Buy an Adobe program?

Hello.

I went looking for a box of Adobe programs. I had seen them before. My University Bookstore sold me Adobe CC. There is no box and I was a little confused, but the clerk reassured me that I would be able to download and install the programs. I noticed the price on the Adobe CC small card-package was significantly lower than the price I had seen on the boxes of the Adobe programs who toted the disks and manuals and whatnot. The Registrar responded that it was related to the costs of production of disks and boxing against the production costs of downloaded software. That was enough, so I bought it.

But now I fear I may be doing something - please correct me if I'm wrong - but if my creative cloud membership runs out, I not be able to access all of these Adobe programs I paid more?

If this is the case, can someone point me to a place where I can pay a lump sum to buy a copy of an Adobe program and simply use it forever without being member of anything whatsoever or archive online now and again? I... Well I definitely probably would not be able to pay the said sum given that I'm not a student, but I * really * would like to know where I could acquire a kind of forever-version of these programs. Those who exist anymore?

So thank you very much for your help.

If the clerk was referring to the cost of the software cloud compared to the cost of software perpetually licensed (CS6), then the clerk was misinformed and you gave bad advice.

Cloud (CC) creative and Creative Suite (discs in box) are sold in different ways.

Cloud software is subscription only. You never admit it. You pay a monthly fee for as long you want to use.

Creative Suite is perpetually licensed software: pay once, always clean.

That is right.

Yes, you can always buy from CS6 perpetually licensed software from Adobe

Creative Suite 6

CS6 is 3 years and more and that it is is more updated. Adobe sells to those who want Adobe software but do not want a cloud membership.
