Can I run Windows 98 SE on my modern machine?

Hey microsoft!

I wonder: can I use Win98SE (not yet uploaded) on my modern PC? (Not so modern, 6-7 years)

I have no floppy drive, but I have dual boot Vista and 7. I installed vista from a program that has made my bootable USB key.

I think this may mean something to you:

CPU: Intel Pentium dual core E2200 2.20 GHz

2 GB memory (long live RAM)

2 * 128 GB hard drives (used for Vista, 1 7 and I have plan: 1 for Vista and one for 98 SE)

nVidia GeForce 8400GS 1 GB graphics

No floppy drive, I intend to install on USB 8 GB if possible.

Hello

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if 98SE drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop or the manufacturer if you built it yourself.

If this is not available, 98SE will not properly work for you.

For example, there is not available for your graphics card drivers 98SE.

  • This PC can't run windows 10

This PC can't run windows 10
There is no supported network devices

I have the same problem, I can't believe only two of us have the same problem

I want to upgrade to windows 10 Windows 7

perhaps I misunderstood the message that I can get on the internet and the use of a wireless adapter belkin to connect to the internet is there a way around this problem

could someone from microsoft or the microsoft community help

    Robert

Please, take a breath and describe your problem in detail and in order.

I see that you have a computer running Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit?  Which edition?) at the moment and you want TO upgrade to Windows 10.  For example, so that you can properly work your mind around it - a few questions...

    Are you ready to upgrade?

How are your backups?  Made sure your consistent data (just the things important to you) backups are working correctly and can be restored from?

What your support installation and key product / series number backups - all that sorted and easily accessible?

Have you checked, while visiting with the manufacturer of your system and the manufacturers of the software, you use most on your computer, all what you have/use/want to use are supported by said manufacturer with 10 windows and discovered that, instead, you need to do to continue the use of a stringer of such things after the upgrade?

Some device drivers upgraded, you need to download?

    A software patch?

Uninstall the software before upgrading to Windows 10 and install it once the upgrade is complete?

You have refined a method of execution to a COMPLETE PICTURE of the right SYSTEM backup before you start the upgrade? After all the upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 7/8.1 could be likened to move coverage while stand you on it - so it is quite complex and has its risks.  Backup offline during the upgrade (and external) media image full system is a VERY good backup plan in case something goes wrong or - you don't like it.

You might even want to clean this system some current, make sure * it * is as healthy as it could be before attempting to upgrade.  An efficient and up-to-date system is more likely to result in a smoother experience for an upgrade is as broad as this...  You could look through this previous conversation where I suggested someone clean up their system before the upgrade:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-update/scheduling-the-upgrade-to-Windows-10-not-working/13e88e85-2919-4e20-847E-94073e48090c

Some links that would be different from those in the above suggested cleanup link - if you have WIndows 7 and not Windows 8.1 (and want to do the same cleanup)...

    Disk Cleanup: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/818-disk-cleanup-open-use.html

    SFC/scannow: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

    Defragment: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11733-disk-defragmenter-open-use.html

    When you think you're ready...

Use the page web media creation tool to kick off your upgrade.

The big take away there are: the device drivers, software updates and BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!

You could even make a full image backup of your current system and CLEAN install Windows 10 using your product key Windows 7/8.1 (from - likely - your product key on your machine sticker) and start completely cleaned with 10 Windows - install everything you want or need and restore your personal/etc of your latest files backups of files/folders (not the picture of the system.)

Then, if things do not work on (pilot devices, software, etc.), you can use the system image backup to restore State "pre-fact-anything that it" and continue on.  ;-)

  • I can't run Windows 7 upgrade on my desk. It is said to double click, then I click on a screen to put in disk. I also had this thing to power2go. Thanks for any help. I'm upgrading to vista.

Buy windows 7 from microsoft sotre online and downloaded to computer for about 12 hours.

Installation time can vary depending on factors such as the speed of the processor, memory and your data set (including your personal files, settings and installed applications that must be transferred during the upgrade. Some upgrades may take an average of 2 hours 25 minutes, but there has been cases of up to 20 hours.

My upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate x 64 to Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 took about 3.5 hours, but I had a large library of applications (8 GB), and a set of data, which was about 68 GBs, so it was understandable

    -------

If installation still remains non-compliant, turn the system off, wait 10 minutes. Start it again and choose the option on the Boot Manager to restore the installation for Windows Vista, try the following steps below:

1 disable any security software before you attempt to upgrade or do a clean install.
    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)
    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.
    4. check your hard disk for errors:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

In addition, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it will scan your system and provide a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7, and if there is no compatibility problems with your hardware or programs.

    Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    User account control permission
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    5. click on OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7 try the upgrade again

If the problem exists, you may be able to do a custom installation:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Can I run windows bit defender with Norton 360? »

Please let me know how to disable bit defender if the answer is no, I can't do it.

It have BitDefender and Windows Defender.

And you can't uninstall Windows Defender from Vista. It is part of theVista operating system.

If you use BitDefender, it's an anti-virus program; Windows Defender is an Anti-Spyware program that is installed with the Vista operating system.

And you shouldn't have 2 anti-virus installed/does work at the same time.
If you do, it may cause blockages of the system, etc.

If you only use Windows Defender (and not BitDefender), here is a link to the Forums of Norton re some of the problems encountered with the combination

    http://community.Norton.com/Norton/search?submitted=true&type=message&sort_by=score&q= "windows + defender" & page_size = 10

If you use BitDefender and want to remove BitDefender > try a right-click on its icon in the Notification area > turn it off > then go to control panel > programs > uninstall, etc..

  • How can I move windows 7 (not OE), to another machine after upgrade to windows 10?

I have a machine that has Windows 7 Ultimate installed on it, as a clean install from a CD with a code.  I upgraded this Windows 10 machine and I want to spend the nec plus ultra 7 to another machine.  How to "Uninstall" or "Turn off" Windows 7 in the computer being upgraded so that I can activate it on another computer after a clean install?

If you upgrade Windows 7 Ultimate edition free update of Windows 10, you cannot move Windows 7 Ultimate edition to another machine because the free update used Windows 7 Ultimate edition as an eligible basic license.

Only if you have installed a full version of Windows 10 license would you be able to transfer the license of Windows 7 to a new computer.

Otherwise, you will need to purchase a new license of Windows 7.

  • Can I run more than one Node Manager by machine?

    EIS,

We have a situation in our project, where we need to run different areas on a Solaris machine in modes different from java.
Domain1 say must be running in the 32-bit version of java while Domain2 should be run in 64-bit mode because of the nature of the tests currently underway in different areas.
We could successfully get both running in different modes of java at the same time by changing the startup scripts to decide what data model South to start the servers based on some parameters. However, the pain here is with the node Manager.

I believe that there should be a Node Manager running by the machine for all areas currently running on this computer. Whenever I have to run a different mode than what Node Manager domain runs on java, so I had to kill the node Manager and launch it in the same version that I want to start other servers in as Node Manager uses his departure parms internally to start managed servers (Note: there is no problem in running the administration server regardless of the node as expected Manager mode).

Can someone tell me if there is a way around these problems?
I want to know if we can run more than one Manager node by machine.
