  • Cq42-268tx (paging of kernel data error)

    Hello

I got this error two weeks there (paging of kernel data error).  I found a similar problem "solved" posted in the forum, but I think mine is different.  The parameters given after the "STOP: 0x0000007A (parameters) are different so I think it could be worse."

For the last three days, this error frequently occurs five minutes after startup. I did a few tests of memory and it seemed fine, but the hard drive test is always stopped at 56%.  I tried the test twice more and still give the same results.

What could be the problem? Hard drive? memory? virus? (im sorry not a tech guy).

BTW, my Compaq laptop is 2.5 years.

    Thank you in advance.

    See you soon!

    Hello

There are opportunities, it could be the hard drive itself. If the HARD drive test is not complete, then try to run extensive testing as shown in the link below:

Screening of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista)

If you have all of the options presented in the above link, then you may need to install the latest UEFI Diagnostics on the Site of HP Support under diagnosis. (Select your windows version 64 bit or 32 bit).

If he continues to do the same thing then most likely the HARD drive needs to be replaced

  • Istalling problem, data error games

Can anyone help please? I can't reinstall some of my games in my computer. I was able to install Far Cry and Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell, but I can't install Medal of honor, Call of Duty, Delta Force, Splinter Cell Pandora to name them. They will try and install, but they seem all to stop on a certain file. I have listed below details of file when the error message occurs.

    Call of duty: install 38% then C:\... \\main\PAK. PK3

Star Wars: Inxtall to 45% and then C:\...\gamedata\base\assets0.pk3

Medal of honor Allied Assult: C:\Programmefiles\EAGames\MOHHAA\main\PAK2.pk3

    Splinter Cell "Pandora Tomorrow" C:\UbiSoft\SplinterCell\Videos\2_2_1

Delta Force 'Black Hawk Down'. Code of C:\ProgrammeFiles\novalogic\DeltaForceBHD\recourse\error 117.

With each failure, I also receive an error as follow:

    The component: minimum data files

    Filegroup: minimum data files

    File: D:\Data2.cab

ERROR: Data error (cyclic redudundancy check)

You may notice that all installation failures, it always says "pk.3".

I would appreciate some help... anyone.

    Kind regards

    John

PS. you forgot to say that the problem comes from my desktop running Windows XP Home Edition. I go back to factory settings to see if I could cure the problem but, nothing works.

A quick google (assuming that D: is your CD/DVD drive) the most likely cause appears to be dirty scratched disks.

Read some of them for something in until an expert MS suggest something :-) -google search

    Things to check:

1 are the discs in good condition, all parts clean and free? If this is not the case, try to clean gently, taking care to not damage or scratch that them more in the process.

2 I guess its possible that your drive may be about to fail. you have another drive(maybe external drive) to try?, or maybe try one of these CD/DVD lens cleaning products and see if that helps.

  • Message error when you install a game 'Assistant instalation "_" a support of instalation file not would be installed data error (cyclic redundancy check)

    It's the exact message

"A support of instalation file cannot be installed
    Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

This simply means that your CD/DVD media for the installation of your game is corrupted or cannot be read, extract for all the cracks, scratches on your support.

If it is in perfect condition, better clean the lens of your CD/DVD-Rom drive with a cleaning kit, as the lens of the drive could have been contaminated by dirt.

    Hi James,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Of the above show you get error code 0 x 80070020 when you try to install Windows updates.

What is the accurate and complete error message you get?

This problem can occur if a program interferes with the automatic update process. For example, using the real-time scanning antivirus programs may interfere with the automatic update process.

  • erestore fails on my Aspire 5733Z with a data error

I bought the Acer erestore media, and when I went to restore, I get the error "restore failed - error code = 0 x 17(Data error (cyclic redundancy check).)" on drive recovery 2/3. Following the Advisor in this thread, I tried to copy the CD to an ISO on another computer using InfraRecorder. He noted a lot of read errors which he could correct after attempts up to 108, followed a read error that it could not recover from. (I tried recovery 3 3 which reads very well, so it is probably just disc 2)

I would like to restore this computer, and I have a strong preference for not buying restore discs more (there seems to be a significant number of drives with media errors, based on reports in this forum).

What are my options? Can someone from Acer help?  I did all of this successfully on a (non-portables) another Acer, I had and it worked very well, but I seem to have lack of rope on this machine.

    Help?

I agree with JackE - try rubbing alcohol or a special DVD/CD cleaner.

A "cyclic redundancy check" basically means that he cannot read data, so if the cleaning is no help, then contact technical support & explain. They should send a replacement FOC drive

    Hello

I have windows XP media center edition 2005 and are unable to install 2 mass effect. After some installation, it says: failed installation. A data error occurred.  It is supposed to be windows 7 compatible. I tried running the compatibility problems, but the same thing happens. Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hello

    Try the methods below:

    Method 1:

Try to copy the contents of the CD to your hard drive to check if your CD has gone wrong.

