  • HP 6120 t BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller

    Hello

HP 6120 t (vista) BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller. The other SATA disk and the DVD player came with the machine.

I hooked my old 200 GB Hitachi drive via the controller. I also put the jumbers in the present as a slave. I also took the original WD drive and just connect the IDE hard drive. BIOS do not show any drive at all.

I would try something possible at this time I have a lot of my data on the old disk.

    Thanks appreciate any suggestion.

Try to enter the BIOS and I believe under change of Advanced menu of SATA to IDE or Enhanced.

You need to do when you install Windows XP or you will get a blue screen and it does not start.

Don't forget chang back when you put it in your drive home hard sata.

  • Win 7 IDE SATA drives indicated as ejection

Hi - I have a Gigabyte H61M mobo with CPU Intel Core I5-2400 and two hard drives from Western Digital WD5000AZRX-00A8LB0.

Boredom is that readers will always appear in the tool ' safely remove hardware and eject Media.  Several messages say it's normal for the AHCI SATA disks, but mine seem to be IDE SATA: in Device Manager > properties > details > hardware ID they list as:

    • IDE\DiskWDC_WD5000AZRX - 00A8LB0___01.01 A 01
    • IDE\WDC_WD5000AZRX - 00A8LB0___01.01 A 01

This post gives a registry hack to deal with drives as internal ports, but at the moment I'm confused - are all SATA drives that are considered "ejection"?

    Gordon.

I have a second computer that shows that also removable SATA drives and Yes, it would be quite easy to accidentally delete the wrong drive. That said, installation of 'remove' will not be released a disc which he sees as "in use", so it is more difficult to make the error that inclusion in the list 'remove' may suggest it...

  • SSD adapter Kit

Looking for one ssd for HP Pavilion model HPE H8 1320 T adapter kit.  Any Suggestions?

You can get something like this

    http://www.Amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-3-5-inch-converter-SDP08/DP/B002BH3Z8E/ref=sr_1_7?s=PC&ie=UTF8&QID=1412099486&SR=1-7&k eywords = 2.5 + to + 3.5 + tray

There are many others, I just took that as a result of a search on amazon for "tray from 2.5 to 3.5"

Newegg also has a lot of success on this same search.  Choose one that looks like smoothly with your existing platters of the drive Bay.

I made myself not too long ago, but I have mine picked up at the brick and mortar computer specialty store pay about $10.00.  In line would have been cheaper, but I was there, he had, and he didn't wait.

  • No access to the personal files of Windows 7 to the disc format hard using a new computer that connects with a USB 2.0 cable to SATA/IDE in Windows 8

I have a HDD that has been removed from a computer that does not work and I try to access my files staff on it. When the drive is connected, it appears as two items in Explorer: 'system Reserved (f)' and 'disk space (g) '. This drive has been connected to my new computer using a USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE cable.

I can see all the program files and public folders in the path (g), but not one of my staff, including music, documents, photos, etc.. The path (f) does not seem to access anything whatsoever.

My new computer using Windows 8, the hard drive, I'm trying to access Windows 7.

This seems to be a security problem, that I have no idea on how to fix. I tried enabling 'total control' in the tab 'security' in the properties, what has not changed the situation.

All solutions/advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi David,

    1. What is the brand and model of the hard drive?

    2. do you get an error message/code?

3 have you tried to connect the hard drive to a different USB port?

4 have you tried the search for files by using the search function?

This problem may be caused by the virus or files might be hidden.

    Method 1:

Scan the hard drive for viruses:

    Reference:

    Microsoft safety scanner

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:

    Follow these steps and check:

    a. press the Windows key + X

    b. Select Control Panel and folder options.

    c. in the view tab, select Show hidden files, folders and disks and click on apply and then OK.

    d. check if you can see the files on the hard drive.

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, you can write to us and we will be happy to help you further.

  • VS IDE SATA

I recently bought pregnant double hd usb to sata and 250 and 500 GB drives for it. I'm under win 7 on an old pc from dell ide. Plugged in usb and windows drivers installed, okay, but wouldn't show it to readers in 'my computer '. The said readers were not initialized. Can someone help with this problem?

    [Moved from comments]

Please, check (Control Panel) Device Manager.

