Built-in HTML file in "folio" causes other indesign files be incorporated into article

For our next issue, we have the following files:

When adding editors_letter.indd to a Folio, (which uses a web content of editors_letter_embed.html overlay) inside, it seems that the other indesign files are added inside the article causing it to be almost 40 Mb. (I can say that what is happening because to update article says

Adding file... TOC_Apr.indd

Adding file... Shop_talk_ChicFeed.indd

.. etc.

If I remove the overlay of web content, it is much smaller. (The total size of folio)

Make a subfolder in the current folder and it seems NOT to add other files now.

  • Generated html code does not open in firefox/safari when incorporated into an iframe

    Hello

I was mingling with robohelp for a few weeks now. I can generate a html from a Framemaker book end site. It is integrated in an < iframe > integrate into our website. It works fine on chrome. "However I get on firefox/safari is all ' i ' '. View the source, it becomes obvious that this weird bunch of characters appears before the < html >. I looked into the real generated html code and I see this < feff > tag prefix before the < html > in each file. Naturally, I advanced and removed and the page will now load correctly on firefox/safari. However, the balls are all screwed up. I read a post somewhere that says < feff > contains information about the css classes.

I use techniques Comm Suite - 3.5(full_version). The webhelp html code is generated using the framemaker publishing feature using a file of saved settings *.isf.

So, how to fix this? Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you

The "bunch of odd characters" is known as the BOM (Byte Order Mark). The problem is on the server.

I saw the same thing when you first use RoboHelp 8 and this is what I have been told by the company that hosts my site.

"I would therefore conclude that the solution to this problem (on Linux systems running Apache) is to add the directive AddDefaultCharset utf-8 on the site's .htaccess file or the Apache config. The advantage of the latter is that it affects only the individual sites. The Apache default character set comes from the file of locale on Linux and defaults to iso-8859-1. It is the conflict between the Apache header with iso-8859-1 and utf-8 character page, which obviously causes problems Firefox. »

In a post on the chrissy_tissy forum added

My machine is Windows, but this still worked correction - some notes on post-porn the fix:

    1. make the fix itself (httpd.conf: AddDefaultCharset utf-8).

    2. restart the box to apply the hotfix.

    3. once the box is restarted, clear your FireFox cache to ensure that you do not continue to see the cached file.

Once all this is done, you will see the contents of output as expected.

  • The fonts are in the "Font Folio Select" Adobe and can be incorporated into the software and applications for the distribution

    Hello

I need to select a few fonts for our customer to choose that can be legally incorporated in their software for distribution.

    After reading this article:

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/jlockman/2011/06/06/fonts-and-where-can-i-use-them/

Looks like it's a "Font Folio Select" Adobe that contains fonts that we can use, but I can't find any information on where to put their hands on it.

I spent hours hunting for fonts, we can legally use and read many licensing agreements and still have no idea what fonts are available for developers!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

Thank you for reaching out to Adobe Type team.

While the blog of James Lockman, you mentioned is correct that our product, select Font Folio, contains only fonts that we control and for which we can offer broader rights, he is mistaken in his description of the way in which it is offered.  Do Folio select is actually a collection of fonts that we offer for the use of the servers - for customers who need fonts for automated print services or services on the web that offer a selection of fonts.  I'm really sorry for misinformation.

Licenses for fonts for applications is something that we can provide you with a direct quote.  If you want to email me directly at the address below, I can you contact a sales associate who can help you.  In addition, if you provide me a list of fonts that you are interested in licensing, if there are fonts that are not ours, I can also provide you details Foundry so that you can go to them directly.

Are these some HTML files that you have saved on your computer?

Firefox can display HTML files saved locally, but depending on how the pages were saved, some items may be missing. There are also some security restrictions that Firefox applies to files space in a different way than the pages on the web. Yet, it is worth a try.

Normally, by double-clicking the file will launch it in your default browser. If there are problems with the display, could you describe it in more detail?

The file is unzipped now... it's a folder art tutorial... and maybe I did the wrong thing by asking my Wordpad for opening the text file. Which is written in HTML. Whenever I click on it, all I get is the raw HTML on a wordpad document. Maybe I should try to download the tarball again? I have another one that is in PDF format, which is not a problem at all! It is with this text file not PDF that gives me headaches...

[EDIT] Nevermind, I found it! Change of Wordpad is not bad. I right click on this file and of course it shows Firefox as the first option! I don't know how I missed it before. But when I chose that file opened fine in the browser.

All is well now! Thank you! -rosebud

  • I can't have my favorites of IE 8 bookmarks Firefox (ver.25.0.1) even after export IE fav. html file and then import via the bookmark manager!

using professional XP, hundreds of favorites in IE 8. I can't their in Firefox, either directly by the Bookmark Manager (show all bookmarks/importing data and backup/import from another browser OR exporting favorites in IE 8 to an html (fact) file and then get back Firefox Bookmarks and using bookmarks/show all bookmarks bookmarks-import and backup/import html file.) I find the file, double click on open, BUT nothing happens in the bookmarks library?

