C7100 series: color C7100 issue

My C7100 has been great and is very rarely used. Never had any problems, until recently I tried to print a photo and the colors went out of way. Printed a test diagnosed, and all out OK.

I tried to print tickets on the internet, and again the colors were completely. Basically, without red appears. The magenta cartridge was low, which has me well maybe it was empty and the printer read something incorrectly. Has ordered a new HP cartridge and installed, ran a new diagnostic page. Everything shows OK but the color bar that shows the magenta goes out looking for a very light purple color. It seems the magenta is not broadcast, but the diagnotics tell me it is that everything is OK.

There is no lines or bats white in printing, all the other quality seems good. I don't know what to say the numbers on diagnostic tests. Is it worth paying for a repair? Don't know where to go from here.

Hi @Dennis76,

According to the specifications of the printer, the duty cycle of the printers is up to 3000 pages per month. With the printer being rarely used, the cartridges and print heads might be clogged causing a little this problem.

It seems that this printer was manufactured in 2006. HP can offer you a discount toward a recovery on a replacement unit.

It's you if you want to try to replace or repair the printer or buy a new one. In the age of the printer I think a new printer would be your best route.

I often web elements page layout in InDesign that my composition tool, then copy and paste in Photoshop as a smart object to then generate optimized web images. It's just easier to use photoshop. Problem, it is in the latest versions of Adobe have clogged the engine of anti-aliasing and now when rasterising a PDF file or paste a picture also as a chip oppose any portion of the image of this asset is smoother. You don't really notice that if the image of origin placed in InDesign is say double or more this resolution of the web version of final product, the scale hides the issue. But if they are closer to really see faceting full size occurs. Long story... anyway, I decided to study the implementation overview of Apple as a gateway for the rasterising instead of photoshop. He did a good job on glued assets resampling, but on this point saving and checking in Photoshop, I note that Preview assigned Adobe RGB profile to the processed image. Even if I opened the InDesign PDF and export as image in my size. My color workflow is sRGB. InDesign and Photoshop are two parameters in this way, the image placed in InDesign also has sRGB profile, the PDF has sRGB profile. If I copy / paste between InDesign and Photoshop, they are both aware glued Trump space and warn me if different from that of the target document. I have no idea where Preview becomes Adobe RGB, I don't see its place in the app to change that as a preference, and in any case, it seems very strange to be a defect when most of the people would not use them.

In the preview, click on the tools bar menu point and scroll to the bottom of the drop-down list to assign the profile

the next submenu you can click on and select sRGB at the bottom of this list. To save this profile to your image,

do a "save under" (click on file, press the option/alt key Save As should appear). You can also test under the view menu bar item.

  • 79 Service error on Printer series color LaserJet Pro 200 M251

I use this printer with the operating system Mac OSX 10.9.4 for about 9 months.

Now, I get an error message from the Service 79. I tried to turn off the printer and the several times without success.

Curiously, when I try to print a document, a message keeps appearing on my computer that says "the printer has been suspended. You want to resume printing? "When I click on the button resume, nothing prints.

The manual States that the 79 Service error message is related to a firmware issue? Do you know how I can fix this problem?

    Thank you very much

    Hi NebraskaPierre,

By your post, I see that you have found a Service 79 error on the printer. I can help you.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

This can be caused by malformed PostScript documents.

    Follow these steps:

Locate the power switch on the bottom of the printer.
Turn the printer off position and COUNT to 10.
Turn on the printer and the system should be all together.

Try printing from another application to see if you have the same problem.

If a print job from your hand repeatedly causes this error, this may indicate a problem with the print job.

Try to split your document upward more before they print it.

  • PIXMA Pro 100 color space issues

    Hello

I have a few questions related to printing from lightroom, I'm new on this bare with me.

    (1) I have a canon 7 d I shoot in Raw 12-14 bit? and most of my treatment is done in lightroom, so no need to export to photoshop, however if I would be this export as 16-bit tiff or Jpeg? So, if I had to after post-processing in photoshop then back in lightroom, this would allow only me to print in tiff or jpeg format is correct as a psd/jpeg file?

