Unable to start the Vista computer, constantly shutting down once again

I have to keep hitting the power button to the screen only lights so that it turns off again, again and again and more... It makes me crazy... It's a repair job shop or something I am doing wrong with a bad implementation... Thanks for any help... Ed McKenna

Hello

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

Use Ubuntu Live CD to backup files from your Windows computer dead
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/use-Ubuntu-Live-CD-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-Windows-computer

--------------------------------------------------------------

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide
field efforts.

Here's a video of one of them.

Here's another fix
http://blogs.PCMag.com/SecurityWatch/2008/12/the_mysterious_black_screen_of.php

You have a Vista disk? You can try restoring the system to it. If you don't have the disks your
system manufacturer will sell them at low prices. Or try in safe mode if you can get there.

How to make a Vista system restore

You can create a recovery disc or use someone even version (making the system restore it)
must be bootable).

------------------------------------------------

These require the correct Vista discs since you can not start safe mode.

Try the Startup Repair tool-

If necessary and you can access all ordinary Windows.

You can try an In-Place Upgrade (hopefully save programs and data) or a repair installation
(if all goes well, the data records and need to reinstall programs). Be sure to do a good backup or three.

You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key.

On-site upgrade
http://vistasupport.MVPs.org/repair_a_vista_installation_using_the_upgrade_option_of_the_vista_dvd.htm

If nothing works, you can make a repair facility that must save the data but you will need to
Reinstall the programs. This also requires correct Vista disks especially for OEM versions. You will be
need to know your product Code.

Another method that works sometimes: at the command prompt, type of Vista startup disk:
(a line type or copy and paste one line at a time and hit enter - enter a bracket)
or "BOLD")

cd\

CD c:\Windows\System32\winevt (there is a space between cd and C :)

Ren LogsOLD Logs (there are spaces between ren and newspapers and Logsold)

RESTART Windows

I hope this helps.

I work with the Director 12, Windows 7. A fatal error occurred during my attempt to chance the script police. Now this fatal error occurred whenever I start the Director. I shut down the system and tried again, even failure.

  • Unable to start the virtual computer after restoring the backup

    Hello

I have a very big problem! I have a Machine virtual Windows Server 2003 on a Mac Mini with Mac OS 10.6.8 2009 Sever Server and VMWare Fusion 4.1.1 and I had a record of crash! A backup is performed daily and I take snapshots of security risk.

I changed the faulty HARD drive and restore "Mac Data. Now I want to restore my data from VM, but after that, I can't throw my VM. I have this error message: "Unable to get information on snapshots, lock down." (French translation, it can differ from original English message).

I get on the internet and found that you must delete the snapshots and try again, but when I do this, I have this error message: "the VM seems to be used. The same thing when I want to create a new capture instant.

I'm stuck and I have to solve that before Monday...

Thanks in advance for the help.

With the merger closed, open the package of vmwarevm of the VM (CTRL-click) and delete all the files and folders with a .lck extension. These files are used to lock the files logically and very probably contain stale data.

BTW. do you really need > 20 shots? Too many clichés can slow down the virtual machine significantly.

  • Updates Windows 7 has won 13 59 while finalizing the upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista. I shut down the computer?

Updates Windows 7 has won 13 59 while finalizing the upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista.  I shut down the computer?

Yes. Close and restart, the updates will catch up.

  • Updates the window appear when shutting down, but do not set up the next time you start

The display shows 15 updates of Windows are loaded (installed?) when the machine is stopped.  To restart Windows, the screen indicates "wait" while the updates are being configured.  The icon indicates that the configuration is current, but the screen always said that "0% are completed.  Then, after a few minutes, the screen indicates something as "installation failed; Revenant.  After the message 'return', the machine moves to the usual Windows 7 start page and asking to connect you as usual (which allows me to work on the machine).   So, the next time I shut down Windows, the screen indicates that the installation of several updates continues and is completed in series.  Then, the next time I turn on the machine it asks to wait while updates are configured;  and finally, it "fails to complete the configuration" and "resets" as described above.  What happened several times in the last two days.  What should I do to get this resolved failure?

