  I have the problem after update to El Capitan. I keep getting notifications from different sites (including facebook) that I can not stop no matter what I try. Any thoughts on how to stop them? (I even put the guilty site (www.idevice.ro) on/etc/hosts to stop it with no result). I even tried "Do not disturb" in Notifications, also removing any notification in settings > Notifications and nothing works, what is frustrating - I'm honestly sick banners popping up every 10 minutes.   I don't know anything about "reset admin account" but here are two things that may help the case to start in safe mode.  First, enter the mode safe mode with f8 key is a matter of time.  On my computer (Dell) during the boot process, I'm going to get a screen send me options of start of f2 and f12, which is to enter the BIOS.  I can start hitting key f8 then but you will in safe mode unless I'm hit immediately after that the screen with f2 & f12 choices goes.  I just hit several times for a few moments at this time.

  Restore point:
