Can I renovate Vista on the machine to win 8?

My new laptop runs Windows 8, and I would like the option to slot Vista instead. I understand that I can create a new partition and install Vista on it, but that Win8 will then not work until I have reinstall. The recovery disk I can create in Win8 will reinstall it when Win8 does not work?

It should work, but the problem you see even Vista drivers available for this purpose? That could be a big problem and make use of Vista on the terrible machine. It would be best to run Vista Windows 8 on top with a program like Oracle VirtualBox virtual machine.

    Hello

Hmm, looks like the laptop cannot restore the operating system from the recovery image
To be honest I'm not very well why this error pops up but eventually it s m related to the new HARD drive installation.

Perhaps, you can format the HARD drive again using a clean Microsoft Windows CD (Win XP, etc.).
Boot from the CD of Win and format the HARD drive.
Then go to the recovery disk, boot from the recovery disc and try reinstalling the operating system

Your best bet is probably to contact support directly and explain the situation.  You are certainly not the first to always face this situation so they must be able to work with you to solve it.

I have only the original vista coded key stuck on the computer when the vista system installed on the purchase of the computer. My daughter was not happy with vista and had someone to install windows 7, which turned out to be an illegal version.

    Hello

If you have a recovery partition likely has been cleared by installing Windows 7.

You can try the recovery partition, no guarantees.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/contacthp?LC=en&DLC=en&cc=au

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Authentication of the machine does not work after the night of workplace surveillance ovr - ISE - 1.1.1

I'm running an ISE 1.1.1 patch 2 and authetntication machine Windows XP using PEAP authentication with authentication computer and user.

The issue is that when a machine is powered on fine machine authentication processes and the user authentication is successful. The problem is that, after that the machine is connected to the left and left unattended for may hours I am bounced in a guest VLAN - ISE newspapers say that they can validate is no longer the machine has been authenticated via AD. If the user reboots the computer, he is well again.

Are there timers in AD or the machine that are hot flushes the status of RADIUS: WasMachineAuthenticated? Can someone tell me if there is a recommended configuration when the machine authentication is maintained throughout a work day or night?

    Hello rcianci.

You experience this problem because of your authorization rule "WasMachineAuthenticated." This process (aka MAR - Machine access restrictions) occurs only when a computer is restarted or powered. Once the expiration of the timer to MAR the machine authentication fails until it is restarted again.

Here are two ways you can try to tackle this problem:

    1. I used MAR in the past and:

    a. set the timer for 168 hours (1 week)

    b. educated users that they must restart their machines per week

It worked 'OK' but it's still irritating to the end users. It can also cause problems if you do that for cable and because the MAC address will change and ISE/ACS will not see the new authenticated as mac address, which requires the user to perform another reboot

    2. a better way to be rid of MAR all together. If you want to keep things simple, you can just use PEAP machine based authentication using the credentials of the machine. It's not always ideal, but if your ad is correctly locked where only certain users can join computer to a domain then you should be good to go. However, if you want to continue to use the machine + user you will need to look at something a little more complex such as EAP-chaining.

I hope that this help... Let me know if you have any other questions

    Thanks for the note!

  • To access the machines by VPN

    Hi all

I've established a connection VPN between PIX515 6.3 and a VPN Client 4.6, connection up without problem.

But now, how can I have access to the machines installed inside the box? (for example, using remote desktop)

I tried with a vpn address pool (outside) and private (inside) address, but I cannot access these machines.

Please, I have to do to get access? What about Alberto Brivio

    Hello alberto,.

The client's IP address of the pool? If Yes, is the IP pool on a different subnet than the segment inside?

In this case, you must do the following:

    (1) has no nat for traffic from inside the pool of intellectual property.

    NAT (inside) 0 access-list sheep

    access-list allowed sheep ip 192.168.1.1 host 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0

where 192.168.1.1 is the server the access of end-users and 10.1.1.0/24 is the IP pool

    (2) If you have a list of inside access, allow access between the LAN and the IP pool.

Try these and let us know...

  • Vista can ping machine to another, but cannot access shared folders on the machine

    Hi experts,

Recently, we have problems with some Vista machines to access shared folders on other Vista machines. This seems to happen after the automatic updates of windows.

These 'problem' machines are able to ping other machines 'good' but is unable to connect to shared folders machines 'good '.

The reverse works fine ('good' machines can ping and access 'problem' machines).

When you connect to folders shared of these 'problem' to 'good' machines machines using \\machinename\folder or even \\machine_ip\folder, the error window "the network location cannot be reached" appears.

'Problem' machines can do desktop connection remote for the machines 'good '.

All machines have the parameters: -.

    Same workgroup

    Same domain - private network

    Network discovery on

    File sharing on

    Public folder sharing

    Password protected sharing

I am not able to find a solution on the web site and microsoft.

Re-install Vista on 1 machine of 'problem' and the problem goes away.

The problem with reinstalling is subject to re-registration of certain software licenses which has no registration online (through applications for certificates).
Is there a resolution without having to re - install Vista?

  • Can I use Vista Upgrade product key on the SAME machine?

I upgraded my Vista Home Premium to XP media Center computer, and now my computer runs very slowly.  I have 1 GB of RAM, but isn't enough for Aero?  So... what I really do is to perform a new installation to refresh my computer, but I can do after already using my key product upgrade once? (Now I have an external HARD drive to back up my data... I didn't when I upgraded).  The new facility will be used with the same upgrade DVD and product key, and it will be used on the SAME machine.  This is allowed, or vista become inactive and I lose Vista completely?

Yes you can reinstall Windows Vista by using the Windows Vista Upgrade activation disk works perfectly. Make sure you have your 25-digit product key.

Also, make sure that you have installed once are not dual boot.

My advice is that you bring a new installation with Service Pack 1 disc as shown here:

Follow the instructions for installation, as in this case:
Please note that the guide is basis of Dell, F12 can be a different key on your machine and you need to get your site system drivers from your computer manufacturer Web but most of the others in the guide apply to all windows based computers.
  • Cannot install network printer on Windows 7. Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver. All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions? How can I fix it?

Cannot install network printer on Windows 7.  Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver.  All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions?  How can I fix it?
Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.