    Method 2:

Try to install the application with administrator privileges and check for the issue.

If you always fall on the issue, you can view the query in the mass effect Community Forum:

  • Task Scheduler could not start. Additional data: error value: 2147943726. What does that mean?

A scheduled task could not start leaving this message: Task Scheduler could not start '\Fence check Rota' task for the user "Alan Laptop\Alan". Additional data: error value: 2147943726.

The task ran on the previous 2 nights without problem Action is: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Excel.exe" / r "C:\Users\Alan\Documents\HSC\Fence Check\Fence check Auto Run.xlsm" and there is nothing wrong with it all the files are where they are supposed to be.

After "the event log online Help" takes me to a page that tells me to convert the code above in a decimal value and search for it on another page. This has error codes in the 0 to 15999 slices. The value I have to 214793726 is obviuosly not an Octal value because it contains the 9 digit and if a decimal value is greater than 15999 and if hexagonal then considerably higher.

Can someone tell me what is a failure?

My answer comes late, but I hope useful for those seeking a response.

As some have said above, changing the password has a role at the origin of this error. \

quickist fix (instead of changing long ms.config of microsoft) is:

in Task Scheduler, click the scheduled task properties > then settings

    in the last option listed:

"If the task is already running, the following rule shall:

Select "stop the existing instance" in the drop-down list.

    Save and exist.

    This should fix it.

  • Data error when trying to backup files on external hard drive

Hello. I am unable to back up files from my Dell Studio desktop on an external hard drive.  Previous backups were successful, but now I get "data error (cyclic redundancy check check 80070017).»  I checked the disk, and there is no disk problem.  I have gone through other assignments, and none seems to answer this question.

    Hi Bill1959,

Welcome to Windows Vista answers Forums!

Step 1: First of all try to temporarily disable the Antivirus and security software and check.

Step 2:  Try to run a checkdisk/r to repair bad sectors by following the steps mentioned below.

You can run a Checkdisk/r to repair problems related to bad sectors, lost clusters, reticulate files and directory of the command prompt errors in the System Recovery Options menu using the Installation of Vista disc.

    1. Insert the installation disc.

    2. restart your computer.

    3. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click restart. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.

    4. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    5. click on repair your computer.

    6. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt.

    8. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER

    chkdsk X: /r (drive letter)

    9. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    10. close all applications, and then restart the computer.

Note: When you run the checkdisk, there are risks of data loss you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • I get an error code 0 x 80070017 data error cyclic redundancy when you save.

Original title: Trouble when backup Vista basic

During the backup, I get this message... Verification of data error: 0 x 80070017 cyclic redunancy. The backup fails. Any advice? Thank you...

    Hi Arctical,

    ·         When you save the backup?

    ·         Has it worked fine previously?

This error occurs if the hard disk has errors on this subject.

I suggest that you run a check disk on drive c and then try the backup.

You can help solve some computer problems and improve the performance of your computer by making sure that your hard disk has no errors.

    a. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    b. click the hard disk you want to check, and then click Properties.

    c. click on the Tools tab and then, under error-checking, click check now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that detects the scanning, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    d. click Start.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.

I installed it now mainly music programs of this pile of disc of times with no probs, I get the error message "data error (cyclic redundancy check)" on all the programs on this disc, when I put the disc in the drive of my pc seems to be a bit slower than normal too. one of the programs is fruityloops 8, if I click on install, but click on fruityloops 8 engine I get ' ZipMsgXX.res is probably not related to the executable string ID missing is 11036' as I have 6 fruity, I thought that it could install using Installer 6 fruity but it wont... someone help...

    Hi shaunrollett,

Control of cyclic redundancy or CRC errors, usually occur when copying data to a CD or DVD. The error may indicate a bad block, a damaged disc or a hardware problem.

You can check whether or not the CD works in another computer.

You can try to run the Fixit mentioned in the link below and check if it helps to reolve the question:

  • Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

    Hello

I have an external backup drive.  I wasn't able to make the backup now that it returns errors.

I guessed it was a video folder and the files that I copied recently and he was causing. When I tried to remove it, it displays an error that is not able to read the source. Tried to remove the folder using 'rmdir' at the command prompt. Cannot delete with errors "data error (cyclic redundancy check)".

Ran a chkdsk on the volume, but still freezes at 2%...

No way to delete the folder? Or if I reformat the drive, it will help?

    Thank you in advance.

If you get CRC and fails the CHKDSK I strongly suspect that you have a failing hard drive.  Go to the preparer of HD and download and execute their verification utility HD
