Can I just get a Bluetooth COM port?

Hello

I just installed the battery Bluetooth and there are now many BT COM ports listed. They roll too COM ports, that I had already defined previously for other non-Bluetooth devices.

Just add BT COM ports if necessary?

Kind regards
Jonny

Hi Jonny

Sorry but I want to know what is the reason for asking this question? You have a problem with BT?

    You buy the product again.

The software comes with the key when you buy. You have not a
    choice.

    > I have windows 7 Home premium, but it can only be used on a single computer.

Right, the rule is quite clear. It is a copy (or a license) for
    each computer.

There is nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that has been in
effect on all versions of Windows from at least with Windows 3.1.

Then, unless you can find a lower price somewhere or you wish to fly,
    you're out of luck.

And why should he?  A cRIO is really another computer.  You expect your PC to see serial ports to another PC on your network?  No, you wouldn't.

If you really want the cRIO again the serial port of the PC communication, then you will have to apply on the PC that can communicate with the cRIO, usually over TCP/IP or network stream.

  • How can I create a USB Virtual COM Port

    Windows XP Professional / SP3 / 2002 Version

How do I create a virtual COM Port to USB, so I can run software applications of a Bus USB flash Drive?
The reason why I am eager to do it, is because I use an audio sequencer and it requires 1 GB of free disk space and at least 1 GB of RAM is recommended. My machine has 0.5 GB of RAM and a total of 6.55 GB of FREE space. My machine has a 256 MB RAM module and I bought another 256 MB RAM module. The manufacturer said that 512 MB of RAM is the maximum that can have my camera.
My goal is to buy a 4 GB Flash drive and use it to add RAM on my machine. I am also wanting to be able to run software applications that are installed in the USB Flash drive.
My basic goal is to install the DAW in the USB Flash drive and work with the program that is in the USB Flash drive, and I hope that will release of enough memory on my laptop.

    Hello

Unfortunately, you cannot use a USB flash as a substitute for the RAM drive.

  • read com ports with command-line through labview?

I'm trying to find a way to get a specific com port through the command via the command exec system prompt in labview. Is it possible to get the list of com port connections just like one you see in Device Manager where he will give the list the name of the device connected to a certain com port? I want to be able to automatically find the port com for a specific device.

because it is a virtual com port that gets set up and I tried the vi to find resources VISA and it did not work. However, funny enough, just after I submitted this post, I found the solution to my problem. If you use exec system and type this command in the standard input:

    WMIC path Win32_SerialPort

This will bring up a list of all com ports connected and very fast too. From there I can analyze the information I want and widdle down to the com of the desired usb device port.

Maybe this can help someone on the road.

  • COM ports

I know that when a device (serial or USB) is connected to a computer, the computer automatically assigns a COM port.

This assigned COM port never changes?
    If so, when?
For example, is the same port when you

    -Restart the computer?

    -disconnect and reconnect the device

-change of USB port, you plug the device in

    -etc.

Is there a way to check what devices are in what are COM ports programmatically?
I can manually look through the task or MAX Manager, but couldn't I do LabVIEW verify where the unit is?

Making the USB/RS-232 converters, it seems that when you plug in the device, the next available com port is assigned.  As long as you continue to connect the unit to the same USB port, it keeps the same number of com.  If you connect to a different USB port, it knows and give him as many COM next.  So what I do is to put in place the drivers and plug the unit into one by one into each USB port in a logical order.  That passing the com port is logical position rather than having COM3 in the com 4 back at the top right, com 5 forward, com 6 in the rear lower left corner because that was be the time of the order, I plugged it in different ports at random.

Then restart, disconnect reconnect, you get the same COM port.  Change USB port, you get a different COM port.

I don't know ways to check a program, and I think you might find ways by searching the forums.

  • How can I get the vi to wait for the user to select a COM port?

It is a problem when I run the application.  If the selected COM port is not currently connected to the material, then I get an error.  I can then select the COM port, rerun the application and everything is fine.  But I want the application to run when it is called by the user and wait until the correct COM port is selected.  I'll settle for any COM port selection and put the responsibility for the adequate selection on the user.  Thank you all.

Of course.  It works fine now.  Thanks MikeS81!

  • Virtual Com ports never get reused after UN-installing of software that use

I have install and uninstall the bluetooth drivers (Microsoft, broadcom and bluesoliel) in order to obtain different devices to work. When I started this exercise, used by bluetooth comm ports were low numbers (com 4 and 5 for example). If I uninstall the bluetooth drivers, then reinstall the or some other driver, the com port numbers used become com 6 and com 7).  Old ports com can never get reused and there seems to be any place where I can find them (and I hope that free them from their State of limbo).

Now that I've got things nearby work properly, I get to com 25.

This also happens with the bluetooth drivers not as my GPS through a series of USB converter. or my palm for synchronization software.

That is to say the problem is not just with bluetooth. It's with any program that uses a serial port.

I'm afraid I might run out of com ports, and perhaps these unused com ports consume resources (are they built during startup?)     Hmmmm... Looks like I ran out of space... Al

    Hi again
Well, I made a variation on your theme
1 turned on or plugged in devices that could use a virtual serial port - 3 of them
com 26 2 with one of them, I have attributed it to 25, then 24, etc. all the way up to 3 comm
That unlocks (disabled the use in indication) for all of the unused ports.

reassigned the 2 remaining ports to com 4 and 5

    Thanks for the help

  • Problem removing battery bluetooth / hidden devices / unpublished COM ports

    Hello
Having problem completely remove Toshiba Bluetooth stack / hidden devices / unpublished com ports

    I uninstalled Toshiba BT s/w...

    But:

    (1) peripheral BT Toshiba hidden appear again and I can not remove (get the error)

    (2) the COM ports occupied by Toshiba BT not out (so they cannot be used by another pile of BT) and always appear in the registry
ex: friendly name Toshiba BT Port (COM4) always in the registry

    (3) these new com ports do NOT appear in Device Manager

What COM ports are actually used (must be used) by your current system?

  • Why did my installation as a Bluetooth dongle card network, not as a COM port?

    Hello

I have been using a Bluetooth dongle to talk on a line series with an Arduino via Bluetooth.  When I plug my dongle to a computer, it has been installing the dongle on the ports COM 5 and 6 COM, which is exactly what I want.  But recently, when I plug it into a computer, it has been installing drivers and other things and he eventually set up as a "network card" and presents itself as a Bluetooth (Personal Area Network) device and the device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI).  The Bluetooth device does not appear in the list of the COM ports.  I have attached a picture of this.

Do you know why it is this way installing all of a sudden, and how I can get it to be recognized on the COM port?

    Thank you!
