• Problem updating Camera Raw CS4

  After a re installation computer, I try to get the raw files from my Olympus E - 620 working with Photoshop CS4.  After some research (and attempts), I found that I can use Adobe Camera Raw versions up to 5.7.  I downloaded the update and it appears the application CameraProfiles in order to install correctly, but my plugin version 5.0.0.178 rest and my raw files opens (incorrect file type errors).  Windows 7 64-bit.  I prefer not to use the digital negative converter but do it properly installed (not yet tried).  Thank you!

  If, as you say, it installed, it should have gone in the wrong folder. I suggest that you use the Windows Explorer and navigate to the Program Files folder and search for *.8bi. Camera Raw should be included in the folder C:\Program Files\Common Adobe Plug-Ins\CS. If you see a list for both Camera Raw files, I suggest that you change the extension on the one who is in the right folder to old. That to copy the other Camera Raw files into this folder. At least it's something to try.

• Camera Raw CS4: cannot open more than one file?

  It is a very strange problem. I recently installed CS4 and started using it with a Canon 5 d RAW files Mark II camera. By choosing File-> open as-> Camera Raw, I can't select more than one raw file in the file dialog box. I can not open a single raw, no problem, but no matter what I try, or ctrl-A, now the SHIFT key or ctrl does not allow me to open several files. With the CS3 version, that it worked well.

  Is there a setting in preferences to control this (seems very strange there)

  PS: I see that there are two selections available in the list Camera Raw file types: what is the difference between them?

  If they are raw files, then simply use File-> open, you just go the file-> open as a route if you want to open JPEGs in Camera Raw without going through the bridge.

  There is no point in listing of camera Raw file formats because each device produces its own version anyway, one. CR2 file produced by a camera is not the same as that produced by another camera, the Camera Raw plugin must be constantly updated.

  The problem was 2 Utility of Canon; I uninstalled this program and now it al works as it should work.

• Why should I use camera raw in bridge

  You will need a camera that can produce Raw files (see the manual of your camera for this) and you will also have the plugin Camera Raw correct for the type of device you are using. In short, when after having updated CS4 and not to have a new type of camera that just came out, you should be able to use these Raw files in CS4.

  ACR can be used in bridge and PS, they are the same but have a small difference in backup options active (default gateway 'Done') and default ch 'open image '. Best part so that you can use two processors simultaneously. then when you have several files processing in one you can start with settings on the other :-)

  There is a set much more to learn more about Raw, there is some good white papers, video tutorials, and a very good and easy to read book (Real World Camera Raw CS4, Bruce Fraser and Jeff Schewe).

  You are doing nothing wrong. Unfortunately, Camera Raw in Photoshop Elements can't save the file in JPEG.

  Hello Adobe, am 19. April 2000 habe ich mir eine Photoshop CS 4 Version as Teen so Geld. Now habe ich eine Canon EOS 7 d Mark II und meine RAW - Dateien (CR2) nicht mehr öffnen kann. IM Camera RAW 5.6 geht nichts. Meinen Recherchen wird Laut Camera Raw as meine qualitative (7DMII und PS CS4) nicht weiter son. ICH einen Losungsvorschlag erbitte, wie ich zukunftig meine CR2-Dateien aus meiner Kamera mit dem bei Ihnen erworbenen Produkt weiter use kann. Should sharps non function, erbitte ich die Zusendung der-Version of Photoshop free, mit der ich meinen Workflow unverändert weiter paper kann.

  He seems to recognize both version 5.6 and 5.7 of Camera Raw under the system of information and could be the cause.

  Suggest to reinstall Photoshop CS4 and then do the update to camera raw by going to help > check for updates.

  You cannot install the latest version of Camera Raw in Photoshop CS4. The latest version of Camera Raw that is compatible with this version of Photoshop is version 5.7. If you need a newer version in order to have the support of a new camera, you will need to upgrade your Photoshop, or even use the DNG Converter free to create DNG copies that are compatible with your version of Camera Raw.

  Each device is compatible with a minimum version of camera raw.

  Please check if you have this version of the camera installed which include your raw files.

  It would also be that your photoshop will not have to install this version of camera raw as its very old.

  In this case, you can convert your raw files to DNG and can use it.

  To convert the files to DNG, you must download and install the DNG Converter.
