Can I put my system 32-bit on a 64 bit system with disks of Windows 7?

My system is a 32-bit, but recently I bought a program that doesn't work with 64 bit systems... can I move from a 32-bit to a 64-bit with Windows 7 software CD or do I need a computer of the necessity? How do I if possible?

Yes you can. However to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, you need to perform a "Custom" / Clean install because there is no 'Upgrade' path. ".

This means until you save the data files (Documents, Photos, music, Etc.) on an external device. You will also need to reinstall your applications, search then the product key and installation media for each application that you have installed on your 32 bit OS before you start.

So backup any important data files (Documents, Photos, music, etc.) on an external drive or DVD before starting.

Run Belarc Advisor to list all the keycode with applications that you have installed...

Check the website of your manufacturing for 64-Bit drivers for Windows 7 download and burn it to a CD/DVD.

Print a copy of the Belarc report because it will help with not only your keycodes but also identifies device drivers.

  • Pavilion dv4: Windows 7 does not start and I can't access the system with f11 recovery

I use a Pavilion dv4. Windows just crashed on a blue screen with a message about physical memory dump. Now when I start the computer it will just a black screen with a blinking cursor to the place when windows normally should start. I can not access the system with the f11 key recovery. I went in with the f2 key diagnostic mode. Diagnostic tests except for the battery test that failed, but shouldn't the laptop to be able to run without a battery if it is connected? And besides, if the problem was the battery, the laptop wouldn't be able to turn on at all, no?

I'm not about to spend all that money on a battery just to know that it is not the battery.

    Hello

If you have the 64 bit rescue CD, you would have received an error if it was bad.

Once you have all your data backup, try the following - which means that Windows has been installed on the C Partition.

Boot from the new rescue CD, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart now.

  • Can WOL be a system with compression DRC?

I would like to know if it is possible to wake up a system with RDC (Remote Desktop Connection)

    I have x 2 system installation.
I can wake up the system with a 3rd party application of WOL. WOL setting should be correct.
I can connect remotely to the system 2nd with DRC, when the system is awakened (on)

Now that the 2nd system is dormant, or even offshore, I want to wake him up with DRC and not a 3rd party application.

DRC does not send the right signal 'wake-up', so no it is not possible, nor can it be made possible.

  • Satellite P200 - 1 K 9: can I put the Vista 64-bit.

    Hello

I was wondering if my p200 - 1 k 9 can be upgraded to the 64-bit version of Vista. I was told it will improve performance, but have been unable to find anywhere on the net, if I can indeed be upgraded or if there is no significant increase in performance to justify the cost.

I use my pc mainly for photo and video editing in Adobe production studio suite.

Thanks for your answers in advance
    Richard

    Hello

Why not??? Satellite P200 - 1 K 9 belongs to the series of PSPB6E and according to the page of Toshiba Europe, all Vista 64-bit drivers are available.

But I don't think you will see a performance gain by using a 64-bit version of Vista.
To be honest, I would Setup not 64-bit because of the compatibility problems with some 3rd party applications.

I have no experience with Vista 64 bit, but with XP 64 bit version and I can tell you that I had a lot of problems with my 3rd software because it was designed for 32 bit OS.

But finally it s your own decision

  • My friend has a PC with Windows XP 64 - bit OS. Can I put his system to Vista using my 32-bit recovery disc?

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: have tried the normal method of reinstall by putting in the recovery disk, shut down the PC, then turning back on, but it didn't work, so now here ask for ideas on how this is possible.

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

No, the recovery disk you is specially designed for your computer and the product activation key will not work for a long time or not at all.

Your friend needs to buy a version of 'Upgrade' the Windows Visa or Windows 7.

  • I can't put the system restore at any point, nor the desire, it set a new restore point, error box - another restore is in progress and me stops dead.

I am running windows Vista Home Basic; 32-bit.  Norton 360 anti virus; ALSO I can not uninstall all ADOBE programs, error says cannot locate
%AppData%, critical then an error screen after another.  I'm agree with getting rid of most of the old files and users to start all over again, windows was on the computer when I bought it. Help

I'm glad you're running properly again!

And have nothing to do with registry cleaners, you've discovered.

As you say, make regular data backups, and if something bad happens, you always have to fall back on recovery.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer and help others here.

  • I can't put the photoshop CS6 as default program to open jpg files on my windows 7 64 bit computer?

I reintalled 3 times for CS6, but the default program associated with the jpg file is always unknown application.

I try to change the default program, I see the photoshop cs6 icon in the Adobe program folder.

    But just can be selected.

I recommend you contact Support Adobe for this playing with registry is very dangerous, that your computer may crash.

Still if you want to try, first create system restore point and backup of your registry, just in case something goes wrong.

In regedit: go to Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications and find your .exe name.

Sail under its name of shell > open > order. In the default change its location to the actual location of the executable file, press OK and then try and reassociate the file type as you normally would.

You are right. At the moment there is no support for Vista 64-bit, but it will be supported in the future. I phoned with guys from Toshiba which cares about notebooks in my company. He told us that Vista 64-bit support should begin this summer.

We'll see when drivers will be available on the support page.

I am trying to open a business and I want to be able to establish a system where I can stream movies from the DVD of 10 or more to 10 or more different TVs, just change channels with the remote control of the tv only. Is this possible. Or maybe a computer software might do the trick.

  • Can I put some PFI ports on the same line for use with counters and leave the rest as static DIO? (USB-6218-USB)

I only need a port of each line for the use of the PFI and want to use the rest for the digital I/o. Before you complete the design of the circuit and test it myself, I would like to check it out. I can't find the answer in the textbooks, either.

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hello Ben,

If you use all the PFI lines you can use the rest as DI/O. PFI0, 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11 are entered digital and PFI 4,5,6,7,12,13,14,15 outputs digital. Another technique you can use is to create a spot on the measurement and Automation Explorer, if it allows you to create it, then it is possible.

  • want to do a restore system with disks, but does not I need HELP!

I am eager to the system recovery on my HP computer I have discs of recovery system 1 and 2 and the extra recovery disk. but when I put in the drive of the installation wizard is not coming and I don't know how to run, I made the recovery for anw had the windows installed so my computer was as good as new once again, but this time it does not work I need help please! Thanks in advance

Looks like you are trying to run the Windows recovery. You don't want to do. BTW, please make sure that you have backed up your data on external media because after a destructive restore full factory all of your own files will be gone.

So let's try and start the computer from the recovery discs, you did. Place 1 disc in your drive and restart the computer. When you start your computer, you will see a message that says something like "Press Esc for Boot Menu". Press this function key. Then use your key to select your CD/DVD drive, press ENTER, and the HP system recovery process will begin. Use the advanced option to make the complete factory restore.
