Can I install Windows XP on Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9?

Hello.

I bought the laptop with pre-installed Vista OS two weeks ago. I would like to remove Vista and install XP but I can not simply do. XP does not see my hard drive and I have no idea how to solve this problem. I have tried to download Intel 31244 PCI - X to Serial ATA Controller and burned with XP SP2 using the nLite software but to no avail. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe it's not the right driver?

Can you please help?

You used the wrong driver!
You must use the * Intel Matrix Storage Manager * instead of the Intel 31244 PCI - X to Serial ATA Controller driver!

Vista is useless because it does so not. Even Microsoft are allowing users to downgrade - please see below.

Here are a few notes I found on the web

If you want Windows XP Pro on a new machine, Windows Vista (Business or Ultimate), and then downgrade
I don't know how many people is aware of this, but if you buy a Windows Vista Business or Ultimate then you can use a Windows XP CD (that you have legal access to) to load Windows XP on this machine.

When you need the product key / or need to activate, it will potentially fail, but a simple call to with your Vista product key activation center should give you all the details you need. Then, when you're ready to put Vista on this machine, you can do without the purchase of this new cost. Alternatively, you can buy Windows XP today and if you want to load Vista, you can give more money to a store for a copy again.

    Hello

First of all thanks for the information on the downgrade of the OEM of Windows version.

I bought my Satellite with Vista and it would be nice that I would get a XP for free.

But to be honest I'm not really sure if Microsoft will activate Win XP after buying the Vista operating system. But who knows, maybe you should say with the support of Microsoft.

To my knowledge, you will not get any additional operating system from Toshiba, but only the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Each Toshiba laptop has been delivered with the recovery CD that contains the Microsoft operating system (XP or Vista), drivers Toshiba and utilities.

That's all. If you lose the recovery CD, you can order the same CD/DVD with the same operating system of the authorized Toshiba service provider!

But like I said above, a retirement details you should specify it with MS is supported.

If you get more information from MS, please report it here in this thread. It s interesting theme.

  • Can I install Windows 7 on Satellite M50D-A-10W?

    My question is simple:
Can I install Windows 7 on Toshiba Satellite M50D-A-10W?
I would stick to my Windows XP but I wanted to upgrade the operating system, and Windows 8 seems kind of funny to me.
    Thanks in advance!

Visit the page of the driver Toshiba UE and the section download M50D-A Satellite.
You will find Windows 7 drivers

By the way: you need the AHCI driver to get recognized HARD drive

  • Dead on my Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9 new pixel

    Dear Sir/Madam,
Two days ago, I bought a Satellite Pro A200GE.

The screen had a stuck pixel (constantly red) in the middle and broke the seal Genuine Windows Vista (at the back of the machine); It appears as if it were scratched and three relatively large pieces have been removed.

Regarding the stuck pixel, it seems that I can't make a claim on the warranty that we must do more than four subpixels affected. I tried the software solutions, none seems not to work (JScreen Fix and UDPixel). I'm afraid that manual methods can actually void the warranty.

I would appreciate if you can advise me on how to deal with my current situation.

I look forward to hear from you.

    Yours faithfully,
    Yousif M. A. Masoud

    You are right.
The warranty does not cover the replacement of the screen, if there is a single pixel dead only.

But in your case, I would go back to the dealer for laptop and would like to request a replacement.

Maybe the dealer of the computer laptop is a friend of chest and you will get another

    Good luck

  • Extra battery for Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9

I'm not very satisfied with the capacity of the battery of my new Sat Pro A200GE-1F9. If I'm lucky that I can get a working non-stop for 90 minutes. According to Toshiba UK, the unit comes with a 6-cell battery, and I noticed as there is an option 9 cells for me to upgrade to.

Please could someone tell me the following?

    1. buy a 9elements gives me an extra 50% battery capacity (only arithmetically, 9 cells is 50% more cells than a 6 cells)?

    2. so important, how much extra weight he would add to my current 2.7 kg?

