  I purchased Office home & student 2016 with my Dell laptop.

  When I followed the instructions to activate it, I find myself at the Microsoft store and it says my product key is not associated with my Microsoft account.  Of course not, I bought it through Dell, not Microsoft...

  Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

  Try to check the package of the laptop, if you still have.

  Underneath, Gerry suggested calling Dell support with the Express Service Code and serial number.  When I went back to the box that the laptop came to pick up the tag and code, I found a small envelope zippered plastic with a bright red sticker saying "important information." -Do not throw. Inside is a small booklet titled "Office Home and student Product Activation 2016".

  I tried following these instructions that says "enter your 25-character product key, as illustrated on back and follow the on-screen instructions."  However, the number on the back IS NOT product key and try to enter does not get very far.  I finally found the right key on a very colorful sticker ON THE NEXT TO LAST PAGE of the book little partially hidden by a label from scratch.

  Bottom line: check the condition of the packaging of the laptop. So if you find the envelope with the activation key, find the key, not on the back of the brochure, but in the pages a sticker one or two at the back of the brochure.  I hope this helps.  Thanks for the posts of Gerry who eventually go.

• Can not activate XP at HOME after a re installation of repair

  My son started the repair facility before the recording of the WPA.dbl file then please, don't bother to tell me, we should have saved the file - or any other could have, would have, should've solutions.  We have to deal with where we are.

  The repair facility has been a success and we checked we have IE 6 on the machine.  After consulting the MS site, we followed the steps that they have exhibited that was supposed to fix this problem - check the registry under HKLM\Software\Windows NT\Current Version\Notify\RESETS file and delete it (it wasn't even) - we have renamed WPA.dbl WPA.old and expanded the WPA.dbl to the installation CD C:\Windows\System32 and we checked and there's associated files (reset5.exe reset5.dll (, etc. and Svyany.exe) and there is none of the people present, all this was done in plain old safe mode you can get in.

  We have restarted following the instructions and are immediately asked to activate your version of windows - we click Yes, we answer really Yes to register at the same time, the activation of Research Assistant an internet connection and can not find an automatically - so he asks us to clarify and tell us that it looks like Cable\DSL and to automatically detect network settings local (there is no proxy - or router - or a divider) there snoring away but can't find still not all connections.

  Although they were no help - they just sent me my computer manufacturer - who wanted to charge me all outside to "solve" the problem - so I simply started in safemode, copied all my files that I needed power the computer off and did a clean install.  Who crossed the fine and all now I will update / reinstall land for the next 2 days

  It's really a shame that all Windows OS seem to need so much attention and TLC - makes me long for the old days of BACK

  I'm all new to Microsoft Office home & student, so this is a newbie question.
  I bought this product this morning and went to install it.  He said it was impossible to configure error and immediately stopped the configuration.

  I have a trial MS Office on my computer also. Specifically, I wanted an an installation CD because I feel more comfortable with it on the download of this product without the CD.
  I wondered if this product would not configure/install unless I entered the product key of the box in the trial version.  I did this and MS Office seemed to configure/install itself without further problems.

  What is the proper way to install this program?  I hope that I will still have 3 PC licenses which were indicated on the product itself to do this way.

• Can not activate my Win7 HOME Basic. Help, please

  I have 4 copies of the original Win7 HOME Basic on my 4 computers. The problem is that I forgot to mark what CD for which computer and now I have to reinstall the windows on one of my computer, so I'm just randomly on 4 CDs. whenever I try to activate, they say that this is not the right product key.

  Any solution to this?

  The key must rely on the COA sticker attached to the machine in question.

  The key here seems to be valid.

  Note:

  0xC004F050 usually means that you have misinterpreted a character - C/G or B/8 or Y/V are the most common.

  6. If you use authenticated connection, check the validity of the certificate of the master. The common name must match the host name and domain name. Unselection and then reselect the certificate in.app was reported to have an effect in some cases. Otherwise, delete all certificates and create new ones.

• Microsoft office home and Student 2007 installs whenever an attachment is open

  I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 on a new Dell computer.  I have installed Office 2007 Home and Student after I got the computer without obvious problem, but now whenever I try to open an attachment or use Windows Explorer to open a document file, I get a window that says 'Please wait while windows configures Microsoft home and student 2007' and there is a long delay until the file opens. If I open the application first and then use Office to open a saved file it works OK.

  I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 Home and Student several times unsuccessfully to correct the problem. I looked at the messages before recommending the Windows Installer CleanUp utility, but the link says not to use the Office 2007 product service program. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301 should I run this anyway?

  As Dave_P_B, Dell Dock on my computer had no problem opening quickly applications. I figured well Dell Dock, so as part of my effort to fix this, I uninstalled Office 2007 home and student, and Dell Dock and IE8 and various updates of Windows. I then reinstalled Office 2007. I always had the same problem, so I put everything back as it was. My computer is up-to-date with all the updates of Windows and reinstall fresh of Dell Dock. Everything works well except for this problem.

  The Office 2007 software works very well on my wife's cell phone. (not a Dell)