    (2) given that I only edit in lightroom I can print directly in Raw CR2 format 12-14 bit using canon plugin pro printing studio? or is it exported to the translator as a 16-bit file? and then use the ICC profile that is (canon paper) for best results paper mill, I lose a quality of colour printing by printing from Raw 12-14 bits instead of 16-bit tiff/jpeg.

    (3) using the profiles of ICC paper mill, the original raw will deposit 12-14 bit sRGB 7Dcamera be translated to the printer default Lightroom or is the color space is not necessary because I have not converted to 16-bit in post processing?

    (3) I did not have my calibrated monitor yet but intend to do so in the future, but until then I'm not messing around with pro, photoRGB Pro or Adobe RGB or sRGB mode.

    (4) if I use lightrooms canon pro printing studio Player is the color space translated automatically the settings of my camera or do I have to activate it in lightroom first?.

    (5) I use a Mac running yosemite 10.10 and to learn more about ICC profiles where the factory ICC profiles download how and where to store can you recommend a joint Web site to learn how to do this on a mac?

    (6) as you can see I want to just print the best images from the camera to the printer without much science involved but I'm willing to learn, but get confused with the post-production of workspace different menu software for best results, that I'd do it prosume until I get my proffesionally calibrated monitor would print from Raw with the factory ICC profiles?

    7) color space and calibration of the parameters are all about what you have on the print screen or it is mainly for the depth of extra color to print?

I can calibrate my monitor on adobe RGB and have my camera shoot on adobe RGB-calibration with the software, but said I need correct color surveillance devices? If I were to do this and still just used paper ICC profiles the footprints would be better?

My first impressions were excellent, very similar to what I see on the screen in all cases but I checked the lightrooms settings and these are on Pro photo RGB for external editing and it of color space for printing pluggin also studio, or is it just native Raw sRGB if I change the settings it says I'll lose the color space maxium potential.

Sorry for the influx of questions :-)

Hahnemühle has an excellent explanation on downloading and adding profiles for PC and Mac

    http://www.Hahnemuehle.com/en/digital-FineArt/ICC-profiles/installing-profiles.html

Print Studio Pro is rather obscure on the use of profiles than those installed, but it's pretty simple.

In the area of setting printer settings choosing fine arts I or II (I used one and it seems to work)

Then in the color management box, use the pull down to find the right profile added.

  • Adobe CS4 color display issues

I use Windows 7 x 64 running CS4 with all Adobe updates. I don't remember when this problem started, but he used to look good, then one day decided to do not. This image is a side-by-side of the original image with the image which shows CS4. The image inside the CS4 is on the left. You can see that he has lost most of the color, making it virtually impossible to work with. If I use the eyedropper tool in CS4 to select a color in the image, it takes the appropriate color, as displayed in color in the attachment tab. Last and certainly the strangest, if I drag the window the image sits in CS4, it shows the color while being dragged, but as soon as I let go, the colors go all wobbly again.

I really need help with that.

You must set your display profile and possibly update your video card driver (you can test this by disabling the OpenGL drawing and reopen the case if suits him, then the cause is the display driver).

  • messy color management issues

I created a few illustrations of hundreds of Quilt to CMYK. The colors in the illustrations are approximate and there is no way around that. Illustration files have been created well before I knew that I have to do the color management.

My office is as neutral as I can get it, which shouldn't be too hard.   And it will have the desired ambient light. The book goes 4 x color press. The office of printing service provided me with the ICC profile for their press.

This is the first piece of the puzzle: the quilt is in Wisconsin, and I am in South Carolina. Thus, specific colors are a problem. I sent the author a book of fan of Pantone Coated 4 color Process and asked to match the colors of cloth with Pantone colors as much as she can then send me the CMYK values. The book will be printed on coated text papter. It seems logical that if I am using profiles right and using its CMYK values, we should get a reasonable color rendering. (Note that I didn't say "exact").

So the question #1: as a starting point, this approach has a sense for you?

Next piece of the puzzle: I will soon receive a photograph of the quilt in RGB (obviously). The photographer takes snapshots in Adobe RGB. This photo will be the only source of color information, I have, except a few samples of tissue from the quilt.

So question #2: if I convert to CMYK photo so it has the same color profile that the illustrations, if a color of the carpet seems like a match reasonalbe with the corresponding color in the illustration, can I rely on this information?

