Button next to the quiz slides...

I'm working on a quiz in Captivate 8 and I have a dilemma:

1. If participants click Next (after having a response) and no shipment, they can get to the next slide, but their responses will not be saved and they receive no feedback if it was good or bad

2. If we remove the button following and participating, click on send and then return to a previous slide for some reason, they aren't able to go beyond the slide, they argued, already.

Any suggestions on the best way to handle this?  Is it possible that you can Submit, so we can click on it more than once?

You might find a lot of details in this post (very busy) blog:

Question Question slides in Captivate - Captivate blog

Up to CP8 the next button had a double feature:

  1. During the quiz, it has the function of a "Skip" button
  2. During the review, it works like a real button below and must be present to allow navigation

You can read my solution is to drag the button under the clear button, to avoid confusion for users between Submit and. When they are in review mode, the "Clear" button disappears and the next button appears.

  • Introduce the button disappears when you return to the quiz slide

    Hello world

We have just improved Captivate 4.0 to 5.5. I teach to 5.5 differences between 4.0 and one that I can't understand.

On quiz slides, if the learner move previous and next in quiz slides, buttons quizzes are fine. However, be they click on slide 1 quiz, then advance to the quiz slide the submit button flashes and then disappears for this slide and all other quiz slides. I can't find a setting to fix this.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like a problem of scope of quiz.  If you click on the first slide of quiz that would take you to the slide BEFORE the first slide of questionnaire which is technically outside the scope of quiz.  This generally means locking Captivate quiz.

I didn't know personally this Act of disappearance of button, but you can check if the scope of the quiz is the likely culprit by adding an a received, click Inbox in the first slide of the project, which will then extend the scope of a quiz on this slide.  If this prevents your quiz slide buttons from being endangered, we know the problem.  Which may mean that you have always found a bug that needs to be fixed though.

  • iOS (mobile phone) video at quiz goes full screen, hiding the quiz slide

    Hi all.

I have a project that takes a single video and inserts periodic questions everything.

Everything works fine, except as seen on an iPhone, the video goes full screen - do not stay confined within the slide - so that when the video is paused and the quiz slide is displayed, the user must hit the 'output 'X' fullscreen' downstairs.

This could be a problem, because if I didn't know any better - I would have thought just locked video.

Is somehow I can have either remain within the confines of the slide, or automatically the output full screen?

    Thank you

Yes but it's kinda cheating... You would add the video as a video on its own page event. You create a page before it with a link to the video image. When clicked on, it goes to the next slide video what auto starts and is full screen. When reading over it auto returns to the previous page, giving the illusion of the IOS behavior.

  • Navigation buttons, staged at the incorrect slide

I have a project where the actions of navigation work as expected until I get to a specific slide (slide 39). When I click on the button there, its action is set to access the slide 40, but whenever it goes to slide 34. I have removed and replaced the same. I changed it with a button and a click box. Always the same. There is no shift from stocks of entry or exit. I'm a bit confused.

Maybe the problem is with the required parameter. You can try another option?

You can also push the user to answer each question by hiding the other (which is really a button "skip" during the quiz) under the clear button. In this way the user must use the submit button and must answer the question.

  • Positioning of the quiz slide objects

I'm working on a project, Captivate 5, with many slides of quiz. The questionnaire slides have implemented project by someone else. I need to move different quiz slide objects (submit button "back" button "clear" key, the question text, review area, legend of suspicion, etc.).

These items must be moved to the same position in all the slides in the quiz. I've been moving these items in one place and it's very tedious.

Is it possible to create a style for all these objects move on all the slides in the questionnaire at the same time?

Each of the items you mention on the quiz slide are a special type of object in Captivate.

So although the object Styles does not allow you to specify the coordinates X and Y of an object, you CAN simply move one of these objects on a slide where you want them all and then go to the accordion in Position and size properties (accordion in Cp5.5 Transform) tab, look for the small dropdown in the upper right the accordion and choose the option apply to all items.

The name is a bit misleading because it make you believe it will actually be the adjustment of positioning of each element in the project.  But the fact is that it it will only apply to items OF THE SAME TYPE OBJECT. So well that you would never do something like text captions in the main part of your project, you can do it safely for things like Submit, Clear, back, and buttons in quiz slides because all of them are in fact totally different types of objects to the extent of the Captivate is concerned.

