Hello

You cannot update the 32-bit to 64-bit Win Win!
You must do a clean install of Win 64 bit file to use it.

  • Can I update to 10 32-bit of Windows if I run Windows 7Pro 64-bit?

I trust currently some fairly old legacy 16-bit software and I can run on 7 Pro x 64 with XPMode - a bit of a pain, but it is essential software, so I do what I do...

I had someone test install and it works on their Windows 10... they have x 64 processor and run x 86 windows 10... other than having to change the default installation locations, it works very well.

My question is, if I have a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Pro installed on my laptop, when I'll update Windows 10, can I choose to install a 32-bit version?  And if I can't, will x 64 run 16-bit software?

    Can I update to 10 32-bit of Windows if I run Windows 7Pro 64-bit?

No, at least not directly.  To do this (to change your number of bits), you need to wipe your drive and reinstall the new type-bit Windows you want.  But you also have to do the upgrade directly from Windows 7, if you want Windows 10 to be free.  So, here's what to do:

    1. be sure to save all the files you want to keep and have your ready installers for your additional programs, you'll want to install again.

    2 - pass from 7 to 10.  You will stay on 64-bit.

3 activate Windows so that he knows that this computer is allowed for the 10 free.

4 - Download the Windows 10 Installer to a port USB or CD and use it to clean install 10 Windows (32 bit this time)

Another option would be to retain the 64-bit, but start your 16-bit on a Hyper-v virtual machine software.  Best of both worlds and you will have to use more memory since 64-bit allows you to use more than about 3 GB of RAM.

Running Windows 7, 64-bit, using IE 9, Facebook games keep telling me every morning I do it to install Adobe Flash Player, and all goes well, that day, then the next day, get the same message, is there a permanent fix for this somewhere?

It could be related to ActiveX filtering, too. Adobe Flash seems to work on IE only with ActiveX filtering disabled (I also have these messages, they never appear on Chrome or other browsers who do not share this security feature).

My computer is able to run Windows XP 64 - bit professional? Its a Dell Dimension 9100.

    Hey Brennan,

Please contact Support technique Dell http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/ with this issue.  If you use the Service tag or Express Service Code number number you should be able to ID your computer exactly (at least it was at the time of purchase).

If you don't find the information yourself, use the other options such as contact us or forums, or anything that seems most appropriate (as some costs and others take more time and others just guide you).

    Good luck!

    Kosh

P.S. If you have changed anything of what has been installed originally, let them know because they will decide on the basis of information they have and won't know what you've done since then (as replaced the hard drive or other) which may affect the result.  If the answer is no, then try to find out what exactly prevents it as it can be the purchase of a component or a lot too - but it's better to know where you stand.

  • HP 1000-1433TU: LAN drivers for HP 1000 - 1433TU running Windows 7 64 bit

I will try to find the correct LAN drivers for a HP 1000-1433TU running Windows 7 64-bit model.  I tried a variety of drivers for this model on the HP site, including those for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, but none of them does not seem to install the drivers, I need to be able to connect directly to a Modem via an Ethernet cable.

This is a new installation of Windows 7, as I prefer it to Windows 8, and I also tried to install the Chipset Drivers (available only for Windows 8, but a necessary component!) before the LAN drivers, but still no luck.

At ran Windows Update to see if that can solve the problem, but again, without success.

Thank you very much in advance for a solution to this.

    Hi, Henrik:

Specifications of your PC seem to meet all of the hardware requirements to be able to fully run W7.

    P D 915 processor is capable of 64-bit.

    ( (4M-Cache-2_80-GHz-800-MHz-FSB http://ark.intel.com/products/27515/Intel-Pentium-D-Processor-915-)

I recommend you max on your memory to 4 GB as a 64-bit operating system requires more memory to run a 32 bit OS.

A 32 bit OS will perform better on a PC that is running less than 4 GB of memory, unless you need a 64-bit system to run 64-bit programs.

I would also start the W7 Upgrade Advisor to confirm what I posted.

    Best regards

Please, take a breath and describe your problem in detail and in order.

