can I add a sata dvd drive to foxconn mcp73m01h1

Compaq sr5450f products kj383aa #aba, {Personal Information deleted} - map mother foxconn mcp73m01h1 receiver has the sata connections 4 four. I guess I can use one for an additional hard drive - but I also use one for a dvd rw sata drive?  The original dvd drive pci sata wasn't. I think that I need the data lines. Am I wrong?

You are the very welcome.

Normally, you add the second hard drive to the adjacent sata port where the primary had disk is connected and the DVD player goes into the port sata above the main hard drive.

Please explain exactly what you mean.  You want to copy your commercial DVD on your hard drive (movies)?

If so, the answer is Yes, if you have a big enough hard.  Each disk DVD movie will take about 9 GB of hard disk space.

    Help, please...

    Hi dynamitenews

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
    2. what happens when you try to start the computer?

You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.

Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/BIOS-frequently-asked-questions

If nothing is done, then you can contact the manufacturer support for assistance on setting up the correct boot sequence and check.

  • Can I add a third hard drive to h9 Pavilion HPE currently have an SSD drive and a SATA drive?

HP Pavilion HPE h9 (Phoenix), win 7 64

Can I add a third SATA drive to my system?  The specs say three bays are available, but when I ordered it I could not add a third (or greater than 1 TB drives).  Is there something on the SSD that changes the spacing of the drive Bay?  I prefer not to take the walk outside if there is no way to add another drive.

    Hello

Please report the number of HP for your PC product.

You review this article and video?  You will need to remove the cage hard disk to install the third hard disk. In general, the SSD is in the middle of each side mounting with HDDs of 3.5 ".  Hard drive cage is made for three hard disks.

The specifications indicate theProvisioning for three hard drives on this particular model. The firm seems to be the same as the other two models HPE H9.

  • can I add an internal hard drive of my elite 9240f? How?

HP Pavilion elite 9240f with a single hard drive and two dvd workouts. Windows 7

Sure. You should probably upgrade the PSU as there may be not a spare PSU OEM s - ATA power connector. You will need to check visually than yourself. There are SATA ports available for the additional disk. Use one of the bays empty 5.25 ". Buy a SATA hard drive that is not longer than 2 TB. You will need to apply update firmware of SATA drive from the web support portal. If the hard drive firmware update is not applied, you can have problems with registration of data on hard drives.

I'm not sure the ports that are SATA2 (available literature does not indicate it).

  • where can I add a third hard drive to my hpe-140f?

I read somewhere that a 3rd HD can be added.  HD cage holds only two disks.

Are there instructions available on how to add a 3rd disc?

    Thank you

    Fiery,

You had the unit apart before and removed the envelope PMD/combination drive Bay to install the 2nd HDD.

The only 2 places available would be the Bay PMD or the 2nd Bay of CD/DVD drive.

The easiest is the 2nd CD/DVD Bay, because it requires only a standard kit of 3.5 to 5.25.

  • How to add a SATA controller driver to the ESXi 3.5 installation CD (edited)

    Salvation to the whole community,

Today, I downloaded and tried to install VMWare ESXi on a Core Duo Quad system.

The motherboard is an ASUS P5KPL-CM with Intel G31and ICH7 Chipsets.

The pc is equipped with a SATA hard drive.

    The question is:

Immediately after clicking on install, I get a message as "impossible to find a support machine to write the VMWare ESXi server.

Related to the issue I have add this question:

It is essential that the HDD on the installation location, I have to be a VIRGIN or EMPTY? Or it is not?

In other words, what happens if ESXi installer detects something on the disc (i.e. the drive entirely with a Windows bootable partition)? ESXi Installer has an option of disc clear or if no partition is present, the result is the issue I described above?

I ask because I see that here http://www.VM-help.com/ESX/ESX3.5/Whiteboxes_SATA_Controllers_for_ESX_3.5_3i.htm are mentioned some systems with ICH7 chipset.

Of course, it's a matter of controller. On this pc, Windows XP Pro installed fine, no SATA driver required.

This is the reason for this post.

Thank you all so you help me with the right tip.

    Robert

Hi Robert, VMware has changed the way ICH7 controllers are recognized between update 2 and update 3.  With neither release were connected ICH7 readers supported, but with update 3, the controller is supported for CD-ROMs only.

To get there I would be supported installation update 2.   You can then change oem.tgz to reverse changes 3 fact update.  Take a look at this thread for more information - http://communities.vmware.com/message/1094540#1094540.  You can also try this install method - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/ESXi_install_to_IDE_drive/ESXi_install_to_IDE_drive.php.

  • A100: Can't see my CD/DVD drive

I uninstalled an unknown version of a program called Daemon tools (earlier this year) one never since my cd-RW/dvd drive has always been does not appear in my computer as if I did not at all a cd/dvd drive!

I still need to acsess my C drive and any other device I have plugin via USB or whateva. But when I start my laptop, only 1 time in 4 or if my CD-RW/DVD drive appears.
If I put a CD or DVD in the drive when the icon is not in my computer, nothing happens, and I have not found a solution.

-J' have Priofessional of Windows XP service pack 2 Version 2002
-J' have a program called ' drag ' n drop CD + DVD "like burning software.
-My computer is a Toshiba A100 with pentium m 1.4 ghz, 496 MB of ram.

I can't find anything to do with cd/dvd players or drivers in Device Manager. They have completely disappeared. I can't install this again as a "new hardware" because the computer can not find. • Satellite X 200-219: can I add a third HARD drive

    Hello

First I will say large laptop (although more frequent updates to the screen driver would be nice: D).

So, I was nosy kicking on the Intel Matrix Storage console, and it turns out that I have an unusued port (port 1).
Means that it is possible to add another internal hard drive of my laptop?
Or is it wishful thinking on my part?

Another question: is there any room for a third HARD drive in all cases?

    Thank you!

    Hello

I talked to a technician for laptop and the third HDD is not possible
The laptop was equipped with a 2 hard drives and a Max which is possible

Don t know what you mean by a free port, but it is certainly not a third SATA HDD controller

  • Can't boot from USB/dvd drive on Satellite Pro M10

    Hello

the broken internal dvd drive, an external USB disk is used. Now I need to reinstall windows on a new hard drive. How can I boot from the external hard drive? (I don't have a floppy drive, but I can't find the right drivers)

    Thank you

    Luke

    Hello

Don t you need all the drivers for this key USB — because the USB disk is a device integrated on your computer. This means that whenever you connect the diskette drive to your machine, the computer establishes that diskette as a cable internal disk and this is the reason why you won´t need all the drivers.

It s already installed when you plug it in.

    Hello

My PC has disk hard 500 GB is about 55 per cent complete at the present time.  I would like to install a second drive - SSD or regular work.  Would connect it via USB 3.0.  Is this possible?

Yes, you can easily attached an external hard drive via USB 3.0

A better option would be to replace your drive existing optical and DVD player with a hard drive CaddyBay.