    Hi BonnieDoon,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. you receive error message during the update by installing the process?

    Method 2

Restart the computer after you follow the steps above and check if the problem persists, if the problem persists then checks the update is not being properly installed on the computer and then install it manually.

View update history to know which update is not installing.

    (a) open Windows Update by clicking Start , all programsand then click Windows Update.

    (c) to view more information about an update, double-click it.

Once you know the update's KB number then visit the Microsoft Download and put the number in the search box, download and install the update manually.

  • When the Active Server is shut down normally, the passive server does not start the service

    Hi friends,

I have a question for the vCenter heartbeat,

When the Active Server is shut down normally, the passive server does not start the service.

    Is this normal?

    Thank you.

He starts the services on the passive server because the correct judgment still leaves the server active as being the "main".

Stop all services of it properly. And after it comes back online replication starts as before, so that no service must be started on both servers. (in this case that you will have questions)

Please note that on a server computer, you have 2 possibilities to "stopping down": the BONE and the option of status and control of the server Vcenter Heartbeat

The laptop needs more start the Vista because there are many processes that load in the background.

If you want you could disable some processes in MSCONFIG-> Startup tab

In addition, you must update the Tempro tool.
But to be honest I would like to disable this tool too because it of not really necessary.
It informs you about the new updates on the Toshiba page.

  • XP computer does not access the Vista computer on the home network.

I have a three home computers I'm trying to set up using two with XP - Pro (all updates including SP3 installed) and a third with Vista Home Premium (SP2 installed, all the updates that are installed to date). The two XP machines can connect (access) between them, but they cannot access the Vista machine. The Vista Machine can access the two XP machines. I've tried every tip/trick that I can find so far and nothing. Ping on each pc test, uninstalled the Norton firewall, permisions changed part to the best of my knowledge on all PCs, I am the owner of the computer and to assume with a single account on Vista I have right to full ownership, contacted the manufacturer of routers (performed an upgrade), but nothing is allowing access to the Visat pc.  When you view the network connections on the XP machines, Vista is listed, I can click to open and see the folders to share, but when I try to open a file I get the error\\xxx\xx is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact. admin of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied.

It's funny that I can find other users to comment on other forums that they are experincing the opposite scenrio with access denied on XP machines... Thanks in advance for any help...

    Hello

Uninstall any software antivirus and then check to see if you can access the Vista computer again.

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software.
If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Unable to start the virtual machine after restoration

Guests including Test host: ESXi 5.1.0.1065491

    Vm problem: 32-bit, Server 2003

I use Veeam Backup & Restore 6.5 to back up my vm.  I always do a test restore to ensure that my backups are good.  I'm having a problem with a restore.  The 32-bit Server 2003 vm starts just fine on the main host it runs on.  All the vm are 64-bit except for one who is a 32-bit Server 2003 vm.  Restoring the machine virtual and implemented on a host except the 32-Bit vm Server 2003 test.  After restoration and trying power to the top, I get the following error:

Unable to start the virtual machine.

Turn on VPCM module has failed.

Viewed performance counters require version 3 or greater of architectural performance monitoring.

Anyone know if there is a fix for this problem?

    TIA,

    Mux

I assume you are using different hardware (CPUs, the BIOS settings) for VMS restored!

The virtual machine has VPCM enabled, which causes the problem. You can either disable it in vSphere Web Client (you can do this in the vSphere Client Windows), or directly modify the .vmx VM by setting vpmc.enable to "FALSE".

For how toggle this setting in the Web Client see allow virtual in the Web Client vSphere CPU Performance counters. If you want to edit the .vmx file manually, you need to delete/re-add the VM from the inventory or recharge (see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1026043)