Note also the possibility to apply it to all elements of the same style.  This means that you can create custom styles and apply them to only certain buttons or legends, if you wanted to only CERTAIN elements positioned in a certain way, while all the other elements should keep their original position.

  • Where can I find my favorites? I don't have the button next to the "home" button Is there anyway to add it?

Where can I find my favorites? There is no button next to the "home" button I like to look through a list of favorites to see what sites I visit occasionally and sites I visit often.

    Hi dianag,.

If you have the Firefox button, you can access your favorites by pressing Alt to temporarily activate the menu bar. You can also go to Firefox > Options and activate the menu bar full-time. You can also open your favorites using the hotkey Ctrl + B.

If you want to permanently add a bookmarks button to the toolbar, you should watch section of the Knowledge Base on the customization of the toolbar.

    Hope this helps!

  • I need a control Page (drop-down History button next to the previous/next page) which has, IE but not Firefox.

In Internet Explorer, there is a button next to the previous/next buttons on the navigation bar which lets you display the last pages visited in the current session. Is there an option in Firefox to do this?

Click and hold the unified back / next button, or right-click to get the rear / front in the history of this tab.

Or install this extension to get the restored former "drop-marker" button.

  • Adding buttons to the quiz slides

I want to add a button 'Continue' on a quiz

Slide, so that the user can take as much time to read the comments and then on the next question or the next task in e-learning.   The problem is that the icon of the button (to add new buttons) is grayed out in the slide of the questionnaire.  Similarly, I can't paste the navigation buttons I created for other slides on quiz slides.  How can I get around this (I'm not a programmer so don't want to try to create widgets)?

    Thank you, Richard

I've had success with that by creating the button in a new project only 1 slide - and important "objects" only on my blade of quiz - the properties of the button remained intact (with the exception of the multiple actions)

  • Captivate next button on top of quiz slide

    Hello

I'm working on a new e-Learning (see pictures below)... and then the next button (lower right) lies at the top of the rider's image (this image appear when properly respond to the user), however when I publish the project (second image) the image of the cyclist appears above the next button which makes it impossible to click on the next button.

Can you please advice on how to change this order of staking for the next button is on the top? Thank you

EU and know cause. Legends of feedback or forms will always appear above everything, which is also the case for buttons, buttons, click boxes! Now I understand what is happening: you have replaced the legend of feedback by this image and that is causing the problem. The next button does not act as a next button, but clicking on the slide (second stage of the submission process) that advances the slide, not the next button.

I hope that explains what I mean? There is a way to make images appear, but do not replace the comments because you will always have this problem. Have you read the blog post?

  • Drag a break is not the button "next".  All other slides work well, what don't get me?

    Hello

I created training modules that require the learner to click next to advance to the next slide.  In a slide, there could be transitions within this topic, but I want the learner to have to click to the next major topic (slide).  It works fine for all other blades, except for the following...

I am betting that the solution to this will be obvious to at least one of you.  I hope that my screen will show what I'm not doing correctly.

For all other slides, I Action drag 'Continue' enter (to move the script) and 'Pause' to the output, to make the button NEXT to do the work.  Others seem to work well, but this one gives me problems.  Any thoughts?

    Adobe Screenshot Slide Advance.jpg

What version do you use? None of the buttons on this slide is a break this slide. Add action break leaving CP7 (and 6) is not the way to go: this action is executed when the playback head has left the last image, so pause will occur on the first frame of the next slide. I'm puzzled that you say that it works on some slides? Sure that you do not have a break on the next button, which is the normal way to pause a slide. Also, there is no reason to do this slide as long. You can interrupt this button for 1 sec, and reduce the duration of the slide at 7secs, throw all the useless frames only increase the size of the file.

  • Adding buttons to the quiz slide?

    Hello

It seems to me that you can not add a button to a slide of questionnaire, is it true or I'm nuts... or both!

    See you soon

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

Could not find a way to achieve what you want with the ordinary Question slides. In CP5 it is quite easy to slide "good plan" (I'll call it the 'cheat' further slide) and come back to the question slide after him (there is an option "Visited, jump to the last slide"), but this can only be triggered when the user has given an answer and click on the submit button. And when he returns to the Question slide, the response can be removed to be replaced by another. This isn't the way you want it to behave, I understood.