To see how much USB controllers there.

You need for each USB port that has your computer.

This, of course, INCLUDES "extra ones" IF you have an internal USB adapter card in your compputer

. (If you have 4 slots/ports USB, there should be 4 controllers USB w / 1 Host controller, you have 6 untis there should be 6 w / 1 controller.)

They are all should work, w / power.

You may need to install controllers USB (the approach of adding new hardware) IF you have not enough... to match the physical presence of the USB ports.

I have 8, 2 in the front, 4 at bacn Panel, 2 on a map.

When connecting USB, do it BEFORE you start computer so that when it starts, the operating system (OS) Gets a chance to find, RECOGNIZE them, and then adds in my computer.

Now, you have to FORMAT each of hard drives, in turn, through the tools of Directors porgram.

In this process, you CONFIRM their NAME.

They become initialized and updated in the same process,

Now you should find them... .in workstation like hard drives you have formatted as.

Whenever you DISENGAGE them from your computer, that they DISAPPEAR from my computer, and NOT re - appear when you RE-CONNECT again.

Of course, they will show as 'connected' in device... Manager with usb controllers.

Evidence that they are connected and usable.

  • Pavilion a705w: PATA DVD-Combo failed; PCI SATA Adapter freezes reboot.

    Howdy, y ' All,.

I went looking for a replacement optical drive DVD PATA, but local retailers no longer wear them. We had a spare SATA DVD optical drive, so I bought an adapter PCI Sabrent SBT-SRD4 (Silicon Image SiI3114 RAID ASIC) to adapt the SATA optical drive to the motherboard. After the careful installation of the RAID adapter and cables, the BIOS would not restart, and the system froze. Bike only the power switch would be to restart the system. Even with the SATA cables disconnected, there was no improvement.

Latest version of the mobo BIOS is installed: 3.26. On the Amazon site, there were several notes on firmware updates of Silicon Image, but it's a loophole?

Thank you very much for your help.

    A.

I do not think that the Sabrent SBT-SRD4 (Silicon Image SiI3114 ASIC RAID) PCI will work with a CD/DVD drive even if it was not locking up the system. Check out this set of IDE/PATA CD/DVD discs on Amazon that are always available for purchase.

    Please send Bravo

  • mini sata adapter

    Hello

someone at sony has had the brilliant idea to turn 90 degrees to portable hard drive sata connectors on model svt131b11l

This means that there is no single standard ssd or hard drive using the sata connection can actually connect to it.

The solution is quite simple, to get a mini sata connector that allows to rotate 90 degrees.

    Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Micro-SATA-Cables-Female-Adapter/dp/ * 4KL8Z6/ref = sr_1_21? s = electronics & ie =...

but this one is too high, so I wouldn't be able to close the laptop after installation.

Anyone know where we can find an adapter with a lot less in height?

PS. Thanks sony for making it so hard on clients. I literally spent 2 days looking for an adapter and your online support has been as useful as your physical store: zero. Your answer: If you want a hard drive, pay us double the price a regular and we install for you while you stay without a laptop for a few days. Thank you very much! (facepalm)

    Thank you...

now, the second problem, I searched on sony and everything on the internet is not available in one store (not sony), so basically it's like looking for unicorns... right now I'm starting to think that I just lost about $1,000 on a laptop I will never be able to improve its hard drive.

I should have listened to on vaio complains

1 more week or I will come back just that, I don't understand why any manufacturer of the laptop makes it so hard to upgrade these days. He almost kills Apple and now that you ONLY have this advantage you won't take it!

  • Satellite L40 - changing RAID SATA to IDE SATA

    Hello

I tried to change the option on my SATA RAID bios (that I think I have by default) to SATA IDE, but when I go into my bios, I find no option to change this aspect.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L40 and only Linux UBUNTU 8.10 installed on my computer. I saw messages in the other Foruns where I told me to update my bios but I don't know how to do it under Ubuntu.

Can someone help me with this solution OR give me better to change that?
    Thank you

As far as I know, this option does not exist and update of the BIOS will not help at all. The BIOS update does not any additional installation.
BIOS update is only possible under Windows.

Can you please tell me why you want to change this option?
