Button nail in interactive PDF from InDesign CC

I designed an interactive PDF in InDesign CC. When I export and open it with Acrobat the 'buttons' have a blue fill (see them the color for the border of stationary fields).

I know that I can go into my Acrobat preferences and disable this option however when sharing with other users the PDF I don't want that they have to make those changes in their Acrobat preferences or devrais I must. I understand the highlight color is important when creating text fields for forms, but it's a boring and useless feature for the "buttons".

It also makes my custom buttons look crap. Is it possible in InDesign to turn off the highlight color before exporting to interactive PDF?

See my screen capture below, you can see how it destroyed my design.

Geigreg I am a designer as well and understand try this with my code above:

Acrobat X Pro, you will use the JavaScript Panel in the tool pane. You may need to display the JavaScript in the dropdown at the top right of the Tools pane.

To add the script to the Document level, you then click Document JavaScripts. An opening of dialogue where you enter the name of the script (for example "highlighted". Then, a text editing box opens, where you can enter the code. Select the entire document and delete it. Then add the code as described above. Confirm and close the dialog boxes.

For the willClose script, click the value of the Document Actions. Opens a dialog box where you can choose the events. Select close document. An edigint text box opens, where you can enter the code. Enter the code as described above. Confirm and close the dialog boxes.

Save the document and reopen it.

I hope this can help.

  • Be careful with Interactive PDF from InDesign

    Hi all

I created an interactive PDF in InDesign CS5 with a series of buttons these buttons to link to pages of a bookmark in the document. These buttons are configured on one of the masters. It seems that whenever I get more than 10 keys on the master, I get the following warning when I open the PDF file in Adobe Reader:

"Please Note: you cannot save a completed copy of the form on your computer." "If you want a copy for your records, please fill it out and print it"

I don't have any kind of form fields in the document that I know. Is it possible to locate the form fields if they in fact exist?

Is there a limit of 10 buttons by master perhaps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Exporting to PDF from InDesign CS5

Probably a real simple question to answer, but I am confused.  I'm trying to export a bulletin 6 pages in .pdf format from InDesign CS5; It comes out as a 4-page document in the following sense: the first page is fine (vertical on letter size), the 2nd and 3rd pages appear side by side (horiz. / letter) like pages 4 and 5.  Page 6 is again very well (vertical/letter).  I never had this problem with CS4...  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance, Wharton

  • You can create a search button in an interactive PDF?

Is it possible to create a search button in an interactive PDF? Our client does not want to use the adobe reader search (CTRL F) and instead want a personalized with in the actual PDF search bar. We use Indesign 5.5 and that you do not have adobe acrobat X.

Any ideas / help would be greatly appreciated!

You can use the built-in search window and use something like this:

    var textToSearch = app.response ("enter the search term :");

    If (textToSearch! = "" ") search.query (textToSearch,"ActiveDoc");

Or you can use a text field (let's call it the search term) and a button that runs this code:

    var textToSearch = this.getField("Search_Term").valueAsString;

    If (textToSearch! = "" ") search.query (textToSearch,"ActiveDoc");

  • Can't print PDF from InDesign after update Microsoft anni

Hi all, since the anni update I was unable to print PDFS from InDesign. No matter if I put PDF for default printer or use the option "Microsoft in PDF format; what I get is: "printing error: Adobe Print Engine failed at the end of your data due to an unknown problem. Sometimes it will print a little less than half of a 60-page document and that's all - it fails (but I get a PDF of that half...). Sometimes, it just goes straight to the error.

Anyone know what is happening on our how to fix? I have a deadline...

    See you soon

Hi Dov, thanks for the reply. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I use export when I want to send it to the printing press. However, at this point, I am willing to create a test that is reduced file size and allows me to put all 60 pages of the document in a gap of seven pages using the print option of 3 x 3 thumbnails per page. It gives me a manageable file to send to several people for the document of proof and, at this stage, the output of high quality is not necessary.

