Cable replacement HP Envy 14 spectrum (14-3011tu) power adapter

Hello Forum,

I just managed to head out of my cable power supply HP Envy 14 spectrum (14-3011tu).  The power adapter is one of these adapters to travel HP (65W - 574487-001) with interchangeable heads.  I called HP Australia and various providers of HP to see if I can get a replacement interchangeable heads or even a replacement adapter all but nobody has them in stock (although they supply base but not the correct head and no one knows when they'll get extra stock).

-Does anyone know if there's a cell phone similar HP that uses the same 4.7 mm long head adapter like the HP Envy 14 spectrum (14-3011tu)? I would like to buy one so that I can hack together a new cable interchangeable head then I expect new stock coming OEM.

PS. I've already ordered some after-sales adapters off eBay to fit the Envy 14 spectrum but they are too thick to fit in a few clams micronos decision-making.  The picture below just in case you encounter the same headache like me.

    Hello

The adapter for my HP envy 14 spectrum ultrabook, model 3011tu, recently stopped providing free to my laptop. I found out it is all a most difficult part to replace, many retailers ebay offering parts that claim to be compatible, but when buying, I found to have cords that don't fit in the socket on my laptop. The HP parts store tells me that brick replacement AC #574638-001 is no longer available and pointing me to a functional equivalent, #693716-001, but there is no card included to confirm that I will buy the right part. I'm ready to bite the bullet and pay the $140USD, but only if I can be sure I won't be disappointed when another part does not. Any advice about whether this is indeed the right part, a part can come are very much appreciated.

    Thank you

You're welcome, and Yes, as long as you are assured of admission to 3 pins on the brick that's the big difference.

  • Envy 14 spectrum scalability

    Hello

I'm new to the forum. I recently bought an Envy 14 spectrum with an i5 3317u and 4 GB of ram... I have yet to receive it.

I watched some videos on YouTube showing that this laptop has a second msata for an additional ssd slot and a slot ram single at the back of the card mother, accessible only if you disassemble the laptop.

I want to add a second 480 GB ssd and eventually replace the 4gig ram stick with a 8gig one.

Might void my warranty if I make these changes? Or can I freely add the ssd, but does not replace the ram stick?

Another question, what are your thoughts on this laptop? I bought mainly for University (computer science), but I also want to edit my newborn son 1080 p videos every now and then... is it be a pain in the thigh or it would feel smooth to work on 1080 p video files (with the exception of export times, which are not a big problem for me).

The Envy 14 spectrum maintenance & Service guide indicates that the SSD is customer accessible.

It also shows there is space fot two SSD drives.

Adding an another SSD will not invalidate your warranty.

However, there is no guarantee that the addition of a 480 GB SSD to the Envy 14 spectrum will work as expected. It cannot be supported for one SSD of this capability in the BIOS.

I am trying to find the right power for this new notebook (spectrum Envy 14).  The trick seems different from what I can find, and a few other forum messages seem to indicate that HP recommends not correct sometimes.

Good news for anyone who maybe look for a spare for the Envy 14 spectrum or any other power adapter line like Ultrabook.  I took my chances and bought a HP Slim travel (http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Accessories/AC-Adapters/VF685AA?HP-Slim-Travel-AC-Adapter) for my Envy 14 spectrum AC adapter, even if she did not want on the compatible list ultrabooks.  To my surprise, the package has a compatible "HP Ultrabook" sticker on the front.  To confirm what I thought it meant, I opened the package and found the appropriate laptop power cable that is used on all HP Envy Ultrabooks.  Detective Conan.

  • r8500 Power adapter needs to be replaced

    Hi guys,.

Unfortunately, my puppy has decided to go into my computer room and causing havoc with power cords (didn't hurt fortunately but it has decided to start chewing on large parts of the adapters, only good side of things, it's that he didn't have a wee on it!)

Anyway, I can't find a power adapter replacement online for this specific router. Is there any place I could find an or can support netgear help me buy another (I can't be the only person who needs a replacement power adapter). I don't want to get the bad either and short-circuit this unit.

So if there is someone who knows where to find one, or could help me to find the right person to netgear to connect with I would really appreciate it!

@ifixidevices Like E - Bay is a not authorized reseller, consider buying a new power adapter.

    Thank you

is this the same power cord included in the iMac product?

No it's a specific connector for a MacBook power adapter

I can use it as a normal power cord instead of the original?

No, it is used to connect to a MacBook power adapter, into a socket with a cable

  • HP Pavilion dv6000: power adapter replacement - OEM vs 3rd part (fire safety)

A friends laptop needs a new power adapter.  The current one is broken at the wire, exposing some wire so I used a Ribbon insulation on it.

