your real username

    Then type

    virtue of dir

to see files in this directory. See if index.dat is the limit.

Be sure to close IE 9 if it is open, then

    Type

    del index.dat virtue

    to remove the file.

Edit: You do it regularly to maintain a history permanently.
