Can cut is no longer clips of media to drag in the timeline of the movie

Once I have download media, and I create a movie in iMovie, I am no longer able to highlight the small clips of media uploaded to slide on the timeline of the movie.  I did this for years with ease, but now when I upload media (let's say it's a 90 minute video), when I touch the clip it highlights the whole thing instead of letting me choose that it contains.  Any help would be great!

Yes, there was a change in the last update to iMovie.  The default is now to choose the full clip.  To select a part of a clip in an event that you have pressed the 'r' key while you move the cursor over the area you want to select.  An alternative is to position the cursor at the beginning of the selection and press 'i' and then place the cursor at the end of the selection and press 'o'.

You can do it in first Pro CC, but not before. Do drag the clips to the timeline in a locker and then export.

  • Can print is no longer from Outlook 2007

I can print is no longer using Outlook 2007, when I press the Preview button before printing in Outlook.  I get a message: "there is a problem with the selected printer.  You may need to reinstall the printer.  Try again or use a different printer. "I can print directly from Outlook, as long I don't push print-preview.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and will continue to receive the same error message.  I can print any other documents of the suite Office 2007 (Word and Excel) even after pressing preview before printing, but not in Outlook 2007.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem?  I use Vista 64-bit and a HP OfficeJet 6000 wireless printer.  I've felt a problem since Outlook until today.

Have you gone in Panel of-> Windows Update. and checked "view update history"?  I guess it is possible that the KB2509470 somehow got reinstalled - although I don't know how that would have occurred.  If she did get resettled, just uninstall it again.  If you do not see even if the list, then maybe it's a new problem.

    Help!

    Hello

    • What version of Windows are you using?

    1. it is possible that you are missing the codec to play the file or it is clashing with other codec files.

    2. the link provided below lists supported by Windows Media Player file format.
It does not list the AVCHD or. MTS files supported file format directly:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

    3. yet we cannot be sure at this point that the issue is due to interference with some files.

    Method 1:
Alternatively, you can perform a restore of the system to a previous point, when the issue was not present. The System Restore tool uses points of restore to return the system files and settings to an earlier point in time. You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time where you have not experienced the problem.

Note: When you use System restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To do this, there must be a restore point from the system in which the connection was successful.

Please refer to the below of the help links on performing a system restore.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-system-restore
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2:
You can determine which codec was used with a specific file; read the file in the player, if possible. When the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties. On thefile tab, look at the Audio codec and Video codec sections.

Then you can uninstall any installed codec and install that you need to do the job file.

If you have several codec for the single file to work they can clash and cause problems.

You can check the link for assistance on the issue - below

  • I can encode is no longer a sequence in PP CC after last update Dec 2013

II had to close and restart CC PP about 5 times when just create a simple sequence of clips to a family get together for Thanskgiving.  I had to stop because just enough sponsor.  Fortunately, when I have opened the project, I could resume.   I finally got my order of creation, but now I can not export the sequence.  The encoding is not 8 times in a row.  I tried direct export and export to the queue of the SOUL.  Sometimes I get the error and the absolutely useless error message "film compilation error.  Unknown error. "Sometimes it stops just to make no progress in the encoding without message at all, but there are zero cycles CPU consumed by PP or SOUL.  Simply it stops without error message.  Happened 3 times when used approach Media queue, and in the preview area in the SOUL, it is simply stopped coding to very different places in sequence.

    AME Fail.jpg

It seems as if I can encode is no longer a film.  And I pay a lot of money for all this month?  What a sap.

I'm glad that I'm not a Pro, including income and life depends on these tools!  But I have a full-time job and only a very small amount of free time.  I don't want my little free time as a beta-tester Adobe.  I am using Adobe tools for years, that's why I signed up for CC, but... at this point: I can not even convert a simple sequence!

I can not express my disappointment.  I wanted to upload the encoded MP4 on VIMEO for my friends and family to see now, but... . I can not even convert a simple sequence.  And I'm not a beginner.  I have hundreds of videos on VIMEO and many others on Youtube and Smugmug.  Everyone was made with Adobe PP (v4 on).

But now: I'm dead in the water.

I gurantee you I won't "re -" at the end of my subscription of the CC, and I guess now I have to start from scratch with my raw clips and find other tools to use?  I wish all my expensive plug-ins (such as MB more) would work in whatever tools I'm to... but... I guess I'll have them write off as a loss, as the next 8 months of pay for my software Adobe CC that no longer works.

I would like to there was a way I could take the project of Thanksgiving and of its sequences I have created PP CC and convert the PP 6.0 project, given that I have never had any problems with her PP v6.0.

But, as I understand it, if you do a CC PP project, you're lost.  You can't go back.

