By pressing the delete button puts the Vista computer to sleep

Original title: Remove button puts computer sleep

When I push the button Delete on my computer, it puts the computer to sleep.  How can I change this?   I have a Windows Vista program.

Hello

1 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

2 does the problem occur when you connect the keyboard to a different computer?

3. What is brand and model keyboard?

Sorry to hear that.

Third, the drivers and settings programs can cause the computer to turn out to fall asleep when you press the delete key.

I suggest you to reference methods listed below:

Method 1: Safe Mode and clean boot

Check if the problem persists in safe mode. If the problem persists not in safe mode and check if the problem persists in the boot.

Step 1: Safe Mode

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

See the site:

Start your computer in safe mode

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Note: Wireless keyboard does not work in safe mode. If the keyboard is wireless, then skip to step 2.

Step 2: Clean boot

Check out the link:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: once you are done with the boot, follow step 7 article to set your computer to normal startup.

Note: If in case you are connected through a wireless connection and then when you start the System Configuration utility to perform the clean boot, click Startup and Services tab one time and check see topic wireless are turned on (Enabled).

Method 2: Update the drivers

See the site:

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Method 3: Change the power management

Restore the default balanced power management plan.

See the site:

Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme)

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-create-or-delete-a-power-plan-scheme

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, return and I will be happy to help you.

    Hello

Uninstall any software antivirus and then check to see if you can access the Vista computer again.

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software.
If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Cannot activate the Vista computer.

Original title: a worker injured several human rights violated; can not get the activation of Vista SP2... are there others in a similar situation? Help?

    R.A.

    July 7, 2014

For all those who have the ability to help:

first: vista dell licensed (1420 Inpiron laptop was invaded changed password and now NOT usable).

Next: friend graciously made donation to the worker injured a HP Pavilion desktop computer.

    Third: injured worker does NOT receive the commercial companies involved buy analgesic, nothing else, resulting in the need to beg for all the living expenses of family and friends;

Finally: the injured worker has spent two full days on the phone to get an activation code for Windows Vista to use it on the HP because the Dell is "broken".  Dell would not give same registration for each call numbers, but he said that it should NOT be a problem if the software is used on only one computer and nothing else.  This is true.

Microsoft says Vista software is licensed to Dell, talk to Dell, again without registration number given by Microsoft for every forwarded call looking for a usable activation.

Due to the urgent need for activation of vista on HP is the injured worker needs recognition and has great difficulty in using the Microsoft speech recognition and more than 15 years back was able to buy the Dragon Speech Pro 10, without money to upgrade, is desperately request passion to give the activation of the HP computer.

Legal history of Dell is horrible and shows no compassion for all human rights and Microsoft 'pass the ball '.  This commercial practice does not and should not accept this treatment as a society.

This business practice is the standard used by all commercial businesses.

I need you to help change this current trend!

    R.A.

You cannot use an activation code from Dell on a HP computer.  It is against the rules of license and illegal in most jurisdictions to work around.

If your HP needs a code or an operating system, you need to talk to HP. They are the ones which were built.  Dell of course will not help you on another computer.

Be an injured worker does not change the situation, I'm afraid.

  • When I put my Vista laptop to sleep (or hybrid sleep), it turns off the hard disk completely?

The reason why I ask, is that if the hard drive is completely off then I'd feel sure put my laptop in its case and then walk with it (possibility of jerking around as if he were completely off), but if the hard disk is still spinning and then I don't want to treat it as if the computer is running.

essentially, this question is not whether my information is stored in memory or on the hard drive, what power I am saving, etc..  I just want to know, standby or hybrid sleep in windows vista on a portable computer, the hard drive always turns?

The hard drive (and monitor) turn off during the sleep or hibernation mode.  The only thing is that some things can take the system into "sleep" or hibernation mode (some connectios network can do if configured to do so) how the hard drive and maybe the monitor turns on.  If you pay attention to set up your power options and network options, this should not be a problem for you.  Here's a great article on the problems of Power Options and Sleep Mode so that you can check to make sure that you have none of the problems listed and can be corrected if you: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63567-power-options-sleep-mode-problems.html.  I suggest you carefully read this article if you intend to be rude with your laptop, because you consider the closed disc.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

    1. what type of connection you have between the computer and the Xbox, it's a cable or a wireless connection?

    b. turn off media to find that others share and share my media to check boxes, and then click OK.

  • Files on a share network stuck as 'read only' to put the computer to sleep.

By necessity, I use my 98 computer windows that the file server since tempting to access any shares of Vista will cause Windows 9 X to crash. It is already used as a print from the Vista computer server does not have a parallel port.

I worked on a Microsoft Word document and subject to frequent interruptions. When I put the computer to sleep before walking away from the keyboard, it isn't properly disconnect the Win98 system. Wake up to the computer, I am unable to save office documents, because they are locked for editing.

In addition, sometimes even after I close Word or Excel, the system is not disconnected. Even when I stopped all other computers, the Win98 system reports that there are still users connected to the system when I go to stop him so. Is it possible to force the Vista computer to disconnect all network connections before you put it to sleep or stopping then the Win98 system recognizes that no one is online and that all the files will be closed?

I really don't want to have to close a document that I am in the middle of working on when I have to walk away from the keyboard, but this seems the only solution to the problem. Leaving open is the main reason that I put the computer to sleep rather than stop it. Recording locally is not really a good option because I want files stored in one place, and Vista Home Premium does not support synchronized folders.

Any suggestions? I already use the Briefcase feature to save documents on a flash drive, do I have to use the drive in question and transfer it to the server through network disks? This seems to beat the goal of a network.

The affected systems are Windows 98 Second edition and Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium =.

    Hello

Win 98 is a former client OS, server to call (or any other OS cleint) is nice, but this does not mean that they can be found on a peer-to-peer network and behave like a real server.

Under this situation (using Win 98 for a server) it is not advisable to change the files over the network. First copy them to the Vista Edit computer and then synchronize. Return using one of the many free synchronization applications that work on most of the windows releases.

    Example, http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Allway_Sync/allwaysync.html

There is no judgment of network functionality, if the Application is enabled and go to sleep while a file is open on Win 98 it will stay open. Closing the file needs to be done by the application.

I have a newer computer with 4 GB of ram and a dual core cpu. I am running Vista and you have two computers that are connected to a router. The other two computers get high-speed internet, but the Vista computer gets half of what gives me my ISP. I have a connection of optical fiber with download 40Mbps. speed I 39Mbps on two XP systems but the Vista I get 17-20Mbps.

I scanned for viruses and the computer is clean, I updated the drivers ethernet, the firmware on the router and I changed the connection cables. Nothing has helped to increase the speed or performance. Any ideas? Help, please!

    Thanks for the replies!

I already tried all the foregoing, but yesterday, I found two culprits. 1 I have updated to SP2 for Vista and my speedtest went up to 25/40Mbps, but the main culprit was Norton 360... Even though I disabled the program (Firewall/AV) I looked again in the application and noticed that garbage online backup, they've added was technically on but set to "manual". After you completely disable the full online backup feature, I did another test of speed through my ISP and got 39.7Mbps!
I am happy again! Thanks again for the help.