The alternative does not use slides in Question but in order to build slides using standard and interactive objects (whose score must be fixed). Then you have the total control, you can "clear" a response if necessary, create a dedicated button to go to the slide 'cheat' and then return on the question slide, even to decrement the score possible (due to the use of the "slide cheat"), etc. Do you want give me it a try?

  • Captivate 7 - hide / disable the button 'next' until the question is answered

We try to make mandatory to answer a question before moving on to the next slide.

Ideally, we want to hide / remove the following navigation button until the answer to the question.

    Any help would be appreciated

P.S. I have check the Adobe forums and he suggested to put the next button under the clear key - that works... but not if you go to the slide - you can then go forward

    Thank you very much

    Al

You found my suggestion to the next button, which is designed as a "Skip" button during Quiz, under the Clear button, which also has the advantage that it can be a confusion between the transmission and the next button indeed and it was certainly also mentioned that it is supposed to not allow movement back and hide the playback bar in this case.

    http://blog.lilybiri.com/question-question-slides-in-Captivate

The buttons on question slides cannot be controlled as the other buttons. They are integrated into the question slide. If you want total control, you must create question slides personalized (lots of work).

Another approach with the default question slides is to check the required "Answer All" option in Quiz preferences, settings. Or you can use submit all, allowing movement to the rear and a warning appears if all the questions are answered, but you alow to present even in this case.

And you could try, if you feel uncomfortable with stocks advanced, to create a conditional action on enter for each slide, which displays a form button that will be back next movement button...

  • Custom theme lose the buttons send in the quiz

    Hello

I have a theme that I made for a customer and only altered slide masters they used. The button publish (with the keys skip etc.) are all there in the master slide, and they show on every slide of issue they have, but when I click on preview this slide, or publish, as soon as you get to the quiz, there is not button Submit. The theme projects have been created on a computer and uploaded to a Google Drive folder. The customer has bought the Captivate and uploaded files (originally it did not download the theme, but has since begun from scratch - downloaded again any project and theme) of the reader, edited and sent them back. When I opened the projects, quiz slides and slides model has the Submit button, yet project overview (or editing by the way) are not there send buttons.

I think it's a matter of topic, but I can't understand what is happening. The project has only been to Captivate 9 I know - the customer has recently purchased Captivate, and my version is up-to-date.

Interestingly, I changed the theme to a standard embedded theme of Captivate and the Send button appears in the preview of the question slides. Should I create another theme from scratch, and then import it to each project? What went wrong initially - if it was the fact that he had not downloaded the theme I think which would break things, but then it picked up completely from scratch. Is there a difficulty without creating a new theme from scratch? PreviewExample SlideMaster

Since the buttons send return when you change the theme to one of the standard ones found in Captivate, I would say that you definitely need to recreate your custom theme.

I don't know what was wrong originally.  Captivate would not have worked at all for your customer unless there was at least some basic default themes, it can access.

Now, the important thing is that you get an another theme created.  One of the other default themes Captivate is to base on.  The empty theme is generally offered for it, but there was a reported issue last week on the forum on this topic, then perhaps choose a different this time out.

  • Create a button to reset the quiz

In Adobe Captivate 9, is there a way to create a button that emulates what the Retake Quiz button on the Quiz results slide? In other words, it resets all the quiz questions on unanswered and allows the user to resume the quiz. In my project, I would like to hide the slide Quiz results but who still have a way for the user to resume the quiz.

If it's an HTML5 project, create a tip action, run this JavaScript, cp.resetQuizData (); then perform an action to jump to the first quiz slide.

  • Can I add a button next to the bar of address (such as the Home key) that will open a new tab?

In Firefox 3, there was a button that would open up a new tab. This button was close to my address (next to the home, refresh, buttons etc.) bar and can also be used when I had no open tag (unlike the + on the tabbar, who is only there when I turn on my tabbar).
Although there is a button I can add that will open a new window, I would like to know if it is possible to have a similar button that will open a new tab.

    https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/how+to+customize+the+toolbar

There is a button tab in the Customize Palette, simply move it to a location of your choice.
