camera is accidentally turned on how can I disable it

Device was accidentally activated by my son. How do you turn it off.

Found my own answer.  You must open the camera again.  Then pull the top of your toolbar to start, click on 'settings' (you should be in camera app settings now), select "permissions" and there you will see written "webcam and microphone" with a type of cursor "button" and next to him, he said 'on '.  Use your mouse to drag the button completely to the left. Once there, it will show "off".  Problem solved.  Again, it was on a laptop, so not sure how this translates a smartphone.
