PIXMA Pro 100 color space issues

Hello

I have a few questions related to printing from lightroom, I'm new on this bare with me.

(1) I have a canon 7 d I shoot in Raw 12-14 bit? and most of my treatment is done in lightroom, so no need to export to photoshop, however if I would be this export as 16-bit tiff or Jpeg? So, if I had to after post-processing in photoshop then back in lightroom, this would allow only me to print in tiff or jpeg format is correct as a psd/jpeg file?

(2) given that I only edit in lightroom I can print directly in Raw CR2 format 12-14 bit using canon plugin pro printing studio? or is it exported to the translator as a 16-bit file? and then use the ICC profile that is (canon paper) for best results paper mill, I lose a quality of colour printing by printing from Raw 12-14 bits instead of 16-bit tiff/jpeg.

(3) using the profiles of ICC paper mill, the original raw will deposit 12-14 bit sRGB 7Dcamera be translated to the printer default Lightroom or is the color space is not necessary because I have not converted to 16-bit in post processing?

(3) I did not have my calibrated monitor yet but intend to do so in the future, but until then I'm not messing around with pro, photoRGB Pro or Adobe RGB or sRGB mode.

(4) if I use lightrooms canon pro printing studio Player is the color space translated automatically the settings of my camera or do I have to activate it in lightroom first?.

(5) I use a Mac running yosemite 10.10 and to learn more about ICC profiles where the factory ICC profiles download how and where to store can you recommend a joint Web site to learn how to do this on a mac?

(6) as you can see I want to just print the best images from the camera to the printer without much science involved but I'm willing to learn, but get confused with the post-production of workspace different menu software for best results, that I'd do it prosume until I get my proffesionally calibrated monitor would print from Raw with the factory ICC profiles?

7) color space and calibration of the parameters are all about what you have on the print screen or it is mainly for the depth of extra color to print?

I can calibrate my monitor on adobe RGB and have my camera shoot on adobe RGB-calibration with the software, but said I need correct color surveillance devices? If I were to do this and still just used paper ICC profiles the footprints would be better?

My first impressions were excellent, very similar to what I see on the screen in all cases but I checked the lightrooms settings and these are on Pro photo RGB for external editing and it of color space for printing pluggin also studio, or is it just native Raw sRGB if I change the settings it says I'll lose the color space maxium potential.

Sorry for the influx of questions :-)

Thomas

Hahnemühle has an excellent explanation on downloading and adding profiles for PC and Mac

http://www.Hahnemuehle.com/en/digital-FineArt/ICC-profiles/installing-profiles.html

Print Studio Pro is rather obscure on the use of profiles than those installed, but it's pretty simple.

In the area of setting printer settings choosing fine arts I or II (I used one and it seems to work)

Then in the color management box, use the pull down to find the right profile added.

  • PIXMA pro 100 versus pixma ip8720

    Hello:

I'm in the market for a new photo printer.  I got some Epsons for years but these guns are really pretty.  I'm looking at Pixma Pro 100 and the Pixma ip8720.  What is your opinion?

    Thank you!

I have the Pro-100 and I have a Pro - 9500 II, then you probably know my preference.

Either will do a good job and I guess the only difference between the two is, AI a printer 6 colors and the other is an 8.

The Pro-100 is a beast at nearly 45 pounds.  It's a really nice photo printer.

  • PIXMA Pro-100, ICC profiles, etc.

I will try to make a long story short.  About 5 months ago, I bought a camera Canon T3i.  Is not only the prints that I got at department stores, bought a PIxma Pro-100.  Little did the research, visited account I need to calibrate my monitor, purchased a Datacolor Spyder Pro 4.

My questions concern the software used to get prints.  I do not have PhotoShop, and I don't want to buy it.  I have PaintShop Pro, but realize that I can't use it.  My computer is Win7.  I do not know cameras, but I've been in it for 30 years.  I know that computers.

I'm not happy with the impressions I'm away until now.  The colors all are low (for lack of a better word).  Everything I've read about the Pro100 said colors should be rich (saturated).  Mine are not.

First, I tried the software that came with my camera.  Digital Photo Professional.  It works with the plugin from Canon, Print Studio Pro.  It seems that he has acknowledged, or charges, ICC profiles for Canon paper I use.  It does not recognize or give me the option to select an ICC profile for my monitor.

I called Canon support.  The guy I spoke to Easy-PhotoPrint EX software recommended.  Said that he should have come on the CD with my Pixma.  He did not.  This software does not use the plugin from Canon.  And appears to be more limited.  He said that it works well with Canon cameras.  Honestly, it looked like it was BS'ing me all the time.  If you don't know the answer, it's ok to put it simply, it's my feeling.

OK, it turns out be a long story.  Can someone help me?  This printer I have does not measure upward for what I've read about it.  I spent a lot of money to get good prints from my Canon camera.  I don't have this, not even close.  What should I do?

