  I can not connect to the public site weater NOAA.gov and weather.gov, but have no problem connecting to other sites, private public.

  I have the following information:

  • WRT54Gv6 wireless with v1.02.08 firmware (5 October 2009)... the most recent.
  • 3 devices, desktop, computer laptop and iPad... None of which can connect to the NOAA or weather.gov
  • Government Web sites is growing when I tried to connect.
  • I have connected to these sites for years and as recently as yesterday.
  • Linksys BEFCMU10 cable modem.

  It blows my mind, since the device 3 all have different operating systems, browsers, applications of AV.  The only thing in common in the network is the modem and the wireless router.  Why only two cannot connect .gov sites?

  Appreciate any thoughts - that someone might have on this strange experience.

  The goal is simple: be able to surf the web with my guest OS (Windows XP Home edition).

  Just an info, Windows 7 is not a host VMware Ace/Workstation 6 operating system.  Also why do you install 6.0.0 vs install 6.0.5?

  Have you tried to manually set DNS servers to no known public IP address just leave it to the private IP address that you have shown by default?

  I have a new HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 running under Windows 7 64-bit. The computer can see the wireless network, but when I try to connect to them I get a pop up saying "Wireless: assocaiting" followed by a saying "Wireless: disconnected" and the connection never works. In this case connect to any wireless network. I know that networks and passwords are correct, because my phone and iPad can connect to them without problems.

  I've updated all the drivers via Windows Update and also the SP support Assistant. I tried to uninstall the wireless driver and allowing windows to discover and install from scratch. Nothing seems to work. I see a similar thread a few years ago in the forums but no resolution. I never got so so boredom before wireless connection and I can't help but suspect a hardware failure.

  Can anyone suggest anything?

  OK, I realize, but this cannot help others, after raising a warranty with HP call, it turned out that my problem was hardware after all. HP sent a technician to replace the network card, but when he opened the laptop, it turned out that the antenna is detached from the card wireless altogether and reataching it solved the problem.

  He seems to have righted itself - I tried a lot of things, including several restorations system and this has triggered the automatic update again.
