• Can create manual snapshot, but VDR can't create a suspended snapshot

  If I go into the Snapshot Manager, I can create a snapshot (System Quiesce invited selected file) all day, but VDR keeps giving me the cannot create a snapshot hanging on the same server error.  I went through all the stuff for this KB.  Is there something different in the way that VDR creates a snapshot from do it manually to the virtual machine?

  If you disable the memory status and check the comments of quiesce file system option during an attempt of instant manual then it will mimic the operation of snapshot which initiates the VDR.  If, as you have indicated that always work a manual snapshot, but not in the VDR initiates, try the following:

  (1) the operation of manual snapshot as described above.

  (2) if the instant manual successfully, then immediately open the plugin VDR and trigger a manual backup of the virtual machine.  If the backup fails with instant failure, get the logs of the VDR (KB 1012282) device and open a SR

  (3) if the manual backup is successful, then it might be a matter of resource conflict when the backup window is opened as part of the operation of backup... maybe the ESX newspapers may provide a clue.

• ESX3i - can I remove snapshots from the console/command line?

  In ESX3i remove an instant expansion of the VI Client takes too long the client times out and appears to block all connected VI customers.  Is it possible that I can delete the snapshots of the console (not supported)?

• Can I replicate folders of e-mail between devices

  I have several devices and use the e-mail and use gmail with an IMAP account.  I don't use gmail webmail.

  On my MBA, I created several folders so I can store emails specific to particular topics.  However, once I moved an email in the Inbox MBA in a folder, if I try to find the email on another device (iMac or iPad), it isn't here.  If I get on the second device, it shows no more.

  Is there anyway that I can replicate these folders of email on all my devices so that if I move an email in my Inbox to a folder, then it appears in this folder on all devices?

  It looks like you created the local mailbox that does not synchronize with devices. Try to create the mailboxes under the account rather than on my Mac. They will be IMAP mailboxes and must synchronize between devices.

• How can I write snapshot of my data to the file measured every 5 seconds

  I try to take a snapshot of my stream once every 5 seconds and write it to a. File LVM. I have problems with the VI "write to a measurement file. The pace at which it writes data to the file seems to be dictated by the 'Samples to Read' parameter in the DAQ assistant. I tried placing the VI 'Write in a file measure' within a business structure and the launch of the structure to deal with a "time up" VI. As a result only in a delay of 5 seconds before the insiders 'Write in a file as' VI. Once the VI 'Write in a file as' is launched, it starts writing at 20 x per second. Is there a way to change it or dictate how fast the exicutes VI 'Write in a file measure'?

  My reason for slowing down the write speed are, 1) reduce space occupied by my data file. (2) reduce the cycles of CPU use and disk access.

  The reason why I can't increase the value of 'Samples to Read' in the DAQ Assistant (to match my requirement to write data), it's that my VI will start to Miss events and triggers.

  I don't know I can't be the only person who needs high-frequency data acquisition and low-frequency writing data on the disk? However, I see a straight road to key in before that.

  The equipment I use is a NI USB DAQ 6008, data acquisition analog voltage to 100 Hz.

• How can I offer snapshot of the replication of merger on DVD or memory stick?

  I'll explain my setup in short.

  I have 2 k 8 R2 enterprise edition Editor. & Subscriber with the express edition.

  in the express edition agent is not present then how can I generate a snapshot & how I update on serverside (i.e. Publisher) because I pull subscription request synchronization setup & update data using utility 'replmerg.exe '.

  so my question is if data are updated aside subscribed & there is a problem of poor connectivity. so, how is it possible to deliver the snapshot replication on stick?

  With the help of ESXi 4.0.0 build 171294

  I have a virtual machine with a number of snapshots that became very large (rookie mistake I know). Finally, missed data store.

  Delete all the snapshots of the apparently successful Snapshot Manager but has not not any space free, and watching the VM directory via ssh show the delta files always there.

  I tried following the instructions in http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC & externalId = 1007849

  but the I am always left with a complete and all data store the remaining delta files.

  I also tried renaming the file .vmsd and create another snapshot as suggest in this slideshow:

  After remove it all the snapshots returned instantly, of course, not doing any consolidation.

