Burned disks has been replaced as white when poster

I had my Pavilion dv6000 since under or up to one year and until these last few months, I was able to burn DVDs (video or data) as usual. Sometimes my dvd player would have difficulties to read some DVD, either burned, to be bought, and it would make a noise whirring as if they were having trouble finding the disk, but all in all it worked well.

But recently, I had bad to burn discs and playing burned discs. Sometimes the burning process, use any program or what type of disc that I use, will not end and it goes into formidable "not responding" mode or just stays on the final burning stages or update until I cancel or eject the disc. Most of the time, however, the burn completes successfully, but when I try the disc in my laptop, it appears as empty.

I'm not techno savy while I can provide all the details that ask you, so you'll need to explain how I can do to get their.

If it helps any, my drive is a tsstcorp cddvdw ts-l632n ata. I have just need to know if it is a software problem, or if I need to get a new driver may be.

Thank you very much

Hello Skaski,

Yes, I will try to burn a few different types of brands of cd/dvd. With regard to the types that can be the disc burner use basically is the responsibility of the manufacturer but is not really the issue it is necessary. You can try to see if there is an update of the firmware for your drive model. If the drive is bad or, failing that, then yes of coarse, you will need to replace it. They are usually held in with a screw, then you slide out then slide in the new drive and rebooting the system is all that is simple enough. They average about $ 50 for a new. If I were you, I would buy an external drive to do your burning and what ever you need. Just use the edge only as a back up to install the software or the operating system. One last thing before that I forget, you can try to clean the lens of the laser with a rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip gentley clean clean the lens. Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!
