Can I install windows xp pro on several computers then with the same product key?

I am the owner of a home-based business and I need to know if I have to buy several copies of a Windows xp pro, or can I use the same product key for all my computers.

It works this way:

A single license is a single Installation.

You can still buy XP from: online on newegg, amazon, etc. or try your local computer repair shop.

See you soon. Mick Murphy - Microsoft partner

  • HP desktop with 32-bit windows 7, can legally move to 64-bit with the same product key?

    Hi support them.

My scenario here is I have a few systems of HP Office under windows7 32-bit edition (version of windows by default), and now I need to upgrade to 64-bit windows 7 without getting a 64-bit win7 additional license, am I allowed to use the same product key on my 32-bit version to upgrade to 64-bit?

    Hello

Since this is a check of the product key OEM with HP Support for the media. You already have windows
Thus, it will be cheap. You can check that your system is running 64-bit at the same time.

  • Can I use 63-bit Win 7 Home base with the same product key that I used for 32 - bit?

1 I have win7 64 bit with licesence version hombasic. And now I use homebasic 32bits and 64bits format and install with the same key... So I jst want to know that this process can damage my computer laptop operating system? or there is no problem whatever I did!.

    Original title: Win7

Well, it will damage her, just that you will not run the 64-bit version, which means, if you have more than 4 GB of RAM installed, Windows 7 Home Basic 32 bit will not support it.

You should also check that the manufacturer of your computer is using 32-bit drivers for your computer.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

I have an older hard drive and a new on my computer, I installed windows over before hard disk, I bought another hd.

I would like to install the os on the new hd as well as the old hd, in the case of a failure of the system, is it possible?

You can't, it would be considered separate licenses and cause problems of product activation.

What you need to do, is keep Windows 7 installed on a single disc and create a backup of your system on an external hard drive to backup:

  • Activation of Windows 7 on an SSD with the same product key.

Original title: forget to disable Windows 7 key before moving.

Hello, here is my situation (I've seen another thread like this but I have more specific questions)

I have a laptop and it was the key to license Windows 7 Pro SP1.

I recently bought an ssd and learn all about meet the key but I guess I was happy to install the SSD so I forgot to Deauthorize the key.

I installed the SSD on the same computer laptop and use the same key to activate a few moments ago.

It seemed to have worked, but he's coming back to haunt me in the future? Or I'm good?

You could say that I activating me the part on the same physical machine and therefore, exercise was not necessary?

    Thank you

As long as the old hard drive is removed from the laptop, you should have no problem.

If you want to go a little further temporarily remove it the SSD drive, connect the hard disk, the boot of Windows (does not need to be connected to the Internet) and open a prompt (run as administrator) and quick entry:

slmgr - upk and press the Enter key

Wait a few seconds for the command to run, and then quit the command prompt.  The option - PUK uninstalls your product key from the hard drive.

Shut down the computer, remove the hard drive, install the SSD drive and your all ready for departure.

  • Can I install Windows 7 Pro on Windows 8 Pro Hyper-V with OEM Windows & Pro disc.

Can I install Windows 7 Pro on Windows 8 Pro Hyper-V with OEM Windows & Pro disc. I have a laptop windows Pro 8 and a lot of programs that I use is not compatible with 8. So, I enabled Hyper-V so that I can install Windows 7 Pro on the virtual machine, but I bought a bad DVD because it is an OEM. How can I can go about this.

If it's a Windows 7 Professional OEM System Builder License, Yes, it will work fine.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • Can I install Windows 8 Pro 64 bits with a 32-bit Windows 8 Pro license key?

I searched through the forum, it seems that there is no difference between 64-bit and 32-bit licenses. However, as I know suggested for 64-bit and 32-bit retail price are different. I get confused! If they are the same, then eveyone would buy a 32-bit and then install 64-bit... is it true? Your response is truly appreciated.

Yes, the product key works independently of the architecture (32- or 64-bit), so you can use the same product key used to activate 32-bit Windows 8 Pro with 64-bit Windows 8 Pro.