  1. Is there an any hope of consolidating these shots?
  2. If this is not possible, there is a way to roll back all the way to the original disk file?
  3. Update the firmware of ESXi at this stage would help?

  According to the vmdk files, the virtual disk of 250 GB is thin provisioned. Please take a look in the browser of data store to see the current size of the virtual disk. Commit a snapshot to a thin provisioned disk can consume additional disk space (which you do not have).

  can someone tell me if it doesn't matter what other product can branch out instant as does the workstation? vSphere/ESXi?

  Snapshots work exactly the same on both platforms - in fact you can even exchange between platforms - if you know what you're doing.

  Only difference: in my computer, creating branches and trees has kind of intuitive and straight forward.
  On ESXi, you can do the same thing but the GUI is much less sophisticated and you need more steps to acchieve the same.

• How can I replicate this TV analog warping effect on the text?

  

  I tried to use the deformation of the puppet, but the creation of additional points seems to give no natural curves "kinks" that do not correspond to the effect that I am trying to achieve.

  I also see a kind of duplicate the effect happening, with a second "blackout" that kind of fate from the top, but I'm less worried about it. I was wondering how to get this kind of deformation. Can anyone help?

  It is feasible, but needs a bit of user input.

  Stretching of the text without blocking the Rails at the top and bottom to the top is the first problem, but you can get round that with content aware scale.

  1. Fixed the text and the pixelation.
  2. Drag the rectangular selections on the bottom and at the top of the text and save the selection.  (I should probably slip a third selection around the cross bar 'B').
  3. Select all > Content Aware scale > Protect in the Options bar, and then choose the selection that you have saved.  Stretch the text.
  4. Now just bend fluidly, adjusting the brush size and pressure in function.  (I tried other options, but fluidity was the only one which does not soften the edges.)

  I would say pretty close to your original.

  

• Can not remove snapshot

  In a previous thread, I mentioned problems with Storage vMotion (http://communities.vmware.com/thread/214222) and verification of stereotypes has been proposed. One of my virtual machines had a snapshot, so I went to delete with the Manager of snapshots at the VIC. However the operation never completed and showed the error message 'Operation timed' out after being stuck at 95% for a few minutes. I tried again to remove the snapshot because he was still appear in the Snapshot Manager. Now when I try to delete the ir I get this message: "the request refers to an objexct that no longer exists, or never existed."

  Any ideas?

  When remove you the snapshot, you are actually 'commit changes', this could be a lengthy process, depends on how the changes were there.

  Virtual Center will give you "opération Timeout" error 15 minutes by "default."

  This does not mean that the operation will not end. Just give it time, it takes sometimes hours to complete.

  The Board of Directors for the deletion of the snapshot from research, and there are many of us who have encountered this, including me.

  It is completed then and you'll see not snapshot in the Snapshot Manager, files related to the snapshot is deleted in the VM folder also

• Compellent snapshot for the passive copy of the database Exchange 2010

  Hi all

  I have the following Setup: A DAG with 3 Exchange 2010 mailbox servers, two of them are in the main data center and have the databases and the logs on the local storage. However, the third server is on a Data Center remote for disaster recovery and data bases, and newspapers is the Compellent storage. Of course, because it's my disaster recovery site, the database is a passive copy. However, the Replay 7.1.1.1 Manager Explorer is unable to see data in the section "Exchange shops". But if I turn the databases on this server, and then Replay Manager is able to see. My question is, how can I create snapshots of the passive copy of the database from my Exchange 2010 Server?

  I confirmed that Replay Manager cannot do that; the reason? Dag have a database and are essentially sending for updating the passive copies of newspapers. Since they are not online and synchronizes the DAG status between servers backup will always attempt to occur on the asset. If only one of your copies of DAG is on an HDS, it will be a more serious problem.

  There is no restriction not to take a replay on passive volume all - except the same caveat that it will be not a quiece at the level of the BONE and being written in the log transactions is not valid. Unlike earlier versions of Exchange IS simply reject these that he committed the paper to the data store (if you try to mount the reading disaster).