    3. I understand that 9 cells is larger in size than a 6 cells, and would make the bottom protruding more. Is that correct, and is it noticeable?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

    With regard to the point;

    1. General battery working time depends on the use of the laptop. It's not easy to tell the time exactly. But you will not get 50% more battery work time using 9cell battery! Maybe more, but not 50% of 1/3 (33%)!

2 just check the weight of the battery! As far as I know, the weight of the battery is about 460 g

    3. on various laptops like Portégé larger batteries could exceed but I imagine that there is enough space in the battery bay in the P200 and battery should not protrude.

  • No sound after installing Windows 7 on Satellite Pro U200

    Hello

I just installed Windows 7 Professional on my Satellite Pro U200 10 p.

    Available for XP Pro.

Sound has stopped working since the new facility (which fromatting the drive - no partition) and can not find a solution. The v6.10.1.6000 of SoundMAX Integrated Digittal HD Audio Driver is installed. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but this doesn't seem to be the right driver. I can't find info to tell me what the correct driver can be either. The Toshiba site is a little sparse on Windows 7 drivers for this model and gives no indication that the driver may be is.

Windows 7 does not think that there is a problem and some reports that "this device works properly." in speaker properties > Configuration information dialog box. However not coming out, the speakers or the 3.5 mm jack

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you

    James

    Hello

Go to Device Manager and check what sound chip you have exactly:

    Use this statement:
[How to identify an unknown device? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=78]

Then you should be able to find a good pilot.
I also recommend remove/delete the sound card in Device Manager.
Just select the audio remove card and press on, and then restart the laptop

PS: Are you sure that the sound is not muted? Please check this too!

  • How to install Windows XP in Satellite Pro L300-1 to 9?

    Hello!

first of all, sorry if I ask something really obvious, but I'm quite new with this questions... sorry for my English, I'm not native.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 1 to 9 with Windows Vista preinstalled, but the thing is that I prefer Windows XP. I tried to install it, but it won't work.

I read a lot of messages and comments on this topic in this forum and also in the web. The problem is that I don't know if the procedure and drivers to download are the same for all models L300. Mine is L300 1 to 9.

Could someone give me a few extra simple instructions (I'm a beginner) on how solve this problem or a link to this question? I saw a lot of them, but none on this model L300 1 to 9.

    Thank you very much!!

    Hello!

What do you mean with it doesn t work to install Windows XP?
    Please explain this!

However, I think you forgot the SATA drivers. These drivers are required to install Windows XP, if your system is running in AHCI mode for better performance.
The drivers, you can download the Toshiba site or on Intel:

  • Is it possible to install Windows 7 on Satellite Pro 6100

Is it possible to install windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite pro 6100 computer? I am currently using windows XP.

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

Do you really think on installing Windows 7 over several years old Satellite Pro 6100?

In my opinion, it won't work because it is too old and not fast enough. Newer operating system that is supported by Toshiba is Windows XP and this should be the best choice for good old classic.

So just to be satisfied with Windows XP, it's a good choice for older computers! :)

  • How can I install Windows XP on Satellite L40 - 17R?

I tried to install windows XP on my new L40 - 17R.
    I get a msg says that I don't have a HARD drive.

I enter the WOOD so I can find a setting for SATA HDD to turn it off as I do in my old ASUS.
But I have not found anything to the HARD drive in the BIOS.

So can any body please help me how can I do to install windows XP?

    I will be grateful

You do not need to disable anything in the BIOS. Simply install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and the operating system will recognize the HARD drive.
You are going to install the SATA (Storage Manager) driver for the external USB floppy drive or you will use nLite software to build an own XP CD and include the SATA driver in the new XP.

  • Can I install Windows 7 on Satellite M70-129?

    Hello guys

I wonder if the M70 satellite would be able to run windows 7
Is there a driver will be published by Toshiba for this, or what is history
    Thanks in advance

P.S. I am trying windows 7, it's so soft on my machine

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    > I wonder if the M70 satellite would be able to run windows 7
Why do not you can install all the operating systems that are available, but the question is whether the pilots of Windows 7 will be available for M70.
Currently, you can find some Vista drivers for the M70 series and my knowledge, many Vista drivers are compatible with Win 7.

