Built in mic recording fluctuating levels

I just bought a Dell Inspiron laptop. The built-in microphone (Realtek High Definition) Audio seems to fluctuate in volume when using it.  I tried it in a range of different programs with the same result.

The audio you record fine at first, then dip down until it is not picking up anything, then pull up again to normal.  I tried without much success, to find this problem described elsewhere.  Any help would be appreciated with it.

Thank you.

I tried without much success, to find this problem described elsewhere.

It could be a hardware problem on your computer. Try using the audio driver of native Windows and compare it to the sound of the manufacturer driver. If you get the same results with both, then probably hardware (support technical contact), but if the microphone works very well with the native driver then probably a bug in the driver from Realtek.

If you need more help provide the name of full model of your laptop and the operating system.

As far as I know the audio internal Microphone is not available on the Qosmio G20-120.

  • My helmet speakers are out - prioritize my built in Mic headset

After finding that the microphone of my helmet (which I thought was broken, since he has never worked on my computer) works very well on my phone, I started to focus on why I can't hear out of it on my computer. Apparently when I set up a microphone on Realtek HD Audio Manager, my helmet speakers are used as the microphone instead as it is built in mic.

Anyone know if there is a way I can fix this? Thank you

If you use headphones 'style phone helmet', in other words, only Jack and 3 connectors, his computer map ports usually do not support 3way plugs as you have, only 2 (or in the case of mic).

You most likely will need a headset with a plug for speakers and a microphone. The microphone can be recognized in the port of real, but pregnant mic (on headpones) will not work.

It is a hardware limitation, your phone has a different take than your computer does (very probably).

    Hello

When I bought this computer (sep-09) everything worked fine. Then in March (I hade it idle for some time), my built in mic has stopped working.

What eles is fina, and I scanned the Web for solutions and tried to install the new drivers, unistall them, all possible boots, disabel and restart, but at most I just get a static sound of my recordings of test.

I use win 7 home pre, but the problems started when I was with Vista. Now, I am of ideas, and my friends on Skype develops enough not to hear me.

Is that what I can do to get the microphone working, or should I buy a headset?

    Grateful for help

    Hi mate

To be honest, I would use a helmet because helmet still provides a better speak of quality.

But the internal MIC is part of the webcam and the microphone is controlled by the software of webcam too.
Please launch the webcam software and go to settings.
    Then, choose Audio tab.
Here, you must increase the volume to maximum.

    Welcome them

  • How to eliminate whistling in mic records?

How to eliminate whistling in mic records? I made a recording of a piano garage band-tailed.

It sounds good in GarageBand.  When I move to iTunes there is a hiss.   Then, when I burn it to a CD even more hiss on the high-end.

I don't know if the hiss or white noise is in the original garage band, in the transfer to iTunes, or when I burn the CD.

But it appears more in the CD itself.

What version of GarageBand do you use?  How are you sharing iTunes?

You compress the audio? Then try to share uncompressed.

Try to change the preferences of reading - Sound Enhancer, Sound Check in iTunes.

Change these settings in iTunes > Preferences > reading and see if it will make a difference.

Earlier, I have enabled stereo mix and disabled my built in mic. I've always been able to go back and fourth between the two, but now it doesn't let me do anything. • How to check the mic or line level BEFORE recording?

I used to use CoolEdit Pro 2000, then the first CS1 hearing (which was the same program as far as I could tell).  With earlier versions, I could follow the input signals and display the levels without actually start recording.  YES, I know that you can't adjust the parameters of audio of the hearing, but he must see the hearing levels before you know how to adjust the material.  I can't find how to proceed with the hearing CC.  Of course, I can start recording, get a check levels, then stop and delete the record, but it's stupid. So what don't understand me?

And forgive me if this is a stupid question, but if it has been asked and answered before I can't find where.

Right-click on the meter and select the input Signal of the meter at the top of the list or Alt + I to activate it.

  • Built in mic has stopped working on my Satellite Pro T130

    Dear Forum,

the microphone of my Satellite Pro T130 15F stopped working a couple of days at a time.

    It captures the white noise.
But he responds only to knock on the place where it is located next to the built-in webcam. It does not pick up normal voice or cry out to him...

Can't bring any changes to the software that could influence.

What I've done so far: deleted drivers, installed new, updated all Toshiba Software and downloaded and run all the stuff suggested to this problem.
And of course, it is not set to mute or upgraded to the bottom.

    Still no cure.
    What's next?

    Thanks much adavance.

Hmmm, it makes a static noise? Kinda sounds like hardware related issue
But check the microphone settings in the control panel-> sound-> recording tab
Here, you should see two entries; internal microphone and external microphone port.
The internal microphone must be turned on!

In addition, the internal mic belongs to the webcam. In the assistant webcam-> settings-> audio tab, you can increase the maximum microphone volume.
    Check this box

  • Built in mic on acer aspire one does not

The microphone on my acer aspire one netbook does not work. I am running windows XP on the netbook and had this problem once before some time back, but can't remember what the person tech told me to uninstall that does the job all of a sudden again. Hello

    Thank you for your message.

I see that you are facing problems with the built-in microphone.

Let's not worry! I'm here to help.

    Quick questions:

    1. what exactly happens when you use the built-in microphone? You receive an error message?

    2. What is the status of the device in Device Manager?

Check out this link to learn more about device manager:

    By using Device Manager

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/snap_dev_mgr.mspx?mfr=true

Let's try the following and check:

    Method 1:

We will adjust the volume of your microphone and check if it is set as default.

    (a) right click on the "speaker" icon located on the bottom right corner the screen of the taskbar.

    (b) click on sounds, click on the recording tab.

    (c) click Microphone, and then click Properties. (Note to make sure that this work appears under Microphone. If the job does not appear, click on Microphoneand then click set as default.)

    (d) in the Properties of the Microphone dialog box, click the custom tab.

    (e) select or clear the check box Amp Microphone .

    (f) click the levels tab.

    (g) set the slider for the volume to the desired level, and then click OK.

    (h) click on OK to close the sound dialog box.

    Method 2:

I would also say that you update the drivers for your Microphone and looking for the issue.

    Hello

You remember what you were doing in fact when you play with the settings to get the microphone to pick up sound at least?

If you see the steps listed by RajithR above, please follow them until you get to the "Recording" tab Recording devices how do you see? If you see more than one, then this might be the problem. If there is more than one device listed, you will need to disable all except the internal mic. This should get the mic back to normal levels.

I hope this helps. Please post back with the results.