However, I seem to have solved my problem:

As mentioned, the document prints 1-27 on a 60 page document (print, failed on page 28).

The paper would not print the range 27-60, when I tried later.

The document will print 30-60 range.

Therefore, the problem lies in pages 27 and 28. I've got rid of the pdf linked to two pages and tried work a print - it worked. then, of course, my problem lies in one of the PDFs linked to each page 27 or 28. It turns out that when I opened the linked PDF (sent to me as a PDF from another company as an advertisement) on page 28 in PS, PS automatically rasterized image, I recorded to a location different, re-related in InDesign, and guess what - it worked. I got the impression that I asked who had already failed.

So, this boiled down to a single work of art linked PDF requiring a pixelation...

    All the best

  • Export interactive PDF in indesign, with the animation of the edge to the SWF file?

    Hello

I have an interactive pdf in indesign with animation, works very well when they are exported to the swf file.

I need to use more complex animations that Indesign has, so I created some new features of Adobe Edge animate, exported save them as a file .oam and then put them in the Indesign file.

If I use the Preview on the animation tab I see indesign animations and the edge, but if I export it to a SWF file is - this only animation to indesign working, and if I export to epub file is only the edge animation work.

Somehow it is possible to export so that the two works of animation types. and it is possible to do it in a SWF file.

I have Creative Cloud 2014 for both programs

    Thank you!

    NO.

  • Anyone know how to export a PDF from InDesign is "click to go to the next page" instead of "scroll to go to the next page?

Anyone know how to export a PDF from InDesign is "click to go to the next page" instead of "scroll to go to the next page?

I do not use the InDesign last, but in the past ID options for export to the format PDF did not define how a PDF should be considered once exported.  However, these settings can be adjusted in Acrobat via preferences: departure of layout and Zoom in the view of the Page.

  • I need to create a PDF from InDesign file that people can change in Reader or Acrobat

I need to create a PDF from InDesign file that people can change (for example, change a name of 'John' to 'Johnny') of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. I already looked at forms, but they do not keep your police, faces and sizes colors and just do everything is selected as a form of black text, 12pt, Times New Roman.

    Can anyone here help me?

    Vincent,

If you use Acrobat pro, build your .pdf file, and then save it as (french version):

... so that everyone using Acrobat Reader (or Pro, of course) can change the file .pdf (with restrictions), add comments...

If you want to try to 'protect' your .pdf file, you can try with this (in the menu 'Preferences' (french version)):

    Using the version cs5 v7.0.4

If I read this correctly, you make a wrong assumption. You are assuming that if you have a PDF file with interactivity, that when you place in InDesign, it will retain its interactivity. This is false. This workflow will not work. InDesign does NOT read interactivity when placing a PDF file.

Adobe strongly recommends use of PDF/X-4, which retains direct management transparency and color all the way to the INVESTIGATION period.

PDF/X-1a is indeed antiquated for any content that uses anything other than CMYK + spot color or transparency.

All modern PDF workflow software supports PDF/X-4. If you are printing to a PostScript RIP, Acrobat Pro (version X and XI) can print PDF/X-4 of tears (or printers) pretty well.

  • How to restore good export PDF from InDesign CS3 or CS5 in Snow Leopard?

