Can I reinstall my Vista program if it was preinstalled before sale?

Bought E Machine in 2008 with Vista preinstalled.  Best Buy has recommended to install 2 antivirus which proved that the slowdown in the computer. Currently at 100% CPU usage which is inexplicable.  I was informed that reinstall completely is my only option.  Can I do this without the E Machine original discs? Please don't ask why; He is a brother-in-law of the roadie who's an alcoholic and like firearms.  Obviously is not helpful to the disks.  Once done I can improve the Vista to 8?

Hello

Never have 2 AVs installed, they conflict with each other.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of REPLACEMENT recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • What can I reinstall/upgrade Vista Ultimate OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate 64-bit using the upgrade CD that I bought?

Please help me with the steps I must follow to upgrade/reinstall my Vista Ultimate OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  I bought the upgrade CD, but I keep reading that I can't upgrade, I have to re - install.  How do, or have I just wasted my money?

    Thank you

    David

The two DVD come in the box of Vista Ultimate.  The same upgrade key works for both.  The procedure is to let the 32-bit version on the hard drive for the verification of license and a custom installation will work.  The hardware hash will be the same and the product key is the same for the activation servers to happen anyway as a repair installation.

I am selling my old laptop HP 6820 s to put the money to another and the main problem is that the original hard disk having bad sectors that prevent me from reinstalling Windows Vista Professional using the recovery disk. I was wondering if I bought a new hard drive of the same size and type, I was able to reinstall Windows Vista Business on it, especially since I still have the original key on the laptop itself.

If the hd meets the specification, you should be able to install using the recovery discs.

    Hi Jeff,

After 3-4 days, the other apps has had an update. After the update, all of a sudden I could install bridge CC. Go figure. But it's working now.

Uninstall and reinstall is not obvious or easy with Creative cloud, and I was hoping for the boxed version where I had control over things like this unstead of spending hours doing Google searches and chatting with technical support. I had not activated the software or even he launched before uninstalling.

As I said, it works now. But it must be an easier process!

iformate my windows vista, where can I find it is basic on my computer? Please someone tell me >

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer (if you have not destroyed it when formatting)..

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

I need to put vista on my new laptop after that I screwed up the system and I wonder the code number bar that is stuck on the bottom. Unfortunately, some faded and I can't read it.

    Hello

The way around this if you ever have to reinstall the operating system is to contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send you recovery disks to reinstall the operating system. They should send records for a small fee.

While you are in contact with the manufacturer of the laptop also ask them if there is a way to reinstall the operating system on a recovery partition on the hard drive of your laptop, allowing you to save money.

You can also make the recovery partition recovery discs if you have never received a DVD of recovery; Ask the manufacturer about how do.

None of these recovery procedures normally means that you have to insert a product key as factory Setup key is automatically used to activate this process.

    See you soon.
