  What is the operating system installed on your computer?

  I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

  (a) press the Ctrl, Alt button Delete (if it is prompting you to press on).

  (b) click on your user name and password (if your username do not have a password, it will identify you by clicking on your username).

• Alarms, appear in the journal of the IDM, but not in the VEI

  I saw alarms in the event ID that have not been received by the IEV logs. There is no filter on the VEI.

  I think I may have an answer...

  There may be something to do with 'Level' Information for the alarm data must be passed to the host that is running VEI?

  Under the "Configuration > Communications > remote hosts > event Destinations" in IDM, change the remote host and check the information 'Level' which is defined.

  There are four levels: 'Information', 'Low', 'Medium' and 'High '. These map to alarm severity levels: 1 and 2 are 'Information '. 3 is 'low '. 4 is 'support; and 5 is high.

  If I understand correctly, the VEI will receive alarms that are equal (or higher) 'Level' in IDM. In other words, if you have configured to accept the 'Medium' then VEI will see only level 4 and 5 alarms. Since many alarms in the NSDB are level 3, then of course you would see them in the newspapers of IDM, but thanks to a 'Level' setting 'Medium' Information, you will not see reflected them in VEI.

• Delete the old log files from IDS4210

  Is it possible to delete the old files of the IDM event log? If this is not the case, what is the best way to remove them.

  By default, the old log files are deleted automatically because the system fills the disk and the file age.

  You can manually "clean" by using the following procedure:

  Sign in as netrangr and cd in the/usr/nr/var directory.

  Run idsstop

  dump/usr/bin/RM-f / * errors / * iplog / * iplog/news / * iplog/dumpster / * new / * log.* erreur.*

  Run idsstart

  No. but you can install Virtual PC/Windows XP mode or an alternative like Sun's VirtualBox and a copy of Windows XP and run it in a virtual machine. You must upgrade to Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition to use Windows Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode.

  Visual Studio 2012 and 2010 versions are fully compatible with Windows 7.

• CS5 out of memory - context-aware filling

  Try a simple context-aware fill and get "could not complete because there is not enough ram.

  Have 8 gig of ram installed.  By activity monitor CS5 uses 178.7 MB and there is 6.14 GB free.   Size of the document is 1.18 concert. Attached are the relevant screenshots.
