  My MacBook Pro just died yesterday (logic board) and I want to install the SSD with the system on a Mac Pro.

  I just ordered a case to install the ssd drive in the machine.

  I wonder if I can boot directly from this SSD or if I do the previous setting in the system.

  Given that the Mac is able to run the latest version of Mac OS X, and you want to move the SSD for older Mac rather than new, it should work. I guess that saying you 'ordered a case to install the ssd drive in the machine' you mean connecting via USB rather than internally, which would be a great test.

  If it works, I would say running the combo for OS update comes on the SSD once it is installed in the older Mac.

  Yes, you can use the installation of Windows 7 to qualify for the upgrade to Windows 8.

  You can then install Windows 8 on Windows 7 partition and dual boot with XP.

  For reference - if the computer had installed XP you could not dual boot with the help of an upgrade of Windows 8.

  I recently bought the Pavilion 15-e002AU. It came pre-installed with Win 8 unique edition.

  Whatever it's great this day except for the thing that I don't like in the computers of brands.

  There is only a single partition of 907 GB which stores everything in it. This includes the operating system, program files files & user.

  I would like to actually split that my hard drive in different partitions as its got a lot of benifitts:

  (1) good way to organize your stuff on PC

  (2) rarely a backup would be required if you need to re - install the operating system

  (3) of new things with different operating systems without affecting your files real experience.

  Follwing are my questions:

  (1) what are the consequences if I create partitions of the HARD drive?

  (2) can I reinstall the same edition to win 8 (like today) in a separate partition for sure, I have a legal copy?

  (2) is what this will obstruct the warranty anyway?

  It is recommended to create a recovery image and keep it with you in order to restore the system to factory settings in the future if it is needed.

  It may be necessary if you are stuck in the resettlement of the detail, OS process, it may be necessary if there is no problem of material with your system and you contact technical support etc..,.

  If you have used the product key sticker certificate of authenticity pasted on Dell PC case, you violated the EULA, because the OEM licenses are not transferable.

  If your client PC is also a Dell, and as long as the versions of the CD and the corresponding COA sticker (for example, they are both for Windows XP HOME), then you have not violated the EULA.
  If you actually have a "full version xp unbranded' (assuming it is OEM) with a product key not USED, it is legal. But the license is going to die with that PC. But you said that "see you". What do you mean exactly?