To get a replacement from HP, it would cost approximately 62 + $12 for shipping.  The small town (Anchorage, Alaska), a replacement, would be about $59.

On eBay and Amazon, I found a handful to about a third of the price.  How safe do what they consider the problem with HP on reminders with problem of fire power adapter?

Moreover, I found on eBay that has "HP" on them.  Is - is this true?

    Thank you

No way to know if "HP" eBay adapters are real, unless it is a seller with a high positive feedback and the auction uses the 'authentic' word, so you can be sure that it is a part of HP used, real and is safe to buy.

"Compatible" adapters have come a long way in recent years, and I will use them on older laptops where finances dictate. A bit like the batteries. If you can afford 'authentic', get 'authentic', but 'compatible' or knock-off adapters are pretty safe to use if they come from a reputable seller. I'm more concerned about reliability. They tend to last a shorter time than the adapters authentic and are not quite so solidly built. This means that there is a slightly higher risk of electrical problems? No doubt, but not to a great extent. Laptops electrical fire issues are as rare as being struck by lightning. But as always, you get what you pay for.

  • HP Envy 14 A9P67UA spectrum #ABA: Add (or replace) mSATA SSD to the HP Envy 14 spectrum w/windows 10... possible? Worth the risk?

    Hi all!

So, I read in this forum on this subject and have seen mixed results.  I bought this computer a few years ago, generally pretty happy with it but I ran out of space and the battery is dying.  I am trying to decide whether to revise it or buy new.   That's what I want to do:

Add 2nd mSATA SSD in the second slot.  I saw a post like this HD is compatible but that's a post.  Around, I've read that others have had problems by adding a second SSD.  Some people can not access, some people, it shows only a 128 GB extra, in fact, some have a BSOD.   The post I saw replaced the original disc to help one of them and adding a second drive so the two HDs were of the same brand.  Is it a better idea?  Also, all the posts I've seen on this topic were two years old and dealt with Windows 7.  Windows 10 it will make it harder to do?

    http://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-850-mSATA-2-inch-MZ-M5E1T0BW/DP/B00TGIVRYU?ie=UTF8&PSC=1&redirect=true...

If not I can try and use the same car with the model came in the second slot to help in possible compatibility issues, but I would be limited to a 128 GB extra (or possibly 256?).

I have also upgraded the memory of 8 GB and add a new battery.

Reflections on what is successful? I wouldn't waste money on these parts if this is going to work.  Thank you!

  • HP Envy Phoenix 860se-100: required power for DVD cable drive on Envy Phoenix 860

I recently bought a Phoenix of envy and the first task was to cut the power of 500w and replace it with a bigger 80 more platinum supply (EVGA Supernova 750w P2). I have a 980ti video card and added a few SSDs that require the increased power.

While it is installed and works well, the Endowment had a [what I have now learned to know as] sata mini connector for power to the DVD player. Naturally my new power supply do not have that.

Best I can tell is to get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009JXKQ9O?keywords=mini%20sata%20adapter & qid = 1458574748 & ref_ = sr_1 _... (although I have will probably want it a little longer)

This should allow me to connect the sata and power from the motherboard. So my question is that correct?

Or something like that might work also, http://www.amazon.com/Syba-Cable-Molex-Adapter-CL-CAB40042/dp/B005BCNAWM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1458...

I guess that this connects to my diet?

I bought a cable mini sata (6 pins) on ebay for a few dollars. Solved the problem. Subsequently my brother mentioned that the electricity company probably would send me a free.

500 watts was barely sufficient to manage the graphics card processor and 980ti. I don't want a bill of $600 to replace my card because the power supply has failed. Not to mention that it is more than 10% more efficient.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • iPod 5G with video load cable replacement?

Can anyone recommend where to buy a replacement cable for an iPod 5th generation w / Video 30 GB?

I know that it is the former type of charging cable, but I was also sure that there are 2 version of this ' version '. Chargers iPhone 4 do not work properly if my memory is good.

    Model: MA146LL

    Size: 30 GB

    Version: 1.3

It has a color screen and touchdown.

    Thank you

You can use two types of '30-pin' USB docking cable that Apple has officially sold as spare parts.  What is the current always sold

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MA591G/C/Apple-30-pin-to-USB-cable

In the list, under compatibility, product of 5th gen iPod is listed.

The older type has a larger plastic end of host connector, but the connection point is the same as the new type.  With the older type, you press the sides of the connector to release the hooks.  The new type is held in place by friction and two 'bumps' instead of brackets; Simply pull.

Third party reputable sources also options work fine.