Regarding correction of color between red and green, ago more red and reddish brown than green, so the intention of encouraging the reds in the profile.

I'm probably too simplify these problems. But I'm in the ballpark?

    Thanks in advance.

    Toni,

Sorry for the delay: the ragworts kept luring me further and further away (others may have other excuses, or maybe wait silently, relying on my ansering as soon as I'm back in the cool of the farm, I hope not just waiting to go for we two).

I created a few illustrations of hundreds of Quilt to CMYK. The colors in the illustrations are approximate and there is no way around that. Illustration files have been created well before I knew that I have to do the color management. I assume you used a limited number of colors, matching fabrics, so you can change shades or use Select > same > fill color, no?

My office is as neutral as I can get it, which shouldn't be too hard.   And it will have the desired ambient light. The book goes 4 x color press. The office of printing service provided me with the ICC profile for their press.

(Note that I didn't say "exact").

So the question #1: as a starting point, this approach has a sense for you? It does: it's perhaps the best way, assuming that the book is based on the same standards of color than the ink used by the printer (the book in front of me is Euroscale). This means that the author is rather deeply involved in the management of the color, which can be a good thing (she knows more or less what is possible and what she gets).

I doubt: depends on the correctness of the colors in the picture (only the author can say, perhaps), and it's two-step, fabric > RGB > CMYK. You can use it as an additional reference.

Regarding correction of color between red and green, ago more red and reddish brown than green, so the intention of encouraging the reds in the profile. I think you should go for a good game in the Greens (and other colors), to have balanced and enjoyable work.

  • Match color of series for a table and a chart?

I created a table with 4 sets of data.  Then, I created a graphic line with this information.  I noticed that when I select the line graph the data in the table becomes highlighted with a lighter version of colors used in the chart.  Each series Gets a corresponding really nice color to match the graph.  As soon as you select any where else these colors disappear.

Is there a way to automatically match line chart series color color of the card?  If this isn't the case, I see this as the colors that appear in the table so that I can put in manually?

    Hi elweezo,

Reversing black and white using the interface of scanning your PIXMA MP495 only is not supported.  To invert the colors, the issue will have to be scanned and then reversed using software such as Adboe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro for image editing.

Are perhaps those colors in a document placed?

  • Posterlization/Banding Office of the colors displayed in the camera «D610» profiles

    Greetings,

I have several question of the color of the strips/posterlization the selection of camera calibration tab portrait profile camera LR.

My image is a D610 Nikon SLR RAW file and the color of the strips into shadow shows quite clearly when the zoom to 100%.

Surprisingly, all as Vivid, Neutral, Standard and Lancscape camera profiles are the same color of the strips. So I have no choice except using the Adobe Standard profile which I prefer not to due to my customer's requirement.

However, I also meet this same problem as well in RAW D700 file during post-processing in LR. But the problem can be solved easily by changing just the old profile of the camera to the new V4 version.

I use Lightroom 5.7.1 64-bit Macintosh. Is there anyone facing this problem like me? because most of my photos is photographed by D610 and this problem bothers me a lot.

Any suggestion given to me would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Here is what I see using the latest plugin cab 9, which was equivalent to the more recent treatment programs 6 LR and LR CC 2015, so a version of the problem still exists.  I'll pass this information and your sample NAVE along Adobe and hopefully they can fix in the next version, but if LR 5 can be fixed, I'm not sure.  Assuming that Adobe releases new profiles for the D610 with the next version of LR and ACR (6.2, 9.3) then you would hack things LR 5.7 installing the DNG Converter 9.3 (or whatever version a better profile) then copy into folder LR resources on top of the older profiles, or at least put in the library user profile location well if old and new profiles have the same name Maybe you couldn't access one you wanted.

    I have a CM2320nf on my network home and downloaded what I think is the most recent driver for Mac OS X (v1.5.0) but when I try to install it on my Mac OS system Sierra (10.12) I get the error;

When adding the printer don't forget to select the inside of the series Color LaserJet CM2320 MFP use the dropdown not PostSript ageneric driver.

As mentioned, only print and fax are supported, the scan is is longer supported on any Mac OS X later than Snow Leopard (10.6).