Install the drivers from Vista to Windows 7 is so worth a try

  • Can I install Windows XP on Satellite A300-1EG

What the installation of Windows XP Home on Satellite A300-1EG?

What sort of change shoul I install before?

What the difference betweem 32-bit and 64-bit? because it is a 32-bit Vista?

    Thank you

    Hello

Of course, you can install XP on this laptop
I put t see no reason why it shouldn't t function.

Satellite A300-1EG belongs to the PSAG4E.
Choose this series in the European driver Toshiba page and you will find the correct drivers.

Please note that you must install the SATA AHCI driver first.
I think this doc Toshiba should be useful:

[How to integrate a SATA AHCI driver into a Windows XP installation CD | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm]

Also it you asked is what is the difference between the 32-bit OS and 64 bit OS.
Well, there is a big difference but I n t want to show all
An important fact is that drivers don't function on 64 bit OS 32 bit.

For more information between the 32-bit and 64-bit OS recommends asking Google ;)

  • I can't install Windows XP on Satellite A205-s5831

    Hello
    I bought a new Satellite A205-s5831 laptop.
I want to downgrade Vista to XP but I can't.
I've been on it for 7 to 8 hours, but I couldn't do anything.

The thing is, I can't find RAID drivers for my laptop. So I can copy it to my USB floppy.
I downloaded the 32-bit Intel Matrix Storage Manager floppy Configuration utility for my GL960 chipset.
I copied the files on my floppy drive, but even that did not help.

Then, someone at - it an idea?

    THX

The key is definitely the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
And you don t have no need driver RAID but SATA drivers!
The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage nursery and they will work for sure!

I noticed that sometimes drivers diskette advantage 3rd don t work as it should, and that's why you should try to create a new XP CD using the freeware tool called nLite.

The nLite can help you to integrate the SATA driver into Windows XP and to create a new XP CD.

PS: SP2 is important and must be also installed on the XP CD

  • Can I install Windows 7 on Satellite click Mini L9W - B and use the touch screen?

Is it possible to install Win 7 32 bit on a satellite click and it will always work to use the screen in the form of tablets?
I'll buy this one for my dental practice and the intraoral cam maintains that Win 7 32 bit.

Are you sure that it will not work with Windows 7? Usually there are problems with the software XP and Windows 7/8, but if it works with Windows 7 there is a good chance that it will work with Windows 8. If the software is the issue that you may be able to run the program in compatibility mode Windows 7.

  • Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9 may not resume from standby or hibernation with SP1

    Hello

    Details of the laptop: [my laptop: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook ie = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 131911]

I recently used Windows Update to install SP1 vista on my laptop, but since this installation I can't resume from standby or hibernation. (Service pack has successfully installed - according to Windows anyway).

At the resumption of his sleep, I get a blank screen.

    During the recovery from Hibernation, I receive a STOP error message: + Stop 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x82F11020, 0x9A9D9714, 0x00000000) + caused by * Classpnp.sys*.

After checking these forums, I have seen that Toshiba does not support SP1 + what is accurate? +

+ * If so when/how we will notify when Toshiba released a "patch" for compatibility Vista SP1? I'm guessing that via personnel TEMPO? *. +

Before installing SP1, I installed all the updates (from Microsoft and Toshiba) and had no problems; all the drivers are up to date.

Thanks for any answers in advance.

I guess that this happens because of a problem of compatibility between some pilots and SP1

    > After checking these forums, I saw that Toshiba does not support SP1 is that correct?
    Yes it's true.

    > If Yes, when and how will notify us when Toshiba released a "patch" for compatibility Vista SP1? I'm guessing that via personnel TEMPO?
I think that there should be information on the Toshiba driver page, support page or we will receive some information of Toshiba through applications of Tempo.

    We'll see
