• Play and rename the clip in the project Panel, using only the keyboard

  I want to use my keyboard to navigate through the items displayed in the thumbnail view in the Panel project (pictured below), play these clips and rename these clips. Already, I am able to up, down, left, right keys to navigate and can press ENTER to rename the clip. However, the space bar does not play the selected clip unless I use my mouse to click on it.

  

  I really want to avoid using my mouse in this process. This will greatly enhance the convenience of crosses a lot of clips and visualizing and renamed.

  Someone at - it suggestions? Open to workarounds or other ways to skin this cat.

  It is a problem I always had with first - I think that it is not a solution, but I wanted to ask the community to see if someone has found a way.

  Hey mammolastan,

  I don't think there is a way to play a clip with Sapcebar in the project without first Panel by clicking on it. You should have a demand: feature request/Bug Report Form

  There is a work around using only keyboard shortcuts, if you are interested. I prefer this workflow myself because you have to make the thumbnails big enough so that they can be useful, in my opinion.

  If you have already said, you can navigate with the arrow keys, press ENTER to return to rename and move to another clip or enter on the numeric keypad to not go to the next clip. When I do what you, I open my clips in the Source monitor and view them there, air conditioned and have no mice. SHIFT + O is the default shortcut to open an item in the Source monitor, but I've changed mine to Cmd + down arrow (as OS X). Then you can shuttle, set in/out points, make markers, etc., and then when you go to your next video you press SHIFT + 1 to return to your project Panel. It's more shortcuts, Yes, but given that you are looking for a KB option-driven, I feel you're fast enough with your fingers, and once you do it a few times, it is true no big thing at all.

  I just loaded PP CD5 on my Win 7 laptop.  Can I import video clips into my project, but I can't drag one of these clips in the timeline.  When I try and do slip, I get a helping hand with a symbol of the "no entry".  No error message any.

  I vaguely remember having this same problem when I loaded PP CS5 on my Win 7 office several months ago, and I thought I found something on the forums who told me how to fix it, but I can't find it now.  Maybe a change in preferences?

  Have you actually created a sequence? If not, go to file > New > sequence, or drag one of your video clips to the icon of a new element at the bottom of the project Panel. You can also click on that to get the option new sequence.

  do not understand what you mean. On video clips in the past the line seems just when I put the video files in the timeline. I don't see them now, how can I get this line back so that I can manually disappear with the pen tool?

  With the extended track, go into the settings menu to display timeline (the key) and select "See the video keyframe."

• I can list other metadata fields in the project window?

  I would like to add a few columns of metadata in the project list, such as the custom field I created on ingest, or the Description field. It doesn't seem possible, but I can't imagine why not. The main reason is so that I can scan a list of the files view and identify items that have a specific piece of metadata (for example the comment: "good catch")

  Thanks for your post. Prelude does not currently provide the ability to control the columns displayed in the project Panel. You can search all the metadata that may be on your clips and the project Panel will filter for you.

  By example, if you search for "grip" only those assets with this metadata will appear. All others will be filtered and discarded. You can then organize by selecting all the results of the search (CTRL + A) and by dragging the icon again bin. This will create a sandbox and move all assets

  The Prelude API offers the ability to dynamically add columns. But this requires the drafting of an HTML table and other codes. Probably more than you want to undertake. The API was designed more for integrations with MAMS and other web services.

  I was under the assumption that the items in the project Panel were the main elements (original not without effects) and by dragging to the timeline creates new versions of the master clips as subclips.

  I have hundreds of clips in my project Panel that caught the points of entry and the previous cut.  How can I reset this for that drag these clips to the timeline add all the clips... not a cut version.  I can deal with each element individually and to extend the entry points and but is not something I want to do hundreds of clips.

  I don't know if this has been answered, because the wire is long enough, but you CAN reset it in/out points for clips in the project. It was a feature of 7.0.1. To do this, you simply select the clips in the project Panel and press the shortcut key for clear in or out (Opt i/o) or clear in AND out (Opt X).

  It's me again and I am running into a problem. So I have this clip which is nested in several video clips. I mean Flash to perform an action when this clip from movie hits another video clip in the main timeline. It's just a collision for a game detection using the hitTestObject code. I was thinking of using MovieClip (root), but that won't work because it is so nested. Can someone help me? I would like to know if I need to explain more. Thank you!

• Unable to access video clips of the external hard drive

  I've been using PE9 for six to nine months.  My normal workflow was to create a separate project on a 500g external hard drive. This file contains all the video clips (.mov files) and the Project.PREL file.

  This great worked until recently.  I can bring is no longer the .mov clips in the project schedule or sceenline from the hard disk.  By using the command 'Get Meda' a 'unfinished' file is downloaded, and when I try to drag the clip to the timeline, the program asks me where the file. Something has changed - and I don't know what or how to fix it.

  

  The image above comes from a project where I'm having this problem.  The clips that have images in them are downloaded from my portable hard drive.  Others come from my external hard drive - and those are the ones that the program cannot "locate."  That's what I'm trying to figure out how to fix it.  Yet once, this suddenly started happening - so somehow I changed something, I think.

  The same clips can be imported when they are stored on my hard drive.  When I try to import them when stored on a video card, the video importer PRE opens and I can bring them to the program in this way.  However, these are not viable alternatives for me.

  So what has changed, I can't determine.  Is there a setting, codec or something that I can study that this would cause? As I said, this just started happening?

  In addition, some previous projects to open correctly and some may not find the files - even if they are all stored on the same HD 500 g.

• Sorting in the project Panel

  Hello users of Premiere Pro! I am currently in transition from FCP to Premiere. Slowly, but surely.

  Quick question about the project Panel. I'm a big fan of adding metadata to save the images. There is a way of sorting by scene, journal, FPS, Nom_de_la_bande Notes and so forth, but nothing for decision-making/plan. There is an input box in the main metadata tab for it, but when the projects are huge, I would rather not click in each clip to the figure which is which. Also, I would rather not change the name of the file. I could probably stick it in one of the other fields, but I'm curious to know if these organizational "tabs" can be added/subtracted at the PCF. Click right does not work.

  P.S. I am aware it is traditionally implemented as scene, Shot, take, but I was able to make it work with only two of these classifications.

  In the upper right corner of the project Panel, you will see a small menu button that looks like a stack of pancakes; Click on it and select the option to display the metadata presented here. In the search box, type 'shot' or 'take' and you can check the items of metadata to display. Alternatively, you can remove items you don't need. Do not forget to save these settings, so you can quickly recall later. You can then rearrange the column headers in the project Panel to accommodate your preferred Info screen.