It is not one case about others come more - nothing happens?

Have you tried a search in bookmarks (library) Manager since some know bookmarks?

Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Index.html file missing when I download Iweb site to go Daddy

So, I built a website using Iweb.

I downloaded on Godaddy using Fetch.

The files are all there in the correct folder, but the site does not open.

When the support of Go Daddy looked at the files, they said that the problem is the index.html file is missing.

It is a compressed, file index.html.gz, but they are not familiar with it and this isn't in the right format to use.

If someone else has had this problem and you know the solution? I tried to launch my site for 48 hours now.

Support said that everything seems to be fine.

    Thank you

It all depends on how you have downloaded from the site?

Have you downloaded your site folder or just the contents of the folder of your site?  If you have downloaded the site folder, then you need 2 files to index - an index.html file will be inside the site folder and the other will be sitting outside pointing in.

If you have just downloaded the content in your folder Public_html on GoDaddy, then you need an index.html file and that it is.

Don't know how you got index.html.gz.  What you need is one or two files index.html and that's all.

Republish your site new to iWeb to a local folder and check the files that have been produced and if the index.html file is there.  It should be, but there should be no zipped or other, just one or two files with index.html.

    They must be there.

This is the first site you've built?  If so, why choose iWeb?  Not sure that this is an unsupported product that has not been updated for at least 6 years now?

Remember to move on and using supported software.

  • Adobe animate CC (2015) - how can incorporate you JS in the HTML file in the publication?

We need the ability to include all the inline Javascript in the HTML file using Adobe animate CC (2015).

Manually update the HTML code and referenced JS file after publishing a bandage isn't really an option as any Animate republish tasks will blow these manual changes.

Is there a way or an option to animate part of the edition to include all Javascript code in the HTML file published?

I searched on this here and the web and saw many others ask on the same topic, but have not seen any recent or formal Adobe responses.

    Thanks in advance.

There is no built-in way to do currently. We seek to include this option for a future release.

  • How to publish HTML files exported with Go Daddy file transfer Panel?

I am a beginner with Adobe Muse, so I have no experience with it whatsoever.

All started with Muse. No experience at all with it.

Fusion of objects Net (NOF) used so far. With the NOF software, I had to publish the HTML files in a "flat" structure, which exports all files in a single foldrer. No other records inside. Then I download all the files in the Panel of Go Daddy File Transfer, without any problem. But in the Muse, the files are exported in a folder with many files inside. Thus, when I download the exported Muse html files in the same way, the exported site is not displayed correctly. It says "files are missing. It's as if she's not read all the files I downloaded. It seems to only read one level. All other files in the folders

When I had similar problems with NOF like this before, I had to publish the files in "flat site structure. Then the problem is solved. But in Adobe Muse, there is no way to publish the exported files in a "flat" structure. So what I am doing wrong? Help, please. Thank you

Use the built in FTP in Muse.

In the upper right corner, click on 'Publish' and select 'FTP host'

You will then get a new dialog box where you enter your GoDaddy FTP account information.

And then it's as simple as hitting the publish button when you want to update your site. You don't need to make it through the Panel of GoDaddy file transfer. This is the way strong and open to too many potential errors.

  • When I try to join my stylesheet css Dreamweaver gives me an error saying that my .css file seems to be a .html file and will not work. How can I fix this so I can join my stylesheet?

I built a css style sheet in Dreamweaver. When I try to attach it to my website html, it prompt me that my 'css file seems to be a .html file and can not attach. I tried to remove the / * / as suggested by other forums, but this has not solved the problem. I was using stylesheets css without problem 2 days ago. Now, I get this error message. How can I fix this so I can join my stylesheet?

What looks like the code in the CSS file?

An external CSS file must be written in CSS only (no html tag like,,etc.).

It must also have a .css file extension, if yours has an extension .html, that it will not work.

  • Why DW CC 20141 fluid grid load HTML file that contains a Google Analytics script Tracking Code so slow?

I work exclusively in liquid grid because my site is a Responsive Web Design.  I can't with into DW CC 20141 slow load times, when my file, as they all do of course, the Google Analytics tracking Code script.

I'm on a Windows 8.1 using a Dell Precision laptop M3800 with 16 GB (2x8GB) 1600 MHz DDR3 memory . Each of the 180 or so our site web pages, of course, has its tracking Code Google Analytics script. It is placed, following the instructions of Google, as the last entry in the head of <>.  Google Analytics does not give the order to place the script in the JS folder with a CRS for her, but rather in the head of <>.  It takes up to a year and a half or two minutes for DW CC 20141 loading the Google Analytics tracking Code script.  In other words, the grid does not show Live View mode until finally analytics.js appears in the toolbar of the Document. A minute or two can add up when every page you load it takes long.  And making new pages fluid grid, as this is done through the command save as; each new page did you face the minute or two waiting time since all these pages have the Google Analytics tracking Code script.  As a result, this component "time" alone, assuming that I am accessing and/or make 20 pages per week (and in our business, it's easily the case) the calculation is that I lose between 17 and 35 hours a year just with DW CC 20141 load script Tracking Code Google Analytics essential.

