Hello

Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7 to see if you can install Windows 7 on your Toshiba:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

http://support.Toshiba.com/drivers

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

    I have a laptop of Lenovo G570 4334 43344JU. It has a Pentium Intel B940 2.0 GHz processor,

Conditioning LGA1155, Chipset ID 1 49. And the HARD drive is a HITACHI 320 GB SATA II 2.5 INCH HTS543232A7A384.

Windows 7 Ultimate is installed on this computer.

I want to replace the HARD drive by an Intel SSD 240 GB. Is it possible to replace only the current with HARD drive

for example, an Intel 530 240 GB internal 2.5 inch Solid State Drive without changing the other hardware components such as the drive controller?

    Hi lor1cal,

    Welcome to the Forums.

Yes, it is possible to replace the stock 2.5 "SATA HDD to a 2.5" SATA SSD.

To put you on the SSD, you can:

1 clone stock HDD to the SSD with Paragon Backup & Recovery Home 12 (free trial) or:

    2. perform a clean installation on the SSD using a Windows 7 bootable disc. If you do not have a bootable media and you only have a license key, you can get a Windows 7 ISO on this Web site. To create a bootable USB key, see this guide.

    Hope this helps

  • Can I replace Vista by XP on Satellite U205-S5057

I have a U205-S5057 and it came with Vista on it. I got it at the Best Buy store where I bought it and asked them to put Windows XP on it.

They said it was impossible because my laptop would lose all internet capabilities so I put XP on it and it might lose my entire hard drive.

    They are correct?

Is it possible to replace Vista with XP on my laptop successfully? (I have an installation disc for XP that came with another laptop I have, but the drive does not work on the laptop compatible Vista.)

To be honest, I can't believe why some laptop dealers unqualified provides these erroneous and misleading information
Of course, you can install Windows XP on your laptop.

All drivers XP and tools are on the Toshiba page.
This laptop seems to be an American series and this is why you should use the Toshiba page for the download of the driver!

    Visit this link:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

First you need to download the driver on the net, and then you could reinstall Win XP on this unit.

I think you must first include the SATA drivers in the installation of Win XP because of the SATA HDD controller. The SATA drivers are needed to recognize the HARD drive during the installation of XP.

    Good bye

  • How can I remove Vista and replace it with XP on a Dell laptop without losing my partition to factory?

Vista has conflicts and no current update on my laptop and the mouse keyboard, so it is erratically. Since an upgrade of Vista has been added to my laptop, it has been in place. The cursor seems to have a mind of its own and I can't change the mouse settings. There is not an update to Vista since the device mouse or keyboard. After countless hours of lost looking for a solution, I decided to give up the garbage of Vista and I refuse to pay more money for the upgrade to Windows 7. So I want to go back to XP, but I can not install XP with the installation disc that came with the laptop. It stops the installation and tells me that I have a newer version of Windows. What I read, I have to do a clean install, but I want to do, so I do not lose the hidden partition that has been installed by Dell. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've used Windows years but this abortion of Vista is too heavy for me. And it's like cancer, I can't seem to get rid of it! Time to think about a Mac soon, I guess.

A clean install will go to the C:\ drive and does not affect your partition recovery disk D:\ (as long as you tell him installed on C:\ assuming the disk that is the drive of the current system and disk D:\ is the recovery disc).  Note that, with a clean install you will lose all your data (everything on the partition - not everything on the disc if it has more than one partition) then you should backup your data first.

Here is more information on the operation of a clean install: http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_install_03.asp.

Frankly, I would transfer this question in Forum Windows Update: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads where the people who specialize in Windows Update issues will be more than happy to help you with your problem.  Perhaps, it can be fixed without the need to resort to the downgrading to XP (and these people would be able to help as best as we).

Keep in mind that Mac have their own set of problems - different from Windows, but they are not without problems (and you probably have some software that works with Windows and it would be a shame to lose that).  You just need to help solve your problem (or, if you wish, to return to XP which is probably more stable than Vista).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck! Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

can I replace nvidia graphics card quadro4000m with nvidia gtx hp 690 z1 all-in-one for better graphics performance?

    Hello

The 690 NVIDIA is only a 'chimera' at the moment.  We'll see what happens after the rumor launched as of April 28.

Open the Z1 HP if you have a look at available power connectors and also note the size of the power supply.  The Z800 with 875 watt POWER supply can operate according to the available power connectors.

    Hello

Is it possible to replace my DVD drive with an SSD with a HARD Drive Caddy?

My laptop is a Toshiba Tecra R950-104.

    Kind regards

    Luis

    Hello

I found on the internet some UltraSlim SATA HDD/SSD mounting frame that allow the use of 2nd 2.5 HDD/SSD drive instead of ODD in Notepad Tecra R950 but to be honest I m not 100% sure if the BIOS recognize such additional device.

I know that computers Toshiba laptop (Portege and Tecra) series different takes in charge these updates in the past but this replacement was not supported by each laptop model.

It depends on the BIOS and in the event that the BIOS recognize the 2nd HDD/SSD drive, the system should be able to recognize 2nd HARD drive

  • 'Upgrade' replace Vista with 7?

Hi, I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP Pavilion dv5-1138TX. Recently, I ran the auditor to update windows 7 and it said everything was cool to use the option 'upgrade' (rather than the 'custom' option) upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium - that I am looking to buy through the student offer on atm. My issue with this 'upgrade' option, is that he completely crushes Vista. I don't want to have the choice of still using vista, or to have both running on my system at the same time. I want just Windows 7. 'Upgrade' completely crushes Vista with Windows 7? Thanks for your help, Dale

I can play my xbox one through my Toshiba laptop, I have windows 8. I tried to connect my xbox to my laptop via a HDMI cable and no picture came on my laptop to my xbox one screen. you wonder how to do this job.

would appreciate help on how to do this thanks.

As far as I know that something like this is not possible. HDMI port is for output only. You cannot send the audio and video signal to your laptop using the HDMI port and use the internal display for external devices.

  • Satellite A200 - how to replace Vista with XP?

I received a Satellite A200, because the owner was heartily sick of Windows Vista which came installed on it. Everything I have heard talk about Vista convinces me that I don't want to have anything to do with it. In addition to my wife - who will use the computer, serves to XP and wants to continue to use it.

After a day and a half looking for instructions on how to get the A200 to boot from a CD on which SATA drivers required as well as the files of XP installation disc was compiled AND burn 4 CD, I can't always get things working!

Please... surely someone in the Toshiba Land has successfully dealt with this problem before! Guess I'll try tomorrow, but some help would be appreciated of course.

    Hi spktrm,.

Yes, you re right and you must integrate the SATA drivers in the XP installation disc. Therefore, you will need to download the Intel Storage Manager driver package that contains this SATA driver you need. Here in the forum there is already an article interesting how to proceed:
[How to integrate the AHCI SATA driver during the installation of Windows XP? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=38]

Alternative you can install XP without this driver if you change the HARD drive in the BIOS from AHCI Compatible. Then, you use the normal Microsoft Windows XP disk. ;)