I see that you have a computer running Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit?  Which edition?) at the moment and you want TO upgrade to Windows 10.  For example, so that you can properly work your mind around it - a few questions...

    Are you ready to upgrade?

How are your backups?  Made sure your consistent data (just the things important to you) backups are working correctly and can be restored from?

What your support installation and key product / series number backups - all that sorted and easily accessible?

Have you checked, while visiting with the manufacturer of your system and the manufacturers of the software, you use most on your computer, all what you have/use/want to use are supported by said manufacturer with 10 windows and discovered that, instead, you need to do to continue the use of a stringer of such things after the upgrade?

Some device drivers upgraded, you need to download?

    A software patch?

Uninstall the software before upgrading to Windows 10 and install it once the upgrade is complete?

You have refined a method of execution to a COMPLETE PICTURE of the right SYSTEM backup before you start the upgrade? After all the upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 7/8.1 could be likened to move coverage while stand you on it - so it is quite complex and has its risks.  Backup offline during the upgrade (and external) media image full system is a VERY good backup plan in case something goes wrong or - you don't like it.

You might even want to clean this system some current, make sure * it * is as healthy as it could be before attempting to upgrade.  An efficient and up-to-date system is more likely to result in a smoother experience for an upgrade is as broad as this...  You could look through this previous conversation where I suggested someone clean up their system before the upgrade:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-update/scheduling-the-upgrade-to-Windows-10-not-working/13e88e85-2919-4e20-847E-94073e48090c

Some links that would be different from those in the above suggested cleanup link - if you have WIndows 7 and not Windows 8.1 (and want to do the same cleanup)...

    Disk Cleanup: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/818-disk-cleanup-open-use.html

    SFC/scannow: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

    Defragment: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11733-disk-defragmenter-open-use.html

    When you think you're ready...

Use the page web media creation tool to kick off your upgrade.

The big take away there are: the device drivers, software updates and BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!

You could even make a full image backup of your current system and CLEAN install Windows 10 using your product key Windows 7/8.1 (from - likely - your product key on your machine sticker) and start completely cleaned with 10 Windows - install everything you want or need and restore your personal/etc of your latest files backups of files/folders (not the picture of the system.)

Then, if things do not work on (pilot devices, software, etc.), you can use the system image backup to restore State "pre-fact-anything that it" and continue on.  ;-)

  • Is it possible to run Windows 7 * 32-bit and Windows 7 * 64-bit on the same computer?

I have Windows 7 * 32 bit running in my computer. But a lot of games that is built on 64-bit do not work in my system. I tried to install Windows 7 * 64 Bit on another partition of my computer. But before the start of the system using the Windows 7 installation DVD, I get an error with the oxc00000e9 status. The info says: unexpected i/o error has occurred.

My question is whether it can run Windows 7 * 32-bit and Windows 7 * 64-bit on the same computer. If so, how to install the Windows 7 * 64-Bit? Thank you.

Yes, you can, but you will need to have a permit for it if you plan to have both on the same computer.

the key that can be used with 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 is designed to drive 1. You cannot use install both. 1 license, 1 installation, so choose wisely. If you want to install Windows 7 32 or 64 bit on another partition or another computer, you must purchase an additional license.

    INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS.

    a. one copy per computer. You can install one copy of the software on a single computer. This computer is "licensed computer.

    b. a computer license. You can use the software on up to two processors of the computer under license at some point. Except as provided in these license terms, you cannot use the software on any other computer.

    c. number of users. Except as provided in these license terms, only one user may use the software at a time.

    d. other Versions. The software may include several versions, such as 32-bit and 64-bit. You may install and use only one version at a time.

I have FSX w/acceleration installed for a few years now on my HP G71 dual core laptop and it works great, that I had no problem at all. It was my first attempt to print from it however. I wanted to print a flight plan, click on the "print" button and nothing happened. I went to the Panel, open Printers and devices, and my printer was there, online and ready without papers pending. I went to properties and even printed a test page, so I know that the issue is not with the printer. For some reason any FSX does not send the document to the printer.