And you know what?  I'm done.  I left.  I won't even try to begin again in PP 6.0.  I'll find other tools.  I know that they will be not as complete as Adobe, but... I'm not a pro.  I just need something that works reliably.

    Disgusted beyond words.

    NVidia GTX 470

PS: So, Adobe there any type of disaster recovery plan when an update like this fails?  Can you please send an "update" which restores me to the previous version on the CC PP?

If the old project exported very well through CC, which shows that there is nothing wrong with CC itself.  It is a sequence just that in the project that is the question.  Sometimes, and with an unknown error, we have no way of knowing why.  There are as many reasons for the failure.  The timing with the 7.2 update is more likely than causal coincidence.

Before going back to an earlier version, you might try hard to fire only a single sequence.  Copy / paste the clips in a new sequence in the same project, import only a single sequence in a new project, open the sequence in After Effects and try to export from there, etc..

  • Color correction/effects when working with long clips

    Hello

    First time poster!

I am a beginner with Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5. I use it now to make a color correction on DVD badly produced in my movie collection! I was wondering if it is possible by effects of correction of color on a clip if you apply different effects to different parts of a clip. For example - at the beginning of a clip, the scene is really promising, but some 30 minutes later, the clip is really dark. Is it possible to darken the beginning and lighten the end? How you people would have a situation like this? You edit the movie down to the smaller pieces? If so, how would you use for that?

    Thanks for the help!

    Howard

    Howard,

    Welcome to the forum.

As well as the suggestion of Jon-M-Spear (the one I use most often too), many effects can be touch-ups, so that they change over time. However, it takes some time and may require a lot of violin.

If you have a long Clip and know that you will later add the same set of effects, but just with different attributes, you can do two things, and rely on Jon - M method:

    • You can create a preset effect and apply to all of your Cup, let's call them "subclips," Although this term has other meanings, so be careful when using it. Then apply this preset to all subclips. Then, tweak each application of the Preset, as is necessary for the individual subclip.
    • Similarly, you can apply all the necessary effects to the first of your subclips, tweak for her, as is necessary, then Rt-click on it, choosing copy. Now select the rest of the subclips, you want to apply this set of effects, Rt-click on it, select the attributes of the dough and then adjust, as necessary.
    • A variation on the above would be to apply effects to the origianal Clip and THEN make cuts. Go back and modify each individual subclip.

    Good luck

  • Selection of specific clips of a long clip?

Hi, I imported a 30 min clip, I want just pieces of. I wrote on a piece of paper the segments I need IE. the section of 1.30 - 3.57. Once I imported the media into iMovie how to choose the sections to put in the timeline? Hope that makes sense! Thank you

Once the clip is imported and visible in the media browser, you can select parts of the item to add to the timeline. Hold down the R button you can choose dragging on the clip. There is unfortunately no way to achieve timecode. You will need to do this visually by placing the cursor over the clip and skimming to where you want the beginning and hold the R button, and then drag to the location where you the end point. You can also browse to the starting point and I support the key and skim and then exit and press the o button. This will select the scope of the element you want to use. Again, it is a Visual activity any time.

  • Error: "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you try to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the element can point to a file that has been moved, renamed or deleted'

Original title: laptop won't read the music files stored on external hard drive

I have an old Compaq laptop Windows XP, so it was out of memory I transferred everything on a Portable Seagate (500 GB) hard drive and started to access it. It's worked well for over a year, but lately, began to stop playing my music files. Absolutely everything on the hard drive opens, however, images, files and folders, but when I go into Windows Media Player, it pops up with this error message:

Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you try to read, burn or sync an item that is in your library, the element can point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted.
I have not modified parameters or anything that moved. I used to be just able to restart the laptop, or disconnect and reconnect the hard drive and it works again, but now it or not will be not at all, or it will cut off half way through a song and then not to play anything more.
I can't find any support for this problem because the phone reads that the hard drive is there, and everything else works. Only the music doesn't. I tried to play music on a connected USB and it works fine. I'm so confused!

  • Video - Audio out of sync on long clips - CC 7.2.2

When I import videos DivX encoded since long (90 minutes), audio-video is perfectly synchronized to the beginning of the clip.

But 60 minutes, the audio is on 1-second ahead of the video - as a film Kung Fu badly produced since the 1970s.

Towards the end of the clip, it's even worse.

I have been Unlinking clips so I can move independently audio and video, but it has tripled the time required to complete a job.

No idea how to solve this problem?

    > Videos DivX encoded

XviD/Divx are output files, not intended to be modified (variations of the codec MPEG4, often used for streaming video on the Internet) so, they mostly edit NOT well (if at all) in any flavor first, even if encapsulated within an AVI container
