• Unable to align captions text and smart forms with variables

  Hi all

  I love the idea of using active forms as buttons.  I use them as general navigation buttons.  They are all lined up well above the background image:

  

  My problem is when I add the placeholders for the intelligent forms (or captions) variables:

  

  No matter how set up the coordinates x, y, height, width and alignment, the objects using variables will not match upward with the other.  Note that "page 1 of 12" mislaigned, despite the object itself is lined up with the other three objects.

  

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Indeed, I forgot to mention that this is not because of the shape, but on the fact that the text is rendered differently when a variable is inserted. I'm sorry.

  First of all, you must dial by using HTML format.

  Go to Tools | Account settings| {Select account} | Composition & addressing and make sure that "Compose messages in HTML format" are checked.

  Second, you need the toolbar is enabled.

  In the composition window, view | Toolbars and make sure that "Formattng Bar" is checked.

  I am building my first site (resonsive) and confronted this problem. I have a widget (image cursor) on the webpage (maximum width of 1232) very similar to the "desktop" mode off the coast of 50% (half the width page), but when I reduce the size of the screen in mode 'mobile' (480px) it reduces to 50% size (image smooshed). When I put the widget "desktop mode" 100% in my fluid grid 50% div (image slider) is too big, but when I shrink the screen to mode 'mobile' (480 px), it looks and works very well. Perfect 100% for mobile, but the big ones for desktop computer. I think I might have to attach a separate CSS file or a rule for action, but don't know not what/how to do. Hope that this will make some kind of sense. Help, please. Thank you in advance.

• Alignment of label and SimpleTextField

  Hi all

  Is there a built-in method to align all labels and values as the ObjectList control done automatically on 4.6? In other words, the label is left justified, but the field is right justified.  I find that given the difference between the field and its entry - while poor design of a full application size, it gives a much more aerodynamic look on a small screen.

  This is the default alignment:

  First Label: FirstFieldSecond Label: SecondFieldThird Label: ThirdField

  The label is left-aligned, while the field is right-aligned and right-justified.

  I tried a simple solution by a LabelField (FIELD_LEFT) and a SimpleTextField (FIELD_RIGHT) to a HorizontalFieldManager, but the two fields are always to the left without the space between the two. My other thought is to extend FieldManager to explicitly place the fields - giving etiquette, the minimum size and maximum width SimpleTextField possible - but I still need to justify the text in this area which I was not able to make the right successfully.

  Alternatively and perhaps better to give a consistent experience across devices with larger screens, would be the alignment as

             First Label: FirstField          Second Label: SecondField           Third Label: ThirdField
  

  It's the label fields are right justified in the field wider label. and value fields are justified to the left in the same field.

  Ideas/suggestions? I'd appreciate also your comments on whether it's worth the practice - is acceptable default alignment for you?  Your users seems acceptable/usable without any major problems?  As to the incompatibility between the alignment of text and labels, vs objectlistfields fields (this is what bothers me the most..)?

  Use Format, fonts to switch to a font to spacing constant and not a police proportional spaced . Courier New is a good choice for this.

  However, if you relied on custom tab stops and a rule to align the text and number, this ability in unavailable in Notepad.

  I have a few form fields that may have contained long, but have an introductory text. I would like that the entered content to wrap around this text, as shown in the image below:

  

  The content is updated automatically, not entered by someone, so what allows Rich Text and defining the formatting in the input block are not an option. I see two possibilities for this:

  1. A unique field that has a hanging indent on the first line that's enough to avoid the introductory text;
  2. Two separate fields configured so that the text overflows from one to the other.

  I was not able to understand how to do either of those. In this case, I see the additional ability to adjust the left edge of a multiline field for being to the right of the introductory text, but I have other scenarios where this text is well more than half of the line, in this case the solution is not feasible.

  As you found, there is no possible negative indent and substantive alignment is available with fields that allow rich text formatting. A new conception of form layout that works with the limits of the text fields is how I would approach it, but I know that's not always possible.

  Your first screenshot shows the layer style dialog where not all types of effects are indicated on the left. Bottom left of the dialog box, you see a small icon fx with a menu arrow drop-down. Use drop down the menu and make sure all you click on show all effects or restore the default list. I don't know what you're trying the shoe on the second screen capture.
