Built in camera Chicony USB no longer works on laptop Satellite A200

All of a sudden, the built-in in my laptop Satellite A200 Chicony USB webcam has stopped working - it was going very well about 6 weeks ago, but now it's as if he has actually disappeared from the laptop. The camera does not even on devices such as equipment manager - there is no single category of imaging devices (unless I am also connected to our printer/scanner). It is also not displayed in 'scanners and cameras' folder in the control panel. But the software (Toshiba Camera Assistant software) is still there. Weird.

When I start the computer first, or at other times try to start the camera, an error message appears that says:
* "webcam driver open fail. Restart the computer or the camera. "

Before you tell me to download and reinstall the drivers, let me tell you what I "ve tried so far:"
1 restart the computer (obviously)
2 downloaded the driver for my model on this site and variously has tried to repair, replace and finally uninstalled and reinstalled the. IT IS NOT THE DRIVER!
3 unplugged my wireless USB mouse and restart the computer (I read on another thread that it sometimes interferes with the camera)
4 tried to get the computer looking for new hardware - he couldn't find it.
5 tried a system restore, where it was linked to a recent update - I tried this using three different restore points system, and none of them could not be completed.

All that you have done is just.

In all this history it's strange this webcam is not listed in Device Manager.
In my opinion, you should do a final test to check the operation of the equipment, if you want to install the OS by using recovery DVDs.

With own factory and OS preinstalled settings, you can check the operation of the equipment and see if the cam will work or not.
If the problem will be the same I'm almost sure it's related to the faulty webcam.

    I recently bought a Satellite A200-1CZ (PSAEC). It has Vista Home Premium preinstalled. But I wanted to be able to connect to my domain at work, so for this purpose, I had to upgrade to Vista Ultimate. The update itself went well, but after the upgrade, I can not the built-in Chicony webcam to work again. I tried to reinstall the software of the camera without success.

    I also tried to plug the driver installation to the place on the PC where the drivers. He says that it is indeed the correct drivers, but there could be missing a post in the INF file. It seems that it must be written specifically for ultimate.

  • Driver Chicony webcam does not work on the Satellite A200-13O

    After the misfortune that occurred to my webcam, I tried to fix it by uninstalling the driver and then put it back in place (by the toshiba Web site).
    I did this twice and it does not work,
    allthought the pc installed the driver, the camera was not working because a file was for win95 and my pc has vista.

    After several reboots, I made the following
    -Start
    -all programs
    -camera assistant software
    -Right click
    -options (the last button in the right click menu...)
    -compatibility
    -Select work in win95 compatibility
    -ok

    HM, this is a strange question because I doesn´t depends on the machine, the card information wireless installed. But in general a Netgear router is always a good choice... they are reliable, Don t need a lot of power and you can expand your network with these special Nergear '"Externders = range.

    Im having trouble with my Tosibas built into the camera. My laptop is about 3 years, the camera used to work... after 5 months of not to use I wanted to use it and it just all just with an error message saying 'The camera' I can see a few people have the same problem but tried everything that they you told to do.

    Chicony USB 2.0 need turn on the camera.

    Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you do it for the camera - drivers, firmware or sofrware), get the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/.     This has happened twice now. I bought a powered USB hub gear and it worked for a few weeks then stopped working. I bought a different model, a new, and he also worked for a few weeks and then stopped. I tried to reset the SMC, and I think I have done correctly, but that no longer works.     The first thing to try is to do a reset SMC 2 - 3 times back to back with all the perihpherals disconnected. If this does not work then it may be one of the devices connected to the hub. You should try to see if it's a device by trial and error.

    If all else fails I would swap your gear for one of the hubs USB Belkins. I've never had a problem with one of my friends.

    I noticed that other people have posted messages asking for help on this subject. I have problems in the webcam integrated on my laptop model Satellite A200. There are no icons in what concerns this camera and I'm puzzled because the manual doesn't even mention the camera.

    There is no link in the menu all startup programs. I tried the solution suggested in the forum to add this as a USB but the phone said that there was a mistake. I'm not the person more computer in the world and I would be grateful if someone wants to be good enough to post a step by step guide on how to get this on camera.     Helsfeas if you use the pre-installed Windows Vista you will be able to find the installer for your webcam chicony under the C: don't / drivers directory Toshiba which must be in your hard drive. If you run the installation program you will get an icon in your bar of tasks and on your left, follow a pop up window that can turn on your camera and put effects on it.

    If you have downgraded to WinXp please tell me if I can send you on the program, as I recorded it before the mine downgrading to XP.

    I have a Macbook Pro 17 "2010 edition and I am facing a strange problem which is really harmful to me.  I'm a DJ and use this machine for the job, and she was miss you.

    In other words - when I plug an 85w adapter this Macbook, I have a noise in my helmet and my USB ports stop working intermittently.  It causes my controller DJ disappear and reappear constantly in the sound settings in system preferences and makes it so I can't play and music.  If I unplug the adapter 85w, however, everything works fine and I get no sound in my headphones.  I called my local stores and they have never seen this problem, with a store saying that it will need a new controller for a $500 card.

    Can someone please give me some clue as to what I could do to fix this?  I tried to reset the SMC but no dice.

    Have you tested your power on another Mac adapter or tried a different power adapter on your MBP?

He got 4 USB slots, 1 handset that works on the left side and 3 USB2 connectors right side and these 3 suddenly stopped working.   • USB no longer works on Satellite T230

    HelloW,
    I use the Satellite T230 (Windows 7 64-bit) for about a month.
    Once one of the USB ports stopped working. USB-drives are not recognized at all, a mouse - the note is simply a repeating beep. That USB port doen't see a USB key during startup.
    Everything works with a different port.

    I tried the system recovery, update the BIOS. Nothing helps.

    I am really angry and don't know what to do.

    System recovery means that you have already reinstalled Windows from Toshiba disk recovery and HARD drive recovery?

    If so, I think that you have tried everything you can do and it looks like a hardware malfunction :(

    So as next step, contact a service provider allowed in your country and ask the guys for help. They can solve your problem. I think that it s mainboard issue because the USB ports are set on it.
    If your laptop is under warranty, the repair would be free :)