I loaded the HTML files that do not have the Google Analytics tracking Code script as a test and the files load at a normal speed.

Therefore, the new framework built-in Chrome browser engine has a serious workload problem when he faces a HTML5 file with a script Google Analytics tracking Code.  Oddly enough, the previous version of DW CC 2014, with the old browser engine did not have this problem of slow charge since I was loading these same files in this version of DW CC until 8 October or so.

I think this new browser engine is a platform for Google who apparently has a problem rendering or loading a Google Analytics tracking Code script.  That makes no sense at all.

Anyone else had this problem with DW CC 20141 slow load?

    Thank you.

Thank you for providing the Ray files. We could reproduce this problem with your files.

We have recorded a bug & track internally. I'll keep you posted.

  • The DPS continues to NOT work with html files

Hi guys Adobe... I try 2 days download a blank page with a html (1 MB) file... the procedure fails all time... I see the message "Error during download". And the server seems to produce abnormal of big files (156 of 417 MB)...IMG_0006.jpg

The other 2 projects has been achieved before your DPS updated and contains several html files... A reason for this? Thank you

This isn't a DPS support site, but rather a community forum. You must contact Adobe through your support contract if you need technical assistance.

The sounds of question related to how you are trying to use HTML files. We have HTML articles each month and you don't have any problems.

My only thought is that the folder that you choose to include when you import your HTML articles a lot of additional data, which is bloating the size of the folio.

  • Cannot change the .html file in dreamweaver?

Why I can't change .html file in Dreamweaver CS 5.5 when it is not attached to a model?

I've always been able to edit every other time that I open the file (since I built the site over two years ago).

Now, whenever I try to edit it in Design view, no matter where I click in the file of the whole page gets a dark gray overlay and I can't get a cursor.

I'm still able to modify the code directly, but I will not be restricted.

The last thing I did last time I opened the file paste the Google Analytics code just before the < / head > tag. I did it to all the files on the site, but it's the only one that does not. I tried to get out of this code, but it makes no difference.

I use a 6 month old Macbook pro.

    Can someone help me?

    In your stylesheet, you have-

    . Container {overflow: hidden; width: 100% ;}}

    .container2 {overflow: hidden; width: 646px; margin: 0 10px 0 0}

Try right-clicking on the page in Design view, and then selecting view item > full and see if that helps.

  • Dreamweaver / excel or access - how to get the series of html files

    Hello

IM pretty newbe to dreameaver, any advice is appreciated.

I have prepared a web page layout using dreamweaver. I also have a list of 200 lines with 4 columns in excel.

I d like dreamweaver automatically create series of clean html files (no java or other technologies) only html and css, and use the data from the excel file.

I d like dreamweaver to 'take' each of the cells of a row in the excel file and put it in its place for the layout (description3, description1, description2, description4). as the output, I d like to get 200 html files.

I was sleeping me with options of database in dreamweaver for a few days and I had the feeling that the features are rather designed for someone who creates dynamic web pages and a database installed on a server. in one such case dreamweaver inserts... java, ajax and spry... (I don't know m) code that I don't want.

    Thanks in advance.

    I have the

This may seem a little too complex, but you "could" export your Excel files to xml format and built pages by using spry data sets.

In this way, you wouldn't need a database and the learning curve is perhaps easier.

"Look at the demos of spry on the following link and the previous link to connect to the developers for ' how - to of.

Using spry and export your data from Excel to xml format would mean just update your xml file to reflect changes you need for data to Web sites.

Note: in this way, you can use any server provider and there is no specific requirement.

  • Many fonts render when Firefox opens the local html file

I use a 3 rd-party program called Fontlist. He reads all the fonts in the Windows fonts folder and then uses a line of the user selected text to generate a html file on the hard drive that shows the line of the text displayed in each font. Because it is a program of the 3rd part, I have no control over it is programming html.

When the generated html file is browsed with Internet Explorer, all fonts display correctly. When browsing with Firefox, maybe half or more fonts have a police-looking ordinary backup who suite. I was not able to discern any trend as to what type of font is displayed correctly or does not work.

In the research online, the problem, I saw a hint that assigning false to security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy could solve the problem. I tried, and it had no effect. Also, in the advanced option to fonts and colors, I checked the box to let web pages to choose their own fonts.

Would there be other parameters that would allow Firefox make virtually any standard font industry installed on the system? This can affect all 3 rd-party sources, not only Fontlist html files.

The css generated by Fontlist puts no quotes around the family names of fonts, including those with a numeric parameter. This explains the part of chess, but not all.

It is obvious that the html and css accepted by Internet Explorer is much more forgiving than FF.

The Fontlist developer will have to address this issue.
