Can I re-use the product key of Windows 7 on my machine after downgrading?
Someone gave me a desktop computer with the original Windows 7 which has been downgraded to XP. I used it until the end of Windows XP support. My question is can I reuse the product key of Windows 7 on the machine and put Windows 7 on? Activation will fail and I would put Windows 7 for nothing?
It works perfectly, yes you can do it. But to put Windows 7 on it, you will need to use either
(A) the original Windows 7 OEM disc provided with this computer
or
(B) recovery partition integrated guidelines of the manufacturer to restore the original Windows 7 OS
--
The reason is that the product key on the computer is linked to this kind of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer, like Dell or Acer). If you cannot use any Windows 7 CD-ROM drive with this code. It must be the disk or installer that came with this code.

Can I re-use the product key sticker cost?
Hello, the key to the sticker on the side of my computer are recoverable for reinstallation on the same computer?
I just got a new hp computer and right when I turned it on it was loaded with junk. So I went to DigitalRiver and got a copy of the 64-bit Windows7 home premium. When I installed it it ask for the product key because I gave him the key OEM (FG 4, 99 - BC3HD-*-*-*) and it does not work, so I jumped it. Later, I went into my PC and received the sticker product key, which differs from the oem one and it works. It is, if im going to to reinstall Windows 7 (the digitalriver) it will work if I use the sticker product key yet?
Hello
The PK on the COA sticker will work again; This is your license OEM to reuse again on the same machine
Read this information
The product key on the COA sticker on your machine is the correct product key to use to reinstall it with a windows 7 downloaded the ISO file.
The PK found in the pre-installed operating system is the PK that is used on many machines during factory production.
By using the downloaded ISO file method may require phone Activation however.
If it does require phone activation, do not follow Demand of Auto, but brace yourself for a real person explain as to what has been done for purposes of re-setup

I have an old Acer (3 yrs Old) computer that has win 7 Home Pre. installed. The computer died and is no longer functional. Can I use the key I want to re - format and install Windows 7 on another computer?
Not on computers preinstalled
The activation key belongs to the Assembly of the computer if it shows a tag oem on the bottom or the side of the case.
If you have a lot of detail with an activation key and dvd it might work
Enter the key here and see if M$ offers a download of the iso in your language

How do I stop using the product key in my PC, so I can use it in my laptop?
A long time ago I had installed Windows Vista (original) on my PC at home. But now I m leaving in another city and I m just using my laptop. I received a message through the Windows Activation (¨The product key you typed is already use¨) and two options: buy a new online or type a different product key. I Don t want to buy anything and I Don t have a different product key. So, how can I stop using the product key in my PC (which i Don t use it!), so I can type in my laptop? Maybe uninstall Windows in my PC could solve the problem, but I Don t want to travel back home 7 hours for this! What can I do now?
PS. : Sorry about my English, I m still learning!

Your English is very good.
You simply need to activate Windows in the laptop by phone call at a command prompt, type slui 4.
You * must * also to remove Windows from your desktop computer, but if it is to wait a few moments, it shouldn't be a problem.

I need to reformat my laptop Acer Aspire 5520, but Acer WON'T provide me with the disks required to do... so my question is this; How can I reformat without having to buy a new drive for Windows Vista? I went to the site of the Acers and downloaded all the drivers, applications, and the bios, but I can't find anywhere on Windows. Can anyone help?
Thank you in advance for your help!Hello
It s no vista for free and legally download
with an acer you never drives with him press Alt + F10 when you see the Acer start at startup screen
who should begin the process of recovery back to factory settings
Acer has do provide you with a way to reinstall vista, either way or a recovery (Alt + F10) on your disk partition hard or using recovery discs
and read this:
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

My computer crashed and now I have to put in my product key for microsoft. The only problem is that 2 of the numbers/letters have rubbed off and I can't read them. What should I do?
Original title: product key
Option 1:
If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.
Option 2:
If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.
Option 3:
If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

I have toshiba laptop and I have the product key and I do not know what windows is I can find it with the product key or any body help, I can't use it
You must order a set of recovery disc for the computer from the manufacturer - this will install the appropriate drivers for your system automatically, as well as packaged applications.
If you have not formatted the disk (or replaced) existing partition recovery may still be present - see your manual for details.
It is possible to download Vista - see here for more details - http://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/57-windows-vista-direct-download-links -, but note that it is not a simple process!

Failed to load XP on the same computer using the product key on the case of the CPU.
I uninstalled XP and tried to load Window 7 s. had driver problems. Let down. Now I can't reinstall XP on the same computer using the product key on the case. I get a message "invalid Key". It's a Dell PC 6 years, if that matters.
As I said, you will need the manufacturer's recovery disk, or disk OEM System Builder.
Do you have which drive tried to use?
You may be able to borrow a disk OEMSB from a friend - or you may be able to order the Dell recovery disks (they are cheap).

I have a disc of "Window7 Holiday Home Edition". I got it on my laptop. But the broken laptop. Can I put on my laptop, using the "Product Key" that used it on the laptop.
original title: product keyI have a disc of "Window7 Holiday Home Edition". I got it on my laptop. But the broken laptop. Can I put on my laptop, using the "Product Key" that used it on the laptop.
Sorry, but there is no such thing as «Window7 Holiday Home Edition» This is the ultimate. Home Basic or Home Premium.
He intervenes, it it is preinstalled on your laptop and the laptop died, the license to use, he died with him. It cannot be moved to another computer.
Preloaded is an OEM version and the biggest drawback of an OEM version (at least in the USA) is that its license it permanently binds to the computer first it is installed on. He can never legally be moved to another computer, sold, or given to outside (except with the original computer). If the computer dies or is stolen, your license dies with him.