In DPP, go to tools-> Preferences-> color management and you can select a monitor profile.

  • Canon Pixma Pro - 100 prints very dark

I see that it is a recuring with the Canon Pixma Pro-100 problem, but nothing, I found an online help I ask and hope someone can solve this problem for me.

Just picked up a Pixma Pro-100 today and installed on my iMac 27 "(Yosemite) 2011 with the latest drivers downloaded from Canon to be sure to have the website." I also checked the printer firmware but it's later to 1,100. Weather, I'm printing through Lightroom or Photoshop; by Canon Print Studio Pro, my garden image, or by LR / PS directly; with - or without PS as a manager of color; the prints is proving to be much to dark.

I have to set an exposure of 2/3 in LR to be anywhere nearby to get the same result as on the screen. I am also careful to select the right ICC for correct paper profiles. My monitor is calibrated with a Spyder4pro and I also re-calibrated her during this process to see if that helped.

Well. Long story short; the prints are dark. So I borrowed 2013 Spyder4pro MacBook Pro (Yosemite my wife) and installed the latest drivers from Canon. Once again; on this machine, the impressions are also to dark with about + 2/3 in order to correct the impression of something that looks like the monitor. The two screens can also be programmed to 30% brightness.

I also have access to an Epson Stylus Photo R3000 and the prints of that much brighter spell.

Unfortunately, I see that many others also have the same problem. Then; Here's the question. How can I fix it? Do I have to return the printer and get a refund? Because it's clearly not good enough.

Thank you very much for your answers. But unfortunately, I have "been there, done that" on all of your advice.

I go back on Monday to the printer and replace it with an equal Epson printer as I have only good experiences with this brand and the prints I get without using overtime to tinker with settings.

It was my first (and last) Canon printer.

    Hi Watcher35,

I see that the Laserjet Pro 100 ACM M175NW new is missing print in the middle of the pages, you ran cleaning and color calibration, but the issue is not resolved.

This would be a specific example of the question: but with the 'Bb' would be completely missing?

  • Paper size of the PIXMA Pro - 100 substitute

    Hello

I love the Pixma Pro-100 on most levels compared to my previous R2400!  Ink consumption, image quality, etc. all are better.  The only exceptionis I could print a banner 44 "on the Epson.  Is it possible to configure or replace the maximum print size 13 x 19?

    Thank you!

    KP

Like other Canon printers, the PRO-100 to set custom paper sizes.

Paper width: 12.95 "- after a few tries, I found that a custom size the value 13" causes a printing error. With the help of 12.95 "corrected it. You will notice on the scale of width 16.54. This is an error in the software programming.

I found that the effective maximum print length is 26 ".  Then 12.95 x 26 inches.  No. 44 inches!

  • PIXMA Pro - 100 and Windows 8.1 help please...

    Hello

    I'll try to be concise

Spent the whole day on the phone to do this without the same answer twice * sigh *.

I was told and I read again and again that YES, Pro-100 WILL absolutely work with Windows 8.1.

Then... It is possible that it will NOT work unless I have 8.1 Pro Pack.

    Is this true?

IOW... Is there anyone using the PIXMA Pro-100 with Windows 8.1 * without * Pro Pack very well?

I ordered the printer yesterday before being told this topic and need to know if I need to cancel my order before it ships.

I thank very you much for any help.

  • PIXMA Pro 100, printing setup error

I am new to printing, I just got my Pixma Pro and so far have had terrible results.  1/10 times I get beautiful prints, the rest are terrible, faded, and as they have a gray film on them.  I think that its either a management or color paper management problem. I try to use 8.5 "x 11"Canon Pixma Photo"with finishing mate.  I print with Photoshop. I have the same problem if I click on Photoshop color handle or manage color printers, but prints nice 1/10 has been made manually setting the document to "glossy" under the menu print settings in Photoshop CS6 instead by selecting Matte is the obvious choice.

When I chose Photoshop treats color management I get prints of same gray no matter what printer profile I select. Although it seems more logical to choose matte Canon Pro - 100 3 paper photo because it's what I use, once again nice 1/10 prints have been achieved selection Pro 3 Platinum photo paper.

I don't understand how it works.  The picture I am trying to print is here, green and nice blue. http://www.Flickr.com/photos/27816471@N06/9076033417/in/set-72157634198994950 it seems gray and washed out when I print, sort of like the printer is 1/2 more ink, but he says is not.  Black and gray are good.

What should I do?  I know its operator error, but I can not re - introduce one of the environment to get decent prints of this, so I'm considering junking or return. really disappointed.

He is a. (at least on the matte premium.) was a packet of information about 3 x 4 in plastic sleeve, in that the paper is conditioning?

Should be slightly whiter and not quite as calm as the side back side printing. Very subtle.
