  I'm looking for 'FREE' Microsoft Mathaematics 4.0 update, but do not know how to determine the file to download.  MS offers three choices: MSetup_x64.exe;  MSetup_x86.exe;  and Readme_Mathematics4.htm.  I have a XP operating system that already has the (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft as student Math installed.  I want to remove this program and upgrade to version 4.0.  In 69 years and not major in technology, I need help and instructions on what to download and how or if I need to delete the old program of math or will be the new facility to do for me and replace the old and the new.  Help, please!

  If you have Windows XP (and you did not bother to point on it was 64-bit) then you need to install 32-bit (or x 86).  The Readme is just... Well well... a file, you can read.

  There is no key of square root on the scientific calculator, only on the standard. You must use the x ^ y operation with the second operande.5 for example, 16 [x ^ y]. 5 = 4, or using Inv x ^ y as Inv 16 x ^ y 2 = 4

  With some research on 32-bit Windows, I think that the reason is that your computer cannot access more than 2 TB.

  Yes to question 1.  I have done several times myself and never had a problem.

  Because I do not work for MS or HP, I don't know why they do what they do.  It has been since Windows 2000 came out that MS has been demanding that PC manufacturers to affix the product key on the PC in a place where the part it is affixed, can be easily removed.

  There are not more COA stickers with the new PC that come with the W8, and product keys are now encrypted in the BIOS in an attempt to MS to further reduce the use of the software piracy and illegal product keys.

  It seems Im bumping up against the limit of 256 characters for path names / quite frequently these days. The increase of 8 + 3 characters for the file names, to the era of MS-DOS, to 256 characters/path of the file names is a wonderful thing when it was first implemented. But 256 limit character on the file + path names seems now quite inadequate. I'd even dare to suggest that increasing the limit above 256 would be more than just a nice update, but a required progress to catalogue the catalogue in full expansion of the knowledge we have today. Anyone know if Microsoft intends to increase this limit of 256 characters on the path + filename anytime in the near future?

  My recommendation is to increase the limit to a maximum of 256 characters to 4096 characters for the path + filename. This should be sufficiently comfortable for a few years anyway.

  Hello. I have a document that has a text form field. I want to run a custom calculation script which basically says if field 'Number group' = xxxxxxx, so the 'Group name' field should = ABC company.

  I have a list of almost 575 group numbers and names that I need to put in the script. And I have the script works fine, but I'm guessing that there is a limit of characters for the field script? It doesn't let me put my complete list in there.

  Yes, there is a character limit for internal JS Editor. The round it is to use an external, such as Notepad.

  Do go to Edit - Preferences - JavaScript and select "Use the external JavaScript editor" and then select the application you want to use.

  Don't forget, however, that you must close the external file each time that change you it if you want to update in the PDF file.

  I have entered the required information, or rather microsoft did for me.  I learned that there is a validation email sent, similar to the live validation of windows mail.

  The validation mail is not arrived after 72 hours!

  There has been several attempts to try to get a validation email displayed.  Now, I ran the attempts allowed.

• Is there a limit to how many images Microsoft will allow me to have?

  My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.

  I'm sorry that still is not quite logical (or I am being stupid). Even with a backup 3rd party tool, you can have as many images you can store, but always as a single computer running. Even if you did a 100 images when you do the 101st the program does not know how many of the previous 100 still exists.

  I want to calculate the band including a weighted rms noise.   I'm able to calculate noise from rms to an analog signal without any bandwidth limitation.  Find the attached vi for details.  I want to limit the bandwidth to some known values (say 20 Hz to 20 kHz) and then calculate the rms noise.

  What is the problem you are having?

  I do not have the Sound and Vibration Toolkit, but when I replace it with a filter from the palette of Signal Processing, I get changes in bandwidth and in the calculation of rms.  The RMS.vi of the mathematics > probability & statistics palette produces the same value you use the VI of statistics. Based on average DC - RMS.vi Signal Processing > range of measures of waveform produced smaller values on the 3 orders of magnitude.
