Can I create partitions without losing my data?

I use Windows 7 Home Basic 32 bit, I have only a primary partition, IE. « C ». I want to install Windows 8 and also want to use Windows 7 at the same time, for this I need and separate partition. can I do in 'C' partition without data loss? and if I can, how? Help, please!

You can.  But back up all your data first!  This process is a dangerous process and the smallest slip could erase your entire hard drive.  You have been warned.

Now, that being said,.

(1) open disk management

(2) right click on your C drive in the chart and "reduce" the volume

(3) right-click the now empty space and create a new volume he

(4) click the new volume, and then format. Give it a name that you will recognize as "Win8" or something

(5) boot from your installation Windows 8 media and choose install this new partition on

    Hello:

I don't know why some programs that you have installed have disappeared after the repair process.

Yes, the method of reinstalling windows without losing files is correct as long as you don't let windows not delete or format the partition.

What happens is that it creates a Windows.old folder and you can copy all your files from windows.old to the new facility.

However, you will need to reinstall all your programs, because there will be only a simplified version of Windows 7 installed with no program.

This is the method I use (I still have my files backed up just in case), but it's so easy to go in the windows.old folder and transfer my files and internet favorite folders from the windows.old folder to the new installation of windows.

whith to change my win 7 I don't want to risk my files and data.

I still have that win 7 on i and win 8 togther

Windows 8 is not through beta again, and still less as a definitive system. I try even now the installation of developer. He will "die" as soon as the beta is out.

In the meantime, do as much research as you can in dual boot.

Remove the drive and connect it to another computer, then you can at least move your data files on the hard drive.

  • Can I upgrade xp pro sp2 or 3 to windows 7 without losing my data

Can I upgrade xp pro sp2 or 3 to windows 7 without losing my data? I have all versions of software microsoft ever made including all old dos programs. There will should be ashamed of yourself not to do all versions of upgrade to windows 7 without losing data or programs. I have all your programs and all of them are legal and regged. I want to improve my xp and my pc vista to windows 7. There will have screwed the American public and I don't appreciate not being not able to be upgraded to win 7 without losing anything.

If you have another partition, you can install Win7 on it. And have a dual boot

But if you don't have a spare partition you have (or will be at) do a clean install. Which means format and reinstall Win7

  • How can I re - install firefox without losing my data. It is infested bame ad.

Firefox is infested with "ads name.

How can I get rid of it or how can I
Re-install firefox without losing any data?

There is a rash that goes around, and the solution is not yet clear 100%. I suggest try reinstalling this way:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it is not about the deletion of your settings, it comes to ensure that program files are-own and contain no alien code files. As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 37.0.1 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) close Firefox (if applicable).

    (3) to rename the program folder

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Any improvement?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • \OldFirefox\browser\plugins

Back up your ReminderFox data before reinstalling. This is stored in a separate file in the folder of the parameters active Firefox (also known as your Firefox profile folder). You can find this file by using a button on the page of troubleshooting information. Either:

    • Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table, click on "view file". Look for a folder named reminderfox and copy it somewhere safe.

    Hello

32-bit to 64-bit is not an upgrade path.

To go from 32 bit to 64 bit, you must do a clean install.

  • Can I cancel 1 RAID without losing the data on a6560t?

I have a Pavilion a6560T desktop, and after update BIOS, I accidentally started a RAID1 configuration. There is no way to stop it, so I have now 2 drives mirrored. I pulled the second disc to see if it would give me the opportunity to decouple the disks, but no go. I now only have the original installed drive (320GB), but need the storage on the second disk (1 TB). (I tried to see if I could mirror the 1 TB with a 1 TB external USB. Now, I know that I can't because it's not SATA.

Can I go in the configuration screens during startup and implement non-RAID without losing any DATA?

    Thank you!

In fact, I entered the configuration, press http://www.ITIS.gov/servlet/singlerpt/singlerpt?search_topic=TSN&search_value=163342 I and choose Reset no RAID. The computer has restarted and then without loss of data. Just something for everyone.

  • How to reinstall windows without losing any data on the Satellite A100

    Hello everyone!
I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop and would like to reinstall Windows. The disc was divided into 2 parts. WinXp Home is installed on the first.

What happens with the data on the secondary disk if I use the recovery CD? It will be formatted?
And if this is the case, how can I reinstall winXP Home without losing the data on the second drive?

You can install the OS on the first partition only and all data saved on the second partition will not be deleted. To do this procedure of departure recovery and after choosing the language button tablecloth call SETUP. It is placed on the right side.

If I like what you must remember he chose the second option. The first one can be used when you want to create the new partition (DO NOT choose this one).

    Bye and good luck!