I had no problem to export to PDF from InDesign CS3 files (on a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.4) until last weekend, when all the fonts appear bitmap or thin and rough, and the images lost color depth and contrast. When I copied the InDesign document to my MacBook Pro laptop, also running 10.6.4 the PDF has emerged with its original quality. Support calls Adobe referred me to the incompatibilities between Snow Leopard and InDesign documents. One of these documents was several pages long, but I could not print from the Adobe to my HP website all-in-one Officejet, because one-third of the document was hidden under a white board. This makes it impractical for the troubleshooting document, because I don't have enough screen real estate (even on a 23-inch screen) to let the open document and all the pages and dialogue boxes needed for reference. Back to the phone and chat support, I was told to upgrade my Creative Suite Premium CS3 to CS5 ($ 800!) and buy the updated Acrobat Pro ($200), with no guarantee that this cost of $1,000 would actually solve the problem. I downloaded the trial version of InDesign CS5, and it has NOT solved the problem. I am also afraid that the problem did not exist before last weekend. Before that, my CS3 and Snow Leopard combination worked very well. Then I checked the forums and was appalled by the variety of issues related to PDF files, for which there seems to be no general solution. Meanwhile, I have hundreds of ads, I'm supposed to be prepare and e-mailing as evidence PDF to businesses nationwide. I have two books of 120 with 256 pages to be submitted to printers in PDF format with all kinds of fonts and files image belonging to my clients. The last time I presented a paper on a printer by electronic mail, the work went perfectly. This time and the next, it is obvious, that I won't be able to send a PDF file to all! If this is the case, my activities related to the directories of 27 will be unable to absorb the expenditures necessary to start all over again with software and new computers, and I'll be out of business. Period. Yes - someone ' an at - it a way to solve this problem? Surely, I would be grateful.

  • Interactive PDF to Indesign CC 2014 button problems

Hi, I make an interactive PDF for a presentation in Indesign and came with a few problems. I put the next and previous buttons whose fine workmanship, but I can put cursor anywhere on the page and click on and it will go to the next page that lays off the next button. Is there a way to disable this option. The following problem is I created a few roll on buttons and put them to go to a certain page, but when I did the PDF don't work the roller more works fine but when I click on these. I chose OnClick for button function.  Can someone please help with these problems

    Thank you.

    Ben

but I can put the cursor anywhere on the page and click on and it will be presented on the next page

This is the default behavior, and there is nothing to prevent a user to the next page with a click of mouse.

I have created a few roll on buttons and put them to go to a certain page

"Go to Page" action is SWF or HTML5, is not actionable in PDF. For the PDF, you can use the "Go to Destination" action instead. Define all first Page, or anchor text as a hyperlink destination.

  • SWF animations works does not properly during export to PDF from InDesign

I use InDesign CS5 and you have created a document that I want to add interactivity and animations to. I created buttons and page destionations, etc., which all work perfectly when you export to PDF, but the simple animation that I wanted to include do not work. The animations were created in InDesign, then exported as a SWF file and then imported selection placed in InDesign and then exported as an interactive PDF where animations either do not work, have not been picked up or gift does not work as it should. What I am doing wrong, how can I get the animations work properly?

First of all, if you care about your audience, stop using SWF that has now

    ZERO support on mobile devices.

However after that make sure that InDesign is fully patched, I would recommend

Place the SWF file in the PDF file in Acrobat Pro instead.

  • Making page turns into a PDF from Indesign?

I made a brochure in Indesign, I then converted into a flash file in order to get the page loops I then went back into Indesign placed the flash file just create in the Indesign document on a new spread then click on create an interactive pdf, however the pdf file does not pick up the information from the flash file it just prints the page blank Indesign with the image of the flash file. Can anyone help?

A page curl swf will work in a PDF document, but instead of placing the swf file in Indesign and exporting to PDF, you will need to do this in Acrobat, using the Flash Multimedia tool and insert the swf file.

  • interactive PDF using Indesign CS5.5 problem with overlay

    Hi all

I designed an interactive pdf - not for the web. I have a stratification of problem on a page. On the page, there are 6 buttons. Each key pressed will propose a box containing information and content. When I designed the page using indesign cs5.5, I did so that most information box has been at the top of the layer. I thought this would be the cleanest way to present the page. By having the largest area of content (each of the six boxes of content are different sizes) in the upper part, it would cover the other boxes. When I exported the file to the smallest box was the head, and then the secondest etc. It seems pretty messy.

Is there a way to make sure that the lagest content area is upstairs when it exported in pdf format?

    Concerning

    Have patience!

Have you tried to put this bigger box on its own layer at the top?  I don't know much about buttons etc but if you expect someone coming here makes.  A large number of contributors are in zones different, but...
